• Get a char from a CString

  I have created a function that has as input a char szMyChar; (using it in a switch statement). Now I have a CString havong just a char, lets say CString strString = "A"; An option to call the function could be: if (strString == "A") CallMyFunc('A'); though it is clumsy. I tried atoi (returns 0) and casting though neither works. Any ideas? Thanks, Sun

I know that this can be done in IIS by using the HTTP Redirect feature. • Does the compiler optimize the function parameters passed by value?

  Lets say I have a function where the parameter is passed by value instead of const-reference. Further, lets assume that only the value is used inside the function i.e. the function doesn't try to modify it. In that case will the compiler will be able to figure out that it can pass the value by const-reference (for performance reasons) and generate the code accordingly? Is there any compiler which does that?

  In Codeigniter, I have a login/registration form all set up, working perfectly, however how can I output the current users username, i.e. When the user has logged in it would say "Welcome, [username]". I also need to know this, to be able to output from the database the record based on the current users ID, how can I do that?   Sorry for the vague title, but I'm not sure what this is called. Say I add IDisposable to my class, Visual Studio can create the method stub for me. But it creates the stub like: void IDisposable.Dispose() I don't follow what this syntax is doing. Why do it like this instead of public void Dispose()? And with the first syntax, I couldn't work out how to call Dispose() from within my class (in my destructor).
