  • _REQUIREDNAME always nil

    - by Nali4Freedom
    I'm trying to use the method for naming a lua package after the filename mentioned here, however _REQUIREDNAME is never defined. For example I have these two files samplePackage.lua: print("_REQUIREDNAME: ", _REQUIREDNAME) return nil; packageTest.lua: require "samplePackage" And when I run packageTest.lua it outputs > _REQUIREDNAME: nil I also couldn't find any mention of _REQUIREDNAME in the Lua 5.1 Refrence manual, so was this removed from the language, or am I missing something?

  • Python 3.2: How to pass a dictionary into str.format()

    - by Robert Dailey
    I've been reading the Python 3.2 docs about string formatting but it hasn't really helped me with this particular problem. Here is what I'm trying to do: stats = { 'copied': 5, 'skipped': 14 } print( 'Copied: {copied}, Skipped: {skipped}'.format( stats ) ) The above code will not work because the format() call is not reading the dictionary values and using those in place of my format placeholders. How can I modify my code to work with my dictionary?

  • What is the difference between printf() and puts() in C?

    - by alex
    First up, I should let you know that I am learning C, so my apologies if this question seems stupid to a more advanced developer. I know you can print with printf() and puts(). I can also see that printf() allows you to embed variables inside and do some stuff like formatting. Is puts() merely a primitive version of printf(). Should it be used for every possible printf() without string interpolation? Thanks

  • What is the best way to include a php file as a template?

    - by Jon
    I have simple template that's html mostly and then pulls some stuff out of SQL via PHP and I want to include this template in three different spots of another php file. What is the best way to do this? Can I include it and then print the contents? Example of template: Price: <?php echo $price ?> and, for example, I have another php file that will show the template file only if the date is more than two days after a date in SQL.

  • Invoking a function of library libfprint in Python

    - by Ivanelson
    I need help to call a function(Struct C) that detects the devices, so I'm calling the function this way: from ctypes import * fp = CDLL('./libfprint.so.0') fp.fp_discover_devs.argtypes = None fp.fp_discover_devs.restype = c_char_p ret = fp.fp_discover_devs() print ret # is "0" That is not detected any device, because the return is "0". See the documentation of the function: I'm using Ubuntu and I downloaded the "fprint_demo" and works perfectly. Did you install any package missing? Thanks.

  • Problem carrying Session over to other pages

    - by AAA
    I am able to login a user, but while processing to the next page (memebers area) I can't display any user info let alone print the $_SESSION[email]. I am not sure what's up. Below is the login code and the testing members are page. Login page: session_start(); //also in a real app you would get the id dynamically $sql = "select `email`, `password` from `accounts` where `email` = '$_POST[email]'"; $query = mysql_query($sql) or die ("Error: ".mysql_error()); while ($row = mysql_fetch_array($query)){ $email = $row['email']; $secret = $row['password']; //we will echo these into the proper fields } mysql_free_result($query); // Process the POST variables $email = $_POST["email"]; //Variables $_SESSION["email"] = $_POST["email"]; $secret = $info['password']; //Checks if there is a login cookie if(isset($_COOKIE['ID_my_site'])) //if there is, it logs you in and directes you to the members page { $email = $_COOKIE['ID_my_site']; $pass = $_COOKIE['Key_my_site']; $check = mysql_query("SELECT email, password FROM accounts WHERE email = '$email'")or die(mysql_error()); while($info = mysql_fetch_array( $check )) { if (@ $info['password'] != $pass) { } else { header("Location: home.php"); } } } //if the login form is submitted if (isset($_POST['submit'])) { // if form has been submitted // makes sure they filled it in if(!$_POST['email'] | !$_POST['password']) { die('You did not fill in a required field.'); } // checks it against the database if (!get_magic_quotes_gpc()) { $_POST['email'] = addslashes($_POST['email']); } $check = mysql_query("SELECT email,password FROM accounts WHERE email = '".$_POST['email']."'")or die(mysql_error()); //Gives error if user dosen't exist $check2 = mysql_num_rows($check); if ($check2 == 0) { die('That user does not exist in our database. <a href=add.php>Click Here to Register</a>'); } while($info = mysql_fetch_array( $check )) //gives error if the password is wrong if (@ $_POST['password'] != $info['password']) { die('Incorrect password, please try again'); } else { // if login is ok then we add a cookie $_POST['email'] = stripslashes($_POST['email']); $hour = time() + 3600; setcookie(ID_my_site, $_POST['email'], $hour); setcookie(Key_my_site, $_POST['password'], $hour); //then redirect them to the members area header("Location: home.php"); } } } else { // if they are not logged in ?> <?php } ?> home.php session_start(); if(!isset($_SESSION['email'])) { header('Location: login_test3.php'); die('<a href="login_test3.php">Login first!</a>'); } //Variables $_SESSION["email"] = $email; print $_SESSION['name']; UPDATE Just realized the existing code gets in to the home.php file but will not echo anything. But as soon as you hit refresh the session is gone.

  • How to log SQL output to text file on client from C#

    - by Rob Packwood
    I have a large auditing stored procedure that prints values and runs some SELECT statements. When running within SQL Management Studio we have the use select to display "Results to Text" so all of the SQL results and print statement display in one place. Now I need to have some C# code also call this auditing procedure at the end of the process and basically store all data that would be in the "Results to Text" window into a .txt file. How can this be done?

  • Is `std::string(strerror(errno))` dangerous?

    - by StackedCrooked
    At some places in my code, I print debug messages like this: int ret = getLinkSpeed(device.getSysName(), linkSpeed); if (ret < 0) { logDebug("Failed to obtain port speed for this device. Error: " + std::string(strerror(errno))); } From the documentation it is not entirely clear if strerror will return 0 under certain conditions (which would cause my code to crash). Does anyone know if it's safe?

  • NZEC in spoj FACKT

    - by frodo
    I was trying to solve this problem http://www.spoj.pl/problems/FACKT/, and I keep getting a Non-Zero Exit Code (NZEC). How exactly do I figure out what to change in the code to overcome this? Here is the code import math import sys def cal_num(n): i = 1 f = 1 while f<n: f *= i i = i + 1 return i-1 while 1: line = sys.stdin.readline() if line == "": break n = int(line) x = cal_num(n) y = math.factorial(2*x) l = int(math.ceil(math.log(y,10))) print (x,l) Any suggestion would be welcome.

  • sidewaysfire and twosided

    - by hanno
    I try two use sidewaysfigure from the rotating package in the twosided memoir class. The resulting figures look correct in the pdf that is generated, with the page rotated by 90 degrees. However, when I print the document (on linux, using CUPS), some of the pages with a sidewaysfigure are upside down (rotated by 180 degreeS).
