Hi All,
I have freshly installed ESXI 4. But when ever i reboot my server all the setting gets lost like IP setting move back to automatic instead of static, the license key gets lost.
Any ideas?
I have SSL-sertificate for www. mydomain.com
How is the right config for nginx to get desired:
SSL request without www (https://mydomain.com/somefile) will be redirected to https://www. mydomain.com/somefile
This doesn't work, broser shows SSL-warning (wrong domain) :(
server
{
listen 443 ssl;
server_name mydomain.com;
rewrite ^(.*) https://www.mydomain.com$1 permanent;
ssl_certificate intermediate.crt;
ssl_certificate_key www.mydomain.com.key;
}
I know how to create an AutoHotkey script to switch to (say) a Firefox window.
But suppose I have a number of Firefox windows open. I would like the key to switch to the next window each time it is pressed.
I did some reorganisation of my mail in Lotus Notes 7 this mornign, and seem to have lost some in the process.
Not knowing Notes very well, I have two questions:
if I selected some mail in the Inbox using the check-column, and dragged that mail into a folder, then selected some more mail in the Inbox, and hit the Del key, will the group of emails that were dragged into the other folder be deleted too, because I didn't unselect them?
is there a way to search in all folders, rather than just the current folder?
After reading this thread I might have sorted out why the CHKDSK-prompt starts.
But the biggest problem is that when it prompts me with Press any key with in 10..0 seconds,
nothing happens until the timer hits 6, then it starts the check even though I've pressed any button (and yet it's 4 seconds left).
This question states the problem as it appears at me, though the answer is wrong.
Why does the actual check start after 6 seconds, and is there any way to disable it from within Windows?
In Konsole (KDE on Debian), when I try control arrow key to move to next or previous word in a line, it prints 5d or 5c instead of moving forward/back one word. How do I activate these shortcuts?
Also, the shortcuts work fine in other applications.
I have to transcribe some audio (not enough to download dedicated software but enough to put my hacker hat on) and flipping back and forth between vlc and my text editor every time I want to pause is really annoying.
Is there a way to always route a key-press (for example F10) to vlc regardless of what window has focus.
Bonus - I have a Makey Makey so if I can get this working I can create a pedal and it will be my first real use of it!
Will subversion accept usernames such as [email protected]?
We are using svn+ssh with public key authentication as per the official svn guide's ssh tips and tricks section.
Basically, we pass svnserve with the --tunnel-user={username} command, will subversion be OK with that username having @ and . in it?
Thanks.
I think the title says it all.
There is this question, but there wasn't much of a response and the main answer was about being scammed!
I am away from home and need to reinstall Windows 7 on my laptop. Can I get the ISO anywhere and just use the key on the bottom of my laptop?!
I am looking for a TCP proxy - a utility that will connect to a port, read a TCP stream, and write it to clients that connect to it.
The key point here is that there may be more than one client, and each client should receive a copy of the stream.
Preferably windows solution, but Linux can be useful as well.
I've seen several screencasts (recorded on Mac OS X) which show a nice little "toast" indicating which shortcut key is being pressed by the screencaster, typically in the middle of the screen. Is this a feature of the screencasting software? Is there an app that does this that stands alone?
I regularly do presentations for programming classes, and I want a way to show my audience what shortcuts I'm activating.
I use the iPhone Mail application to check my Gmail (IMAP). Is the data stored on the iPhone "secure"? Is it, for instance, encrypted? Key strength? Thanks!
I searched the site for "iphone encryption" but could not find an answer re: encryption level (if any).
I have blocked FTP 21 port on server. NOw every connection will be via SFTP via ssh.
Initially i had /etc/hosts.deny -- sshd:all
But i had to remove that otherwise sftp was not working.
How can i secure my shell login so that if someone login via root or userbac(root previleges)
Then i need private key but not for other users
Or any other to secure my system
Thanks
When either selecting a data center as a co-location facility or designing a new one from scratch, what would your ideal specification be?
Fundamentally, diversified power sources, multiple ISPs, redundant generators, UPS, cooling, and physical security are all desireable.
What are the additional key requirements that someone might not consider on the first pass?
What are the functional details someone might not consider during the initial high level design?
Hi!
I am trying to find a way in mutt to jump to my reply to a mail.
To be precise: I have a mail from someone else open in mutt and I replied to that mail - a copy of that reply is in the sent folder. Now I want mutt to show me that reply, when I press some key while reading the original message.
Is there a way to accomplish this?
Thanks in advance,
Prof. MAAD
I found this article on options that can be put before a key in the authorized_keys file. I was wondering though, are there more? Options listed in the article are
from="domain"
command="commandtorun"
no-port-forwarding
no-X11-forwarding
no-agent-forwarding
no-pty
Hi all--
We've had this problem for a long time. When users travel, sometimes they can't get internet access from a wired or wireless connection. Here are a couple examples:
1) A user goes to a hotel and tries to access the wireless in their room. They can connect to the access point. They open a web browser and they can't get re-directed to the hotel's login page. Because they can't log in, there's no internet access.
2) A user goes to another laboratory/university and tries to access the wired network. They connect, link is fine, PC gets IP from DHCP but no internet access. There's no login page to be re-directed to. It should just "work".
What I've found is that it's a DNS issue. Because the computer is on a Windows Domain, it seems it MUST use our DNS servers. Even if you connect to an outside network and do an ipconfig /all, it looks like everything is ok. It'll even show their DNS servers listed in the config. The computer just won't use the other network's DNS server. I found a reg key that keeps our DNS servers listed and it seems that they take priority every time:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\DNSClient
All the values under that key are for our AD domain. NameServer and Searchlist never change. What I've found is if the user edits the NameServer string and puts the DNS server of the network they're on, everything works just fine. They get re-directed to the hotel's correct login page or their internet access starts working. It's only a problem if the network they're on blocks outside DNS or a hotel that uses an internal name in their front page redirection that only their DNS server knows about, i.e., not public. If the re-direct page starts with an IP, like 10.10.10.10, it'll work just fine.
Obviously this isn't a fix for everyone. Most of my users are pretty knowledgeable so it’s easy for me to walk them through or send them a .reg file that they can edit and run.
This problem isn't limited to Windows 7. It was like this with XP as well. It's not hardware related. The problem exists on both wired and wireless, Intel or Broadcom, laptops or desktops.
Anyone else have this problem? Is there a GPO I can change that I missed? Got a good work-around for this?
Thanks for any help!

I installed a Forwarding DNS server on Centos 5.10 and it is resolving addresses e.g google.com. When I stopped named (service named stop) and tried to dig (dig @localhost A google.com) there was a failure to resolve the address. I checked and see the caching daemon nscd is running.
Does this mean the server is not caching at all? How can I get it to cache?

Does anybody know if there's a keyboard shortcut equivilant to the right click - New context menu in explorer?
Given that I suspect that there isn't, does anybody know of an explorer extension that offers something similar? It would be great to have a key combination that yielded an intellisense style dropdown (or similar) of the available file types!
Are they encrypted in disk? How? Are they safe, for example, in the event of someone booting from a Live CD and mounting the hard disk?
Which is the encryption key? Is it different in Windows and Linux?
I have a dual-monitor setup, and currently I can run a full screen game (Warcraft 3 and Starcraft 2 currently) and see still see anything I have open on my second monitor.
I can't move my mouse from one monitor to the other, which is a good thing. However, I would like to know if it's possible to press some key combination and "release" my mouse control from the full screen game to my second monitor without the game minimizing (which is what happens when I ALT - Tab).
I just installed Ubuntu. At the end, it tells me to keep away the CD and to restart.
After I restart it tells me:
searching for boot record form ide-0..not found
searching for boot record form cdrom..not found
root failure
press any key to continue
reboot or select proper boot device.
I have just one CD-ROM and one IDE hard drive.
