How to represent a Board Panel in Java for a game ? [+code]

I wanna fix a 2D board for a game. I've already fixed other panels for the Gui and everything goes well. But the panel for the board cant be printed on the window. I'm a bit confused about it as i think i've followed the same ideas as for the others panels i need. Here's what i've done: EDIT:*EDIT* what i'm trying to do is fix a board panel for the game according to the dimensions of the it,hold every square in an array in order to use it after wherever it;s needed. I draw each little square of it with the method draw and put it back to the panel. So, each square on the board is a panel. This is the idea. But as u can see. There are troubles/errors on it. EDIT: code updated. just found a part of the problem. i thought first that i had set background to squared, but i didnt. with this one it appears on the panel a wide black "column". Unfortunately,still none squares. :( One More EDIT: Also,i realized that draw method is never called. when i put the draw method in the following method i can see the squares but they remain small. MVC SiteMap - when different nodes point to same action SiteMap.CurrentNode does not map to the correct route

Setup: I am using ASP.NET MVC 4, with mvcSiteMapProvider to manage my menus. I have a custom menu builder that evaluates whether a node is on the current branch (ie, if the SiteMap.CurrentNode is either the CurrentNode or the CurrentNode is nested under it). The code is included below, but essentially checks the url of each node and compares it with the url of the currentnode, up through the currentnodes "family tree". The CurrentBranch is used by my custom menu builder to add a class that highlights menu items on the CurrentBranch. The Problem: My custom menu works fine, but I have found that the mvcSiteMapProvider does not seem to evaluate the url of the CurrentNode in a consistent manner: When two nodes point to the same action and are distinguished only by a parameter of the action, SiteMap.CurrentNode does not seem to use the correct route (it ignores the distinguishing parameter and defaults to the first route that that maps to the action defined in the node). Example of the Problem: In an app I have Members. A Member has a MemberStatus field that can be "Unprocessed", "Active" or "Inactive". To change the MemberStatus, I have a ProcessMemberController in an Area called Admin. The processing is done using the Process action on the ProcessMemberController. My mvcSiteMap has two nodes that BOTH map to the Process action. The routes are interpreted by Html.ActionLlink as I expect, but are not evaluated by SiteMap.CurrentNode as I expect. data not reloading into tableview from core data on minor update

I've got a basic photo album application, on the first view a list of albums is displayed with a subtitle showing how many images are in each album. I've got everything working to add albums, and add images to albums. The problem is that the image count lines are accurate whenever the app loads, but I can't get them to update during execution. onCommand on button not firing inside gridView??

This is really driving me crazy. I've got a button inside a gridview to remove that item from the gridview (its datasource is a list). I've got the list being saved to session anytime a change is being made to it, and on page_load check if that session variable is empty, if not, then set that list to bind to the gridview. If I keep it commented out...it fires no problem, but then of course my list can never have more than one item since I am not loading the saved list from session into the gridview but just a fresh one. But the button click is being registered, because page_load is being stepped through again when I am viewing in debug mode, just deleteUser never fires. Why is this happening?? And how can I fix it??

Need help to properly remove duplicates in NHibernate

Here is the problem I am having. I have a database with over 100 records in it. I am paging through the data to get 9 results at a time. When I added a check to see if items are active, it caused the results to start doubling up. A little background: "Product" is the actual product line "ProductSkus" are the actual products that exist in the product line When there is more then 1 ProductSku within Product, it causes a duplicate entry to be returned. See the NHibernate Query below: result = this.Session.CreateCriteria<Model.Product>() .Add(Expression.Eq("IsActive", true)) .AddOrder(new Order("Name", true)) .SetFirstResult(indexNumber).SetMaxResults(maxNumber) // This part of the query duplicates the products .CreateAlias("ProductSkus", "ProdSkus", JoinType.InnerJoin) .Add(Expression.Eq("ProdSkus.IsActive", true)) .CreateAlias("ProductToSubcategory", "ProdToSubcat") .CreateAlias("ProdToSubcat.ProductSubcategory", "ProdSubcat") .Add(Expression.Eq("ProdSubcat.ID", subCatId)) // This part takes out the duplicate products - Removes too many items... // Turns out that with .SetFirstResult(indexNumber).SetMaxResults(maxNumber) // it gets 9 records back then the duplicates are removed. // Example: // Total Records over 100 // Max = 9 // 4 Duplicates removed // Yields 5 records when there should be 9 // Why??? This line is ran in NHibernate on the data after it has been extracted from the SQL server. .SetResultTransformer(new NHibernate.Transform.DistinctRootEntityResultTransformer()) .List<Model.Product>(); I added the DistinctRootEntityResultTransformer to clean up the duplicates. The problem is that it pulls 9 records back that contains duplicates. DistinctRootEntityResultTransformer then cleans up the duplicates in the 9 records. I am basically needing a distinct statement to be ran on the SQL server to begin with. However, distinct on SQL is not going to work since NHibernate by default wants to add every field from every table in the select part of the statement. I am only using the fields that belong to the root table to begin with (Model.Product). If I can tell NHibernate to not add the fields to the joined tables into the select part of the statement along with adding Distinct, it would work. Application pool crashing regularly (8007006d) (Service Unavailable)

I have a basic web form site running. Nothing out of the ordinary. It is frequently crashing the application pool. The error code I got from the logs is '8007006d'. Googling this does not come up with the usual bevy of results.... I do get a few people with a similar problem. Any the advise seems to be that the error is related to registry permissions. Can anyone confirm / disconfirm this theory. That if I get error 8007006d it is definately a reg permissions problem? Here is the code from my page. Can't install gwt developer plugin for IE 7 or 8

I want to install gwt developer plugin for IE (I already installed it on chrome and firefox without any problem). When i want to install it for IE7 (on both vista with sp2 & windows server 2008 with sp2), it says that plugin installed sucessfully, but it does not work & nothing adds under add-ons section. I upgraded my ie to latest 8 version & even installed google optimized version of IE8, but it couldn't help me. Any idea ?

Session State with MVP and Application Controller patterns

Hi, I've created an MVP (passive view) framework for development and decided to go for an Application Controller pattern to manage the navigation between views. This is targeted at WinForms, ASP.NET and WPF interfaces. Although I'm not 100% convinced that these view technologies really swappable, that's my aim at the moment so my MVP framework is quite lightweight. What I'm struggling to fit in is the concept of a "Business Conversation" that needs state information to be either (a) maintained for the lifetime of the View or, more likely, (b) maintained across several views for the lifetime of a use case (business conversation). I want state management to be part of the framework as I don't want developers to worry about it. All they need to do is to "start" a conversation, "Register" objects and the framework does the rest until the "end" a conversation. Has anybody got any thoughts (patterns) to how to fit this into MVP? I was thinking it may be part of the Application Controller responsibility (delegating to a Conversation Manager object) as it knows about current state in order to send the user to the next view.... but then I thought it may be up to the Presenter to start and end the conversation so then it comes down the presenters to manage conversations and the objects registered for the that conversation. Unfortunately that means presenters can't be used in different conversations... so that idea doesn't seem right. As you can see, I don't think there is an easy answer (and I've looked for a while). So anybody else got any thoughts?

Need advice or pointers on Release Management Strategies

I look after an internal web based (Java, JSP, Mediasurface, etc.) system that is in constant use (24/5). Users raise tickets for enhancements, bug fixes and other business changes. These issues are signed off individually and assigned to one of three or four developers. Once the issue is complete it is built and the code only committed to SVN. The changed files (templates, html, classes, jsp) are then copied to a dev server and committed to a different repository from where they are checked out to the UAT server for testing. (this often requires the Tomcat service to be restarted and occasionally the Mediasurface service as well). The users then test and either reject or approve the release. If approved the edited files are checked out to the Live server and the same process as with UAT undertaken. If rejected the developer makes the relevant changes and starts the release process again. This is all done manually without much control. Where different developers are working on similar files, changes sometimes get overwritten by builds done on out of sync code in other cases changes in UAT are moved to live in error as they are mixed up in files associated with a signed off release. I would like to move this to a more controlled and automated process where all source code and output files are held in SVN and releases to Dev, UAT and Live managed by a CI system (We have TeamCity in house for our .NET applications). My question is on how to manage the releases of multiple changes where some will be signed off and moved on and others rejected and returned to the developer. The changes may be on overlapping files and simply merging each release in to a Release Branch means that the rejected changes would have to be backed out of the branch. Is there a way to manage this using SVN and CI or will I simply have to live with the current system.

Django one form for two models
