• Zaypay alternatives for payments using call or sms

  We are currently trying to implement a payment provider in zaypay for paying for services using sms or by calling a number. We already have google checkout and paypal working for regular payments but zaypay is rather inflexible, poorly documented and a pain to setup when you have hundreds of products with varying prices. So my question is, do you know of any other european payment providers that take sms and call payments? As a response to Roberts answer/question Hi Robert, I must say that the Zaypay solution is the best and only I've seen thus far regarding phoned payments. However, since its now 2 months ago I finished the implementation of our custom Zaypay UI I can't remember much of the the details of the problems we were having. I'll try to give a brief of them anyways the best I can. First of all I would like to see a redirection type scenario for payalogues. From what I remember you guys are using the JS framework "Prototype" which doesn't play nice with jQuery which we are using so we weren't able to use the popup-type scenario supported by payalogues. Furthermore when implementing our custom interface I remember a lot of missing translations, like words that were codes instead of a word or a phrase. This meant we ended up writing/translating all the messages we needed ourselves. Also, another point of annoyance was the setup of prices and items. I wish we could just send in the order items/prices as a part of the interface like you can in Google Checkout or PayPal (not that they're flawless either), instead of having to define ALL the items you will ever sell through your admin interface beforehand. As far as I can remember it is virtually impossible to use Zaypay for a multi-item order in its current form. Finally there are, as far as I can tell, some security issues that you have to think about when you implement a custom solution... especially a ajax driven one. As I said in my original post you do mention this in the documentation but I believe the documentation wasn't that comprehensive regarding security issues. Again I wish I could give more details but the code & client is long since gone, so I can't look up the comments I wrote. Sorry! Oh yeah, the general API documentation weren't exactly comprehensive and 100% correct either. Again, I don't want to advice people against using Zaypay, I just want to advice that they should try it out first on a realistic prototype and think about their implementation before releasing to production. Maybe its just me who misunderstood a lot of things but I generally had a difficult time using your framework and I was left with a feeling that the API was very new and not thought through from the beginning.

  I am currently building a custom Membership Provider for my Asp.net MVC website. I have an existing database with a Users table and I'm using Linq-to-Sql to automatically generates this class for me. What I would like to do is have this generated User class inherit from the MembershipUser class so I can more easily use it in my custom Membership Provider in methods such as GetUser. I already have all the necessary columns in the table. Is there any way to do this? Or am I going about this the completely wrong way? Thanks!

• JqGrid updating grid on add

  Scenario: I have three columns in my grid but only one is editable, the other two are filled in on the server side. I am using the built in add functionality of jqGrid and NOT refreshing the grid on successfully add. I would like to have the row added to the grid, like it does automatically, but would like to add it myself because it only adds the one column that is marked 'editable'. I cannot seem to find a way to block the row from being automatically added to the grid, or a way to override the built in add functionality in the grid. My idea was to add the row myself because I will have received back the full row of data back on my submit. Questions: Is there a way to stop the grid from automatically adding the row when I do not want a grid refresh, so that I can manually add all the data for the row? Is it possible to use the built in add button and override the onClick, without digging and and directly figuring out what jqGrid calls the button? Any better ideas on how to accomplish getting the row added to the grid from the server side without doing it all manually...ie. create my own add button, and popup a dialog and handle all the submit functionality? EDIT What would help is if I could stop the grid from auto adding the row...I can deal with doing it myself.

• How to include simple collections in ConfigurationSection

  Is there a way for me to include a simple array of strings, or List<string> on my custom subclass of ConfigurationSection? (Or an array or generic list of simple data objects, for that matter?) I'm becoming familiar with the new (and VERY verbose) ConfigurationSection, ConfigurationElement, and ConfigurationElementCollection classes, but I'm by no means an expert yet. It seems like ConfigurationSection should handle simple collections/lists on its own, without me having to create a custom ConfigurationElementCollection subclass for each and every one. But I haven't found any reference to this ability online.

• I need a true mouseOver...

  Ok, so mouseOver and RollOver, and their respective outs work great as long as your mouse is actually over the item, or one of it's children. My problem is that I may have another UI component "between" my mouse and the item I want to process the mouse/rollover(maybe a button that is on top of a canvas, but is not a child of the canvas). The mouse is still over the component, there's just something else that it's over at the same time. Any tips or help how to deal with this? Let me know if I'm not being clear enough. • Puting contact number into field

  I have this code that has one button that let's me choose an entry from contacts, and passes that choesn contact to onActivityResult function. My question is how do I select data of that single contact when all that is passed is an Intent in data variable. That data variable, if converted to string shows something like "dat: content://contacts/people/4" so I see that selected contact is somehow passed, but what now? How to get that data? And also all I found by googling was examples with deprecated class People, so I don't know how too use new classes. Please help. • Dynamically created controls and the ASP.NET page lifecycle

  I'm working on an ASP.NET project in which the vast majority of the forms are generated dynamically at run time (form definitions are stored in a DB for customizability). Therefore, I have to dynamically create and add my controls to the Page every time OnLoad fires, regardless of IsPostBack. This has been working just fine and .NET takes care of managing ViewState for these controls. protected override void OnLoad(EventArgs e) { base.OnLoad(e); RenderDynamicControls() } private void RenderDynamicControls(){ //1. call service layer to retrieve form definition //2. create and add controls to page container } I have a new requirement in which if a user clicks on a given button (this button is created at design time) the page should be re-rendered in a slightly different way. So in addition to the code that executes in OnLoad (i.e. RenderDynamicControls()), I have this code: protected void MyButton_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { RenderDynamicControlsALittleDifferently() } private void RenderDynamicControlsALittleDifferently() (){ //1. clear all controls from the page container added in RenderDynamicControls() //2. call service layer to retrieve form definition //3. create and add controls to page container } My question is, is this really the only way to accomplish what I'm after? It seems beyond hacky to effectively render the form twice simply to respond to a button click. I gather from my research that this is simply how the page-lifecycle works in ASP.NET: Namely, that OnLoad must fire on every Postback before child events are invoked. Still, it's worthwhile to check with the SO community before having to drink the kool-aid. On a related note, once I get this feature completed, I'm planning on throwing an UpdatePanel on the page to perform the page updates via Ajax. Any code/advice that make that transition easier would be much appreciated. Thanks

• Direct show video renderers suck?

  So I've been looking into the world of media playback for windows and I've started making a C# Media Player using DirectShow. I started off using the VRM-7 windowed video renderer and it was brilliant except it had a couple of small problems (multi monitors, fullscreen). But after some research I found that it's deprecated and I should be using VRM9. So I changed it to use VRM9 windowless then found out that was an old post rofl _< so finally I'm using Vista/Win7 (or XP .net 3) Enhanced Video Renderer (EVR) which is apparently the most up to date Microsoft video renderer and has all the flashy performance/quality things added to it. (tbh I haven't noticed any difference but maybe I need a blue-ray or HQ video to notice it). With using EVR everything is working fine except resizing the video. Its really laggy/choppy/teary and problem something to do with its frame queueing mechanism. To demonstrate my problem open up windows media player classic. View - Options - Playback - output Chose the "EVR" DirectShow Video renderer Now restart wmp class and play a video, while it's playing click and drag a corner to resize it. You'll notice its horribly laggy. This is the exact same problem i am having. But if you chose "EVR Custom Pres. *" or EVR Sync *" resizing works beautifully! So i tried googling around for anything about EVR resizing issues and how to fix it but i couldn't believe how little i could find. I'm guessing "Custom Pres." stands for "Custom Presenter" which sounds like they made their own. Also you'll notice on the right hand size when you swap between EVR and the other EVR's the Resizer drop down on the right greys out. So basically I wan't to know how I can fix this retarded resizing problem and is there any decent documentation out there? There is a fair bit for VMR7/9 but not much for EVR. I downloaded the DirectX SDK which apparently has samples but it was a waste of 500mb of bandwidth as it had nothing relevant. Perhaps there is some way to force it not queueing up frames if that is the problem? If you want code say the word and I'll paste some in. But it's really quite simple and nothing much happens, i'm convinced it's a problem with the EVR renderer. EDIT: Oh and one other thing, what does VLC use? If you go into vlc options and change the renderer to anything but default, they all suck. So is it using VMR7? Or its own?

• I need to get form data from multiple forms on one page using $_POST

  My project is a menu that displays daily specials at a cafe. The Pointy Haired Boss(PHB) needs to add/remove items from the menu on a daily basis, so I stored all dishes with MySQL, and created a page which will load all menu items as buttons. When clicked, the button will UPDATE the item, turning it on or off. I need form data to detect which button was pressed, so my query knows which $menuItem to UPDATE. • addChild, etc. using NSTreeController and NSTreeNode (snow leopard)

  I have a setup with an object (OTNodeDatum) (OT for OutlineTest) to be the represented object in NSTreeNode. NSTreeNode is the Class shown in the attributes page for NSTreeController. I have document based app, no core data. On MyDocument init, I set up content with an NSMutableArray containing one item, an NSTreeNode with a represented object which contains a single property (yes, name). Add button, Add Child button, Delete button, hooked up via interface builder to the NSTreeController add action, etc. It works up to a point. When I do an add, I get a new blank line which I can edit, but the inserted text goes away when I leave the cell. When I do a delete, things get deleted. When I do add child, nothing happens. I think I have to subclass either NSTreeNode, or NSTreeController to get the right behavior in terms of adding children and adding a new represented object in addition to adding a new tree node. IS this on the right track? If I subclass NSTreeController would I just override the add, addChild, to get the right thing to happen? And what could I mess up? I can't seem to find any guidance on this, although I've spent a long time looking. Thanks. John V

• Getting "on the wire" Size of Messages in WCF

  While I'm making SOAP or REST invocations to WCF, I'd like to have the channel stack on either end (client and server) record the on-the-wire size of the data received. So I'm guessing I need to add a custom behavior to the channel stack on either side. That is, on the server side I'd record the IP-header advertised size that was received. On the client side I'd record the IP-header advertised size that was returned from the server. But this presupposes that this information is visible to a custom WCF behavior at the channel stack level. Perhaps it is only visible at the level of ASP.NET (at a layer beneath WCF)? In short, does anyone have any further insight on if and how this information is accessible? I must qualify that this "size" data will be collected in a production environment, as part of regular business logic calls. This question is related to my earlier bandwidth question.

• Adding Existing Framework to Xcode (iPhone) error

  I have added the <QuartzCore/QuartzCore.h> to my Frameworks folder in my iPhone project and added the #import "<QuartzCore/QuartzCore.h>" statement at the top of a custom UIView class. However the custom UIView class gives me a "No such file or directory" compliation error in relation to the <QuartzCore/QuartzCore.h> framework. Is there something else I need to set so that the compiler can see the framework. I'm not expert on the Xcode IDE so any assistance would be extremely welcome.

• How VerticalOffset changes when Scrollable height changes while having list inside a list

  I am making a WP7 app which has a Listbox of UserControls. Each UserControl has an ItemsControl and Button(for getting more results). On click of the button the ItemsControl items will be increased by 5 or 10. Now on clicking on the GetMore button of any of the usercontrols except the first or last, there will be an increase in Scrollable height(Total height of the listbox) of the ListBox but the VerticalOffset(position of scrollbar from top) of the ListBox remains same. Now the problem I am facing is that the Vertical Offset is not absolute but relative to Scrollable Height. So the content being viewed till then will be changed basing on the new value of ScollableHeight. I want to know the relation between them, so that I can do some math and set the VerticalOffset value. I have added some dependency properties on VerticalOffset and ScrollableHeight through which I can get the events when any of them is changed. Also trying to use them to readjust the VerticalOffset. Any suggestions or corrections are highly appreciated.

  I've been trying to set the value of a hidden field in a form using jQuery, but without success. Here is a sample code that explains the problem. If I keep the input type to "text", it works without any trouble. • How to create a semi transparent window in WPF that allows mouse events to pass through

  I am trying to create an effect similar to the Lights out /lights dim feature in Adobe Lightroom (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=87hNd3vaENE) except in WPF. What I tried was to create another window over-top of my existing window, make it transparent and put a semi transparent Path geometry on it. But I want mouse events to be able to pass through this semi transparent window (on to windows below). So far so good. The IsHitTestvisible is set to false on the path object. So mouse events will pass through it to other controls on the same form (ie you can click on the Button, because it is on the same form). But mouse events wont pass through the Path object onto windows that are below it. Any ideas? Or better ways to solve this problem? Thanks.

  Hi, in Drupal I have used CCK to add a datetime field to my custom data type. It inserts start date and end date fields. That is what I want. Now, I want Views to filter and show only the items that have the daterange (start date and end date) overlapping today's date. Any ideas on how to set it up on Views? What I think is strange is that the date fields of my custom content type don't seem to appear on the Views list when I am trying to add a filter. Thanks.

• Wordpress order/sort problem

  Hi, The Problem: I would like to sort my posts based on custom fields, when the user clicks on a link. I don't know if there is a parameter that can be passed via url to reorder posts. Comparison: I would like it to work similar to how you can sort songs in iTunes. The user simply clicks the "Artist" button and the songs are reorder alphabetically by artist's name. Example: The custom field could be the location where I was when I wrote the post. "Location = home" or "Location = office" etc. When the user click a links the page is reload with the posts reordered. Posts from home before ones from the office. Thanks for the help.

• Separate functionality depending on Role in ASP.NET MVC

  I'm looking for an elegant pattern to solve this problem: I have several user roles in my system, and for many of my controller actions, I need to deal with slightly different data. For example, take /Users/Edit/1 This allows a Moderator to edit a users email address, but Administrators to edit a user's email address and password. I'd like a design for separating the two different bits of action code for the GET and the POST. Solutions I've come up with so far are: Switch inside each method, however this doesn't really help when i want different model arguments on the POST :( Custom controller factory which chooses a UsersController_ForModerators and UsersController_ForAdmins instead of just UsersController from the controller name and current user role Custom action invoker which choose the Edit_ForModerators method in a similar way to above Have an IUsersController and register a different implementation of it in my IoC container as a named instance based on Role Build an implementation of the controller at runtime using Castle DynamicProxy and manipulate the methods to those from role-based implementations Im preferring the named IoC instance route atm as it means all my urls/routing will work seamlessly. Ideas? Suggestions?

  I'm making a set of screens similar to a wizard and I'd like to know how to make a view dismiss itself and its parent view and immediately show a 'DoneScreen' without worrying about resource leaks. My views look like the following: Base -> Level1 -> DoneScreen -> Level2 -> DoneScreen The Level1 controller is a navigation controller created with a view.xib and shown with [self presentModalViewController ...] by the Base controller. The Level1 controller is also responsible for creating the 'DoneScreen' which may be shown instead of the Level2 Screen based on a certain criteria. When the user taps a button on the screen, the Level1 controller instantiates the the Level2 controller and it displays it via [self.navigationController pushViewController ..] and Level2 controller's view has a 'Next' button. When the use hits the 'Next' button in the Level2 screen, I need to dismiss the current Level2's view as well as the Level1's view and display the 'DoneScreen', which would have been created and passed in to the Level2 controller from Level1. (partly to reduce code duplication, and partly to separate responsibilities among the controllers) In the Level2 controller, if I show the 'DoneScreen' first and dismiss itself with [self.navigationController popViewControllerAnimated:YES]; then the Level1 controller's modal view is still present above the 'Base' but under the Done screen. What's a good way to clear out all of these views except the Base and then show the 'DoneScreen'? Any good suggestions on how to get this done in a simple but elegant manner?

  Hello, I'm not sure how to explain this without writing several pages so I hope the actual code is more expressive. I've made a jar containing multiple annotation declaration similar to the following: @Target(ElementType.PACKAGE) @Retention(RetentionPolicy.RUNTIME) public @interface MarkedPackage { } then I have made a test jar containing several classes in several packages and marked just one package with the above annotation (with package-info.java) like below: @myPackage.MarkedPackage package package.test.jar; this jar had in its build path the jar containing the annotations. then I made a static class that has a method (LoadPlugins) that retrieves a list with all the jars of a directory. Then it searches through the jars for the 'package-info' class and checks if that classes package contains the MarkedPackage annotation. by calling this: if (checkPackageAnnotation(thisClass.getPackage())) where thisClass is the package-info class retrieved via a classloader. and: public static boolean checkPackageAnnotation(AnnotatedElement elem) { System.out.println(elem.getAnnotations().length); if (elem == null || !elem.isAnnotationPresent(MarkedPackage.class)) return false; return true; } the elem.getAnnotatios().length is there for debug purposes. And the problem appears when I call the method from the static class: if I call it from a main function: public class MyMain { public static void main(String[] args){ PluginUtils.LoadPlugins(); } } everything works perfectly it displays '1' from that System.out.println(elem.getAnnotations().length); But if I call it from a button from my Vaadin project: header.addComponent(new Button("CallThat", new Button.ClickListener() { public void buttonClick(ClickEvent event) { PluginUtils.LoadPlugins(); } })); It displays '0' from that System.out.println(elem.getAnnotations().length); Also I should mention that I created the main inside my Vaadin project so it would have the exact same build path and resources. I would like to switch themes from app (between White (Theme.Light.NoTitleBar) and Dark (Theme.Black.NoTitleBar)) and what I do is: I set a SharedPreference: final String PREFS_NAME = "MyPrefsFile"; final SharedPreferences settings = getSharedPreferences(PREFS_NAME, 0); final SharedPreferences.Editor editor = settings.edit(); and than I have a two buttons to switch themes (second one is almost identical) Button ThemeWhite = (Button) findViewById(R.id.ThemeWhite); ThemeWhite.setOnClickListener(new OnClickListener() { public void onClick(View v) { editor.putBoolean("Theme", false); editor.commit(); System.exit(2); } }); and in begging of each activity I check SharedPreference boolean theme = settings.getBoolean("Theme", false); if(theme){ this.setTheme(R.style.Theme_NoBarBlack); } else{ this.setTheme(R.style.Theme_NoBar); } setContentView(R.layout.aplikacja); I define themes in file styles.xml in folder values: <resources> <style name="Theme.NoBar" parent="@android:style/Theme.Light.NoTitleBar" /> <style name="Theme.NoBarBlack" parent="@android:style/Theme.NoActionBar" /> in values-v11: <resources> <style name="Theme.NoBar" parent="@android:style/Theme.Holo.Light.NoActionBar" /> <style name="Theme.NoBarBlack" parent="@android:style/Theme.Holo.NoActionBar" /> in values-v14: <resources> <style name="Theme.NoBar" parent="@android:style/Theme.DeviceDefault.Light.NoActionBar" /> <style name="Theme.NoBarBlack" parent="@android:style/Theme.DeviceDefault.NoActionBar" /> manifest file: <application android:theme="@style/Theme.NoBar" > Everything is working excellent on android 4.0 but when I use 2.2 it doesn't change theme - just font is getting white as it should be but there is no dark background. I tried checking if it at least works and changed Theme.NoBarBlack in values (for android <3.0) and its value the same as Theme.NoBar and then when I pressed button font wasn't changed -as it should do.
