• How can I prevent git push if local modifications are detected (including untracked files)?

  Sometimes someone on our team does a git push and breaks the build because his local build works but he has forgotten to commit all his local modifications and untracked files to git before he pushes. I'd like to prevent this... I poured over the docs for an hour or so today and couldn't find anything built in. Does anyone have any solutions?

Not all the developers on the team have the Windows SDK installed. I know with it you can target down to Windows XP, but any idea what you can target without Windows SDK?

  I am using Google motion-charts in a web-site developed in python/django. Is there a way to save the rendered view of a google motion-chart as an image (server-side)? For the more basic chart types - such as scatter diagrams - the command chart.download('scatter-random-marker-sizes.png') works fine, but I have not found an equivalent for motion charts.

• My Perforce Eclipse Plugin works only partially

  Hi all, I installed Perforce plugin version 3.4 on Eclipse Ganymede, configured my connection and workspace. My perforce perspective works just fine. However, when I work in the Java perspective, and I right-click any file in the project explorer, the "Team" context menu does not display the perforce options to check-out, sync etc. It only has the options "Apply patch" and "Show local history". This is super-annoying! Help, anyone?

  One of my (my team's) biggest peeves with VS2008 is the slow speed in which ascx load. It could take up to a couple minutes to do something as simple as a text or style change simply because of the time it takes to load an ascx page into the visual studio text editor. Half the time I'm tempted to check out the file, edit it in notepad, then check it back in. Is there any trick to speeding this up?
