  • Cancel the calculation if input-mismatch was found

    - by Lert Pianapitham
Hallo everybody, i have programmed a sub procedure, that will be called in the main procedure (called by event of mainForm), to valid the inputs before the main calculation. now i'm searching for a method, how can i cancel the calculation and refocus the mainForm if some inputs mismatch. i think, it's unnecessary to use the Try-Catch statment to trap the error from calculation because i know what is its source and it should be prevented due to the code preformance. Has someone an idea to due with this? best regards Lert Pianapitham

  • Where does code within Script tags go in the resulting AS class?

    - by Hanno Fietz
I was wondering what happens to the code contained in an <mx:Script> tag. If I define a function tehre, it just becomes a member function of the generated class. But I noticed that it seems OK for the compiler if I just write some (static) method calls there (specifically, I call Font.registerFont()). I feel kind of guilty for doing this, because I have no idea what's really happening and when the code gets executed.

  • Create a custom button

    - by Beppi Menozzi
Sorry if this is too basic. I created a new class that extends Button: public class MyButton extends Button { private Context ctx; public MyButton(Context context) { super(context); ctx = context; } private void click() { // DO WHAT I NEED (FOR EXAMPLE CHANGE BACKGROUND) } } How can make it possible that, when I setOnClickListener() from another class where I instantiated this object, the click() method is called automatically? Thanks.

  • What is the .NET equivalent of PHP var_dump?

    - by George Mauer
I remember seeing a while ago that there is some method in maybe the Reflection namespace that would recursively run ToString() on all of an object's properties and format it nicely for display. Yes, I know everything I could want will be accessible through the debugger, but I'm wondering if anyone knows that command?

  • Empty String API arguments for actionwebservice received as "SOAP::Mapping::Object" instead of ""

    - by user311985
I've built an API using actionwebservice and when a client calls a method to pass in an empty string (""), it's to_s value is # instead of "". But when the client passes in "hello", it's to_s value is "hello". class UsersApiController < ApiController web_service_api UserApi def create_or_update(arg1) Rails.logger.info arg1.to_s # Displays "#<SOAP::Mapping::Object:0x3a89c08>" if arg1 is an empty string end end

  • before_filter with dynamic information

    - by Lauren
Hi I am trying to add a filter to a controller that is based on a certain role (using role_requirement) and then on the company_id that each user has. So basically I need something like this: require_role "company" ** This is working fine before_filter :company_required def company_required unless current_user.company_id == Company.find(params[:id]) end end The error I am receiving undefined method `company_id' for nil:NilClass I would appreciate any guidance. Thanks

  • Entity Framework 4.0 GetChanges() equivalent

    - by Jonathan
Hi In LINQ to SQL, you can override SubmitChanges and use the method this.GetChangeSet() to get all the inserts, updates and deletes so that you can make last minute changes before it is committed to the database. Can this be done in EF 4.0? I see there is a override for SaveChanges but I need to know the equivalent for GetChangeSet()

  • Why closed contours are guaranteed here?

    - by user198729
Quoted from here: BW = edge(I,'zerocross',thresh,h) specifies the zero-cross method, using the filter h. thresh is the sensitivity threshold; if the argument is empty ([]), edge chooses the sensitivity threshold automatically. If you specify a threshold of 0, the output image has closed contours, because it includes all the zero crossings in the input image. I don't understand it,can someone elaborate?

  • Navigate HTML Source while performing WatiN tests

    - by youwhut
I am performing actions on the page during WatiN tests. What is the neatest method for asserting certain elements are where they should be by evaluating the HTML source? I am scraping the source but looking for a clean way to navigate the tags pulled back. UPDATE: Right now I am thinking about grabbing certain elements within HTML source using regular expressions and then analysing that to see if other elements exist within. Other thoughts appreciated.

  • Is it a bad programming practice to have "Public" members inside an "Internal" class?

    - by Amby
I mean, won;t it be more specific and appropriate if i "only" keep "protected","internal" and "private" members (field, method, property, event) in a class which is declared as "internal" ? I have seen this practice ( having "public" members in an "internal" class) in various code so just wanted to know is it a bad practice or does it has some benefit or advantage. [Only concerned about C#] Thanks for your interest.

  • What are the standard practices for throwing JavasScript Exceptions?

    - by T.R.
w3schools says that exceptions can be strings, integers, booleans, or objects, but the example given doesn't strike me as good practice, since exception type checking is done through string comparison. Is this the preferred method of exception handling in JavaScript? Are there built-in exception types (like NullPointerException)? (if so, what are they, what kind of inheritance do they use, and are they preferred over other options?)
