  • Multible jquery .load() methods not running concurrently in MVC 2

    - by Boob
In one of my aspx pages i have something like this in the head: <script type="text/javascript"> $(function() { // Jquery stuff loadStuff(); }); function loadStuff() { $('#result1').load({ source: url }); $('#result2').load({ source: url }); $('#result3').load({ source: url }); }; </script> The idea being that as the page is being displayed these loads will populate the specified divs with results from different webservices as and when the info becomes available. My problem is that this requests are being queued and being sent one at a time. However I want these to be sent at the same time and whichever returns first gets displayed first! Also if I try to kick off another request while these divs are loading the request seems to get queued after the others. How do I make these requests concurrent instead of queued? Thanks

  • How can i solve "0 " value try to get length value?

    - by Phsika
    if i try to add int value into array with string length Whole data is "0" why? and how can solve it? for (int j = 0; j < dTable.Columns.Count; j++) for (int i = 0; i < dTable.Rows.Count; i++) { mycounter[i] = dTable.Rows[i][j].ToString().Length; } it is not related to mycounter because: string test = ""; foreach(DataColumn dc in dTable.Columns) for (int i = 0; i < dTable.Rows.Count; i++) { // MessageBox.Show(dTable.Rows[i][dc].ToString()); test = dTable.Rows[i][dc].ToString().Length.ToString(); }

  • DotNet Get User Operating System (HTTP_USER_AGENT)

    - by rockinthesixstring
I'm looking at building an exhaustive function that returns a friendly name for the Users Operating System. I think I have most of the Windows stuff down, but I'm not sure about Linux, OSX, and others. Does anyone know where I can find an exhaustive list of HTTP_USER_AGENT's 'Gets the users operating system Public Shared Function GetUserOS() As String Dim strAgent As String = HttpContext.Current.Request.ServerVariables("HTTP_USER_AGENT") 'Windows OS's If InStr(strAgent, "Windows NT 6.1") Then : Return "Windows 7" ElseIf InStr(strAgent, "Windows NT 6.0") Then : Return "Windows Vista" ElseIf InStr(strAgent, "Windows NT 5.2") Then : Return "Windows Server 2003" ElseIf InStr(strAgent, "Windows NT 5.1") Then : Return "Windows XP" ElseIf InStr(strAgent, "Windows NT 5.0") Then : Return "Windows 2000" ElseIf InStr(strAgent, "Windows 98") Then : Return "Windows 98" ElseIf InStr(strAgent, "Windows 95") Then : Return "Windows 95" 'Mac OS's ElseIf InStr(strAgent, "Mac OS X") Then : Return "Mac OS X" 'Linux OS's ElseIf InStr(strAgent, "Linux") Then : Return "Linux" Else : Return "Unknown" End If End Function 'GetUserOS

Why does this happens? what is the solution?

  • Why is Attributes.IsDefined() missing overloads?

    - by Hans Passant
Inspired by an SO question. The Attribute class has several overloads for the IsDefined() method. Covered are attributes applied to Assembly, Module, MemberInfo, ParameterInfo. The MemberInfo overload covers PropertyInfo, FieldInfo, EventInfo, MethodInfo, ConstructorInfo. That takes care of most of the AttributeTargets. Except for one biggy: there is no overload for Attribute.IsDefined(Type, Type) so that you could check if an attribute is defined on a class. Or a struct, delegate or enum for that matter. Not that this is a real problem, Type.GetCustomAttributes() can fix that. But all of the BlahInfo types have this too. I wonder at the lack of symmetry. I can't put a finger on why this would be problem for Type. Guessing at an inheritance problem doesn't explain it to me. Having ValueType in the mix might be a lead, still doesn't make sense. I don't buy "they forgot", they never do. Why is this overload missing?

  • Compress small strings, With what to create external dictionary?

    - by Chris
I want to compress much small strings (about 75-100 length c# string). At the time the dictionary is created I already know all short strings (nearly a trillion). There will no additional short strings in future. I need to extra exactly one string without decompress other strings. Now I am looking for a library or the best way to do the following: Create a dictionary using all strings I have Using this dictionary to compress each string a way to compress one string using the dictionary from 1. I found a good related question, but this is not c# specific. Maybe there is something for c# I do not know, or a fancy library or someone has already done that. That is the reason I ask this question.

  • NUnit [Test] is not a valid attribute

    - by tyndall
    I've included the necessary assemblies into a Windows Class project in VS2008. When I start to try to write a test I get a red squiggle line and the message [Test] is not a valid attribute. I've used NUnit before... maybe an earlier version. What am I doing wrong? I'm on version 2.5.2. using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text; using NUnit; using NUnit.Core; using NUnit.Framework; namespace AccessPoint.Web.Test { public class LoginTests { [Test] public void CanLogin() { } } }

  • For which substring of the string1 matches occurred with the string2.

    - by Harikrishna
I want to know that in particular string1 for which substring of the string1 the string2 matches.Like String str1="Order Number Order Time Trade Number"; String str2="Order Tm"; string regex = Regex.Escape(str2.Replace(@"\ ", @"\s*"); bool isColumnNameMatched = Regex.IsMatch(str1, regex, RegexOptions.IgnoreCase); I am using regex because "Order Tm" will also matches "Order Time".It gives bool value that matches occurred or not. But if it str2 is in str1 then I want to know at which position in the str1 the str2 matches. Like str2="Order Tm" then something like that returns the string which is matched with str2 in the str1.Here str2="Order Tm" then it should return like in the str1,Order Time is the substring where matches is occurred.

  • Any way for linq query to check against existing select?

    - by danrhul
I have an an offer, that can be in any number of categories. I don't however want that offer to then appear twice or however more. I was wondering if its possible to have a where clause that ascertains whether that offer already exists in that select statement and if so obviously to ignore it. Here is the linq query: Offers = from o in offerCategories orderby o.RewardCategory.Ordering, o.Order where o.RewardOffer.IsDeleted == false select new OfferOverviewViewModel { Partner = o.RewardOffer.Partner, Description = String.Format("{0} {1}", o.RewardOffer.MainTitle, o.RewardOffer.SecondaryTitle), OfferId = o.OfferId, FeaturedOffer = o.RewardOffer.FeaturedOfferOrder.HasValue, Categories = from c in offerCategories.Where(oc => oc.OfferId == o.OfferId) orderby c.RewardCategory.Ordering select new CategoryDetailViewModel { Description = c.RewardCategory.DisplayName } },

  • PhotobucketNet photo upload

    - by n1tr0
I have a problem with PhotobucketNet user login(I need user to login so I can upload a picture from HDD to his Photobucket account). Photobucket photobucket = new Photobucket("myapikey", "myapisecret"); photobucket.LaunchUserLogin(); // the problem happens here photobucket.RequestUserToken(); If I call RequestUserToken() it will happen immediately, so I'll get a crash cause user didn't logged in, and there is no event that's been raised after user logs in. Is there some variable(bool or something else) that I can check to see if user logged in - maybe to put it in a loop with timer? Also is their a way to know if user canceled logging in? I know that timer isn't a good solution, so if anyone has anything better as an idea, I'm open for any suggestions...

  • Friendly way to parse XDocument

    - by Oli
I have a class that various different XML schemes are created from. I create the various dynamic XDocuments via one (Very long) statement using conditional operators for optional elements and attributes. I now need to convert the XDocuments back to the class but as they are coming from different schemes many elements and sub elements may be optional. The only way I know of doing this is to use a lot of if statements. This approach doesn't seem very LINQ and uses a great deal more code than when I create the XDocument so I wondered if there is a better way to do this? An example would be to get <?xml version="1.0"?> <root xmlns="somenamespace"> <object attribute1="This is Optional" attribute2="This is required"> <element1>Required</element1> <element1>Optional</element1> <List1> Optional List Of Elements </List1> <List2> Required List Of Elements </List2> </object> </root> Into public class Object() { public string Attribute1; public string Attribute2; public string Element1; public string Element2; public List<ListItem1> List1; public List<ListItem2> List2; } In a more LINQ friendly way than this: public bool ParseXDocument(string xml) { XNamespace xn = "somenamespace"; XDocument document = XDocument.Parse(xml); XElement elementRoot = description.Element(xn + "root"); if (elementRoot != null) { //Get Object Element XElement elementObject = elementRoot.Element(xn + "object"); if(elementObject != null) { if(elementObject.Attribute(xn + "attribute1") != null) { Attribute1 = elementObject.Attribute(xn + "attribute1"); } if(elementObject.Attribute(xn + "attribute2") != null) { Attribute2 = elementObject.Attribute(xn + "attribute2"); } else { //This is a required Attribute so return false return false; } //If, If/Elses get deeper and deeper for the next elements and lists etc.... } else { //Object is a required element so return false return false; } } else { //Root is a required element so return false return false; } return true; } Update: Just to clarify the ParseXDocument method is inside the "Object" class. Every time an xml document is received the Object class instance has some or all of it's values updated.

  • How to generalize view?

    - by MexicanHacker
Hey guys, I'm in the process of designing a set of views that use the same model in my app, the difference is that some views will differ in Read Only and Modifiable fields. So for example for view A I want to be able to modify A.One but no A.Two properties and for view B I want to have B.One and B.Two as modifiable fields. I was thinking in having a map that will hold this information and iterate both the modifiable and non-modifiable lists in a generic view, but I was thinking that maybe I can get feedback from you guys. What do you think?

  • How to select ComboBox value after Data filled from DataSource

    - by Amadeus45
Hi, I would like to set the selected value to a known value. However, after InititializeComponent() has been called, the data is not yet filled in a databound Combobox so I can't set my selected value there. Which event is triggered when the data has finished to be added in the combobox from the databound object ? Is there any other way you would suggest handling this ? Many thanks

  • Render view as string when Ajax request to view is made

    - by mare
I have my views render to route requests like /controller/action (for instance, /Page/Create), so pretty classic. I am creating a form where view will be loaded through AJAX request with jQuery get(), so essentially I need my Views or to be precise, my controller actions, to return plain HTML string when an AJAX request is made to the route that renders the View. I want to use the same views as for normal requests, so I cannot afford to create any new views. It is something like calling RenderPartial("MyViewUserControl") but from inside the JS code.

  • WPF Button on or off coloured state

    - by wonea
I'm trying to create a set of button which have an off or on state, much a checkbox without the check. Ideally I want the colour to change to represent the two different states off(red), green(on). I've tried setting a control template but this only changes the colour for a selection, then reverts back to it's original colour once the mouse leaves the button's vicinity. <ControlTemplate.Triggers> <Trigger Property="IsPressed" Value="True"> <Setter Property="Background" TargetName="Background" Value="Green"/> </Trigger> </ControlTemplate.Triggers>
