  • Java & Tomcat: SQL JDBC/JNDI Exceptions

    - by user267581
I am deploying a webapp from eclipse to tomcat. I am having an issue with my application and JNDI lookups. When the app tries to load the JNDI resource I am this stacktrace: javax.naming.ServiceUnavailableException [Root exception is java.rmi.ConnectException: Connection refused to host: localhost; nested exception is: java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect] at com.sun.jndi.rmi.registry.RegistryContext.lookup(RegistryContext.java:101) at javax.naming.InitialContext.lookup(InitialContext.java:396) at org.objectweb.carol.jndi.spi.AbsContext.lookup(AbsContext.java:134) at org.objectweb.carol.jndi.spi.AbsContext.lookup(AbsContext.java:144) at javax.naming.InitialContext.lookup(InitialContext.java:392) at org.objectweb.carol.jndi.spi.MultiContext.lookup(MultiContext.java:118) at javax.naming.InitialContext.lookup(InitialContext.java:392) at com.theriabook.daoflex.JDBCConnection.getDataSource(JDBCConnection.java:61) at com.theriabook.daoflex.JDBCConnection.getConnection(JDBCConnection.java:73) at com.aramark.data.UsersDAO.doLogin(UsersDAO.java:751) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:39) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:25) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:597) at flex.messaging.services.remoting.adapters.JavaAdapter.invoke(JavaAdapter.java:406) at flex.messaging.services.RemotingService.serviceMessage(RemotingService.java:183) at flex.messaging.MessageBroker.routeMessageToService(MessageBroker.java:1417) at flex.messaging.endpoints.AbstractEndpoint.serviceMessage(AbstractEndpoint.java:878) at com.farata.remoting.CustomAMFEndpoint.serviceMessage(CustomAMFEndpoint.java:23) at flex.messaging.endpoints.amf.MessageBrokerFilter.invoke(MessageBrokerFilter.java:121) at flex.messaging.endpoints.amf.LegacyFilter.invoke(LegacyFilter.java:158) at flex.messaging.endpoints.amf.SessionFilter.invoke(SessionFilter.java:49) at flex.messaging.endpoints.amf.BatchProcessFilter.invoke(BatchProcessFilter.java:67) at flex.messaging.endpoints.amf.SerializationFilter.invoke(SerializationFilter.java:146) at flex.messaging.endpoints.BaseHTTPEndpoint.service(BaseHTTPEndpoint.java:274) at flex.messaging.MessageBrokerServlet.service(MessageBrokerServlet.java:377) at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:717) at org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationFilterChain.internalDoFilter(ApplicationFilterChain.java:290) at org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationFilterChain.doFilter(ApplicationFilterChain.java:206) at com.cti.compiler.env.web.CompilerInvocationInterceptor.doFilter(CompilerInvocationInterceptor.java:25) at org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationFilterChain.internalDoFilter(ApplicationFilterChain.java:235) at org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationFilterChain.doFilter(ApplicationFilterChain.java:206) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardWrapperValve.invoke(StandardWrapperValve.java:233) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardContextValve.invoke(StandardContextValve.java:191) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardHostValve.invoke(StandardHostValve.java:128) at org.apache.catalina.valves.ErrorReportValve.invoke(ErrorReportValve.java:102) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardEngineValve.invoke(StandardEngineValve.java:109) at org.apache.catalina.connector.CoyoteAdapter.service(CoyoteAdapter.java:286) at org.apache.coyote.http11.Http11Processor.process(Http11Processor.java:845) at org.apache.coyote.http11.Http11Protocol$Http11ConnectionHandler.process(Http11Protocol.java:583) at org.apache.tomcat.util.net.JIoEndpoint$Worker.run(JIoEndpoint.java:447) at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:619) Caused by: java.rmi.ConnectException: Connection refused to host: localhost; • HttpURLConnection inside a loop

    - by Carlos Garces
Hi! I'm trying to connect to one URL that I know that exist but I don't know when. I don't have access to this server so I can't change anything to receive a event. The actual code is this. URL url = new URL(urlName); for(int j = 0 ; j< POOLING && disconnected; j++){ HttpURLConnection connection = (HttpURLConnection) url.openConnection(); int status = connection.getResponseCode(); if(status == HttpURLConnection.HTTP_OK || status == HttpURLConnection.HTTP_NOT_MODIFIED){ //Some work }else{ //wait 3s Thread.sleep(3000); } } Java not is my best skill and I'm not sure if this code is good from the point of view of performance. I'm opening a new connection every 3 seconds? or the connection is reused? If I call to disconnect() I ensure that no new connections are open in the loop, but... it will impact in performance?. Suggestions? What is the fast/best ways to know it a URL exist?

  • How to block own rpcap traffic where tshark is running?

    - by Pankaj Goyal
Platform :- Fedora 13 32-bit machine RemoteMachine$ ./rpcapd -n ClientMachine$ tshark -w "filename" -i "any interface name" As soon as capture starts without any capture filter, thousands of packets get captured. Rpcapd binds to 2002 port by default and while establishing the connection it sends a randomly chosen port number to the client for further communication. Both client and server machines exchange tcp packets through randomly chosen ports. So, I cannot even specify the capture filter to block this rpcap related tcp traffic. Wireshark & tshark for Windows have an option "Do not capture own Rpcap Traffic" in Remote Settings in Edit Interface Dialog box. But there is no such option in tshark for linux. It will be also better if anyone can tell me how wireshark blocks rpcap traffic....

  • Multiple database with NHibernate

    - by Flint
    Hi, I have two databases. One from Oracle 10g. Another from Mysql. I have configured my web application with Nhibernate for Oracle and now I am in need of using the MySQL database. So how can i configure the hibernate.cfg.xml so that i can use both of the database at the same application? My current hibernate.cfg.xml is: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <hibernate-configuration xmlns="urn:nhibernate-configuration-2.2"> <session-factory> <property name="connection.provider">NHibernate.Connection.DriverConnectionProvider</property> <property name="connection.driver_class">NHibernate.Driver.OracleClientDriver</property> <property name="connection.connection_string">Data Source=xe;Persist Security Info=True;User ID=hr;Password=hr;Unicode=True</property> <property name="show_sql">false</property> <property name="dialect">NHibernate.Dialect.Oracle9Dialect</property> <!-- mapping files --> <mapping assembly="DataTransfer" /> </session-factory> </hibernate-configuration>

  • How to configure SQLite to run with NHibernate where assembly resolves System.Data.SQLite?

    - by Michael Hedgpeth
I am using the latest NHibernate 2.1.0Beta2. I'm trying to unit test with SQLite and have the configuration set up as: Dictionary<string, string> properties = new Dictionary<string, string>(); properties.Add("connection.driver_class", "NHibernate.Driver.SQLite20Driver"); properties.Add("dialect", "NHibernate.Dialect.SQLiteDialect"); properties.Add("connection.provider", "NHibernate.Connection.DriverConnectionProvider"); properties.Add("query.substitutions", "true=1;false=0"); properties.Add("connection.connection_string", "Data Source=test.db;Version=3;New=True;"); properties.Add("proxyfactory.factory_class", "NHibernate.ByteCode.LinFu.ProxyFactoryFactory, NHibernate.ByteCode.LinFu"); configuration = new Configuration(); configuration.SetProperties(properties); When I try to run it, I get the following error: NHibernate.HibernateException: The IDbCommand and IDbConnection implementation in the assembly System.Data.SQLite could not be found. Ensure that the assembly System.Data.SQLite is located in the application directory or in the Global Assembly Cache. If the assembly is in the GAC, use <qualifyAssembly/> element in the application configuration file to specify the full name of the assembly. at NHibernate.Driver.ReflectionBasedDriver..ctor(String driverAssemblyName, String connectionTypeName, String commandTypeName) in c:\CSharp\NH\nhibernate\src\NHibernate\Driver\ReflectionBasedDriver.cs: line 26 at NHibernate.Driver.SQLite20Driver..ctor() in c:\CSharp\NH\nhibernate\src\NHibernate\Driver\SQLite20Driver.cs: line 28 So it looks like I need to reference the assembly directly. How would I do this so I don't get this error anymore? I downloaded the latest assembly from here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/sqlite-dotnet2.

  • Slow performance over network (Ubuntu)

    - by Filipe Santos
i did setup this NodeJs TCP Server and tested it with a message flooder. Just to see how the performance of the server is. While the message throughput is great if i run the server and the message flooder on the same computer (ubuntu), the throughput dramaticaly decreases if i start the server on computer1(ubuntu1) and the message flooder on computer2(also ubuntu). Both PC are on the same network. In fact, they are directly connected to each other. I started searching the internet for reasons and i suppose i need to tune TCP on both Ubuntu-pcs but until now i haven't been successfull at all. Has anyone experienced such problems, or could someone help me out? Thanks Here the flooding code: var net=require('net') var client = net.createConnection(5000, "10.0.0.2") client.addListener("connect", function(){ for(var i = 0; i < 1000; i++) { client.write("message "); } })

  • Iptables based router inside KVM virtual machine

    - by Anton
I have KVM virtual machine (CentOS 6.2 x64), it has 2 NIC: eth0 - real external IP 1.2.3.4 (simplified example instead of real one) eth1 - local internal IP 172.16.0.1 Now I'm trying to make port mapping 1.2.3.4:80 = 172.16.0.2:80 Current iptables rules: # Generated by iptables-save v1.4.7 on Fri Jun 29 17:53:36 2012 *nat :OUTPUT ACCEPT [0:0] :PREROUTING ACCEPT [0:0] :POSTROUTING ACCEPT [0:0] -A POSTROUTING -o eth0 -j MASQUERADE -A PREROUTING -p tcp -m tcp -d 1.2.3.4 --dport 80 -j DNAT --to-destination 172.16.0.2:80 COMMIT # Completed on Fri Jun 29 17:53:36 2012 # Generated by iptables-save v1.4.7 on Fri Jun 29 17:53:36 2012 *mangle :PREROUTING ACCEPT [0:0] :INPUT ACCEPT [0:0] :FORWARD ACCEPT [0:0] :OUTPUT ACCEPT [0:0] :POSTROUTING ACCEPT [0:0] COMMIT # Completed on Fri Jun 29 17:53:36 2012 # Generated by iptables-save v1.4.7 on Fri Jun 29 17:53:36 2012 *filter :INPUT ACCEPT [0:0] :FORWARD ACCEPT [0:0] :OUTPUT ACCEPT [0:0] COMMIT # Completed on Fri Jun 29 17:53:36 2012 But there is nothing works, I mean it does not forwards that port. Similar configuration without virtualization seems to be working. What am I missing? Thanks!

  • Any HTTP proxies with explicit, configurable support for request/response buffering and delayed conn

    - by Carlos Carrasco
When dealing with mobile clients it is very common to have multisecond delays during the transmission of HTTP requests. If you are serving pages or services out of a prefork Apache the child processes will be tied up for seconds serving a single mobile client, even if your app server logic is done in 5ms. I am looking for a HTTP server, balancer or proxy server that supports the following: A request arrives to the proxy. The proxy starts buffering in RAM or in disk the request, including headers and POST/PUT bodies. The proxy DOES NOT open a connection to the backend server. This is probably the most important part. The proxy server stops buffering the request when: A size limit has been reached (say, 4KB), or The request has been received completely, headers and body Only now, with (part of) the request in memory, a connection is opened to the backend and the request is relayed. The backend sends back the response. Again the proxy server starts buffering it immediately (up to a more generous size, say 64KB.) Since the proxy has a big enough buffer the backend response is stored completely in the proxy server in a matter of miliseconds, and the backend process/thread is free to process more requests. The backend connection is immediately closed. The proxy sends back the response to the mobile client, as fast or as slow as it is capable of, without having a connection to the backend tying up resources. I am fairly sure you can do 4-6 with Squid, and nginx appears to support 1-3 (and looks like fairly unique in this respect). My question is: is there any proxy server that empathizes these buffering and not-opening-connections-until-ready capabilities? Maybe there is just a bit of Apache config-fu that makes this buffering behaviour trivial? Any of them that it is not a dinosaur like Squid and that supports a lean single-process, asynchronous, event-based execution model? (Siderant: I would be using nginx but it doesn't support chunked POST bodies, making it useless for serving stuff to mobile clients. Yes cheap 50$ handsets love chunked POSTs... sigh)

  • using iptables to change a destination port but keep the ip the same.

    - by Scott Chamberlain
I am playing around with transparent proxies, The current way I am doing things is the program makes a request to a computer on port 80, I use iptables -t nat -A OUTPUT -p tcp --destination-port 80 -j REDIRECT --to-port 1234 to redirect to my proxy that I am playing with. the proxy will send out a request to port 81 (as all outbound port 80 are being fed back in to the proxy so I want to do something like iptables -t nat -A OUTPUT -p tcp --destination-port 81 -j DNAT --to-destination xxxx:80 The problem lies with the xxxx part. How do I change the destination port without changing changing the destination ip? Or am I doing this setup completely wrong, I am learning after all and constructive criticism is definitely appreciated.

  • Convert C# Silverlight App To AZURE CLOUD Platform?!?!

    - by Goober
The Scenario I've been following Brad Abrams Silverlight tutorial on his blog.... I have tried following Brads "How to deploy your app to the Cloud" tutorial however i'm struggling with it, even though it is in the same context as the first tutorial.... The Question Is the application structure essentially the same as the original "non-cloud based version"!? If not, which parts are different? (I get that there is a Cloud Service project added to the solution) - but what else?! Connection String Issue In my "Non-Cloud based application", I make use of the ADO.Net Entity Framework to communicate with my database. The connection string in my web.config file looks like: <add name="InmZenEntities" connectionString="metadata=res://*/InmZenModel.csdl|res://*/InmZenModel.ssdl|res://*/InmZenModel.msl;provider=System.Data.SqlClient;provider connection string=&quot;Data Source=CHASEDIGITALWS3;Initial Catalog=InmarsatZenith;Integrated Security=True;MultipleActiveResultSets=True&quot;" providerName="System.Data.EntityClient" /></connectionStrings> However However the connection string that I get from SQL AZURE looks like: Server=tcp:k12ioy1rsi.ctp.database.windows.net;Database=master;User ID=simongilbert;Password=myPassword;Trusted_Connection=False; So how do I go about merging the two when I move the "non-cloud based application" to THE CLOUD?! Any help regarding converting a silverlight application to a cloud service and deploying it would be greatly appreciated

  • how to portforward port 7300 from server A to server B

    - by Patrick van Hout
hi, We are using Stunnel. But want to replace it is with an iptables entry if possible. 192.168.123.122:7300 need to be forwarded to 192.168.123.188:7300. So in iptables I set these two entries: [root@dev ~]# iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -p tcp --dport 7300 -j DNAT --to-destination 192.168.123.188:7300 [root@dev ~]# iptables -A FORWARD -m state -p tcp -d 192.168.123.188 --dport 7300 --state NEW,ESTABLISHED,RELATED -j ACCEPT But it isn't working. I did check that /proc/sys/net/ipv4/conf/eth0/forwarding has the value "1" inside. Any tips or hints? thanks, Patrick

  • How can I log all traffic with its exact length?

    - by Legate
I want to process all packets with their size going through our gateway server (running Debian 4.0). My idea is to use tcpdump, but I have two questions. The command I'm currently thinking of is tcpdump -i iface -n -t -q. Is it guaranteed that tcpdump will process all packets? What happens if the CPU is working to full capacity? The format of the output lines is IP ddd.ddd.ddd.ddd.port > ddd.ddd.ddd.ddd.port: tcp 1260. What exactly is 1260? I have the suspicion that it is the payload in bytes of the packet, which would be exactly what I need, but I'm not sure. It might be the TCP Window Size. Or perhaps there is an even better way of doing this? I thought about a LOG rule in iptables, but tcpdump seems easier and I don't know whether iptables can log the packet lengths.

  • MySQL port 3306 became filtered when configured with Keepalived on Ubuntu server 12.04 lts

    - by Ludwig
    I'm configuring two load balancer (lb01 & lb02) with keepalived for my two mysql server (db01 & db02) with standard port 3306. There is virtual ip address (192.168.205.10) to access it also act as failover, but somehow the web server in the front can't access this mysql server using vip. Here is my config: Keepalived: Only the mysql part that i added here. LB01: virtual_server 192.168.205.10 3306 { delay_loop 6 lb_algo rr lb_kind DR protocol TCP real_server 192.168.205.4 3306 { weight 10 TCP_CHECK { connect_port 3306 connect_timeout 2 } } } LB02: virtual_server 192.168.205.10 3306 { delay_loop 6 lb_algo rr lb_kind DR protocol TCP real_server 192.168.205.6 3306 { weight 10 TCP_CHECK { connect_port 3306 connect_timeout 2 } } } I already comment out the "bind-address=127.0.0.1" part in both server my.cnf. Also, remove all the firewall prog from my ubuntu server (ufw or iptables). Any help? thanks.

  • Very Large number of connections in TIME_WAIT state; Server is slow, ipconntrac

    - by Sparsh Gupta
I have a nginx server with load balancing and reverse proxy. Right now its behing another nginx but very soon I plan to make it front, where it will receive TCP connections from clients directly at a rate of 500req/second I am having some big troubles with the server. I have pasted my configurations here and I am kinda sure that the problem is with ipconntrac and similar things which are alient to me http://paste.org/pastebin/view/28543 root@load_balancer:/proc/sys/net/ipv4# netstat -an|awk '/tcp/ {print $6}'|sort|uniq -c 67 CLOSING 727 ESTABLISHED 173 FIN_WAIT1 183 FIN_WAIT2 19 LAST_ACK 5 LISTEN 447 SYN_RECV 1 SYN_SENT 27970 TIME_WAIT Its a ubuntu machine with mainly nginx (load balancer and reverse proxy) installed. It surely isnt great. Can you help me understand whats going on and how can I fix it. This is my live server and I am sure its in a bad shape right now. Any document or commands to fix this, or settings I should make to make this better and reduce time wait and fin_wait1/2 better would be awesome.

  • dd-wrt router firmware QoS troubleshooting

    - by Jeff Atwood
I've been using the dd-wrt firmware on my router and I like it a lot! But -- I'm not sure the quality of service (QoS) is working on it. I have it set up as follows: http, port 80 -- Premium bittorrent, port 6969 -- Bulk https, port 443 -- Premium dns, port 53 -- Premium Per the QoS documentation, these levels are: bandwidth is allocated based on the following percentages of uplink and downlink values for each class: Exempt: 100mbps - ignores global limits. Premium: 75% - 100% Express: 15% - 100% Standard: 10% - 100% Bulk: 1.5% - 100% This doesn't entirely seem to work, though -- with busy torrents going I get major pauses in my web browsing which sucks! The QoS documentation gives some steps to check the QoS ... What you'll be interested to look at will be the first set of source and destination IP, including the port numbers. Next the presence of l7proto and the "mark" field. The entries indicate the current live connection QoS priority applied on them based on the "mark" field. The "mark" values correspond to the following Exempt: 100 Premium: 10 Express: 20 Standard: 30 Bulk: 40 (no QoS matched): 0 You may see "mark=0" for some l7proto service even though they are in configured in the list of QoS rules. This may mean that the layer 7 pattern matching system didn't match a new or changed header for that protocol. Custom service on port matches will usually take care of these. On port 6969 (bittorrent) I see a weird mixture of stuff with mark=0 and mark=40 like so cat /proc/net/ip_conntrack udp 17 105 src=98.162.182.42 dst=1.2.3.4 sport=64512 dport=6969 packets=3 bytes=290 src=10.0.0.2 dst=98.162.182.42 sport=6969 dport=64512 packets=4 bytes=202 [ASSURED] mark=0 secmark=0 use=1 tcp 6 117 TIME_WAIT src=98.248.173.174 dst=1.2.3.4 sport=51114 dport=6969 packets=12 bytes=704 src=10.0.0.2 dst=98.248.173.174 sport=6969 dport=51114 packets=10 bytes=440 [ASSURED] mark=40 secmark=0 use=1 tcp 6 598 ESTABLISHED src=165.132.128.201 dst=1.2.3.4 sport=57218 dport=6969 packets=8024 bytes=9919881 src=10.0.0.2 dst=165.132.128.201 sport=6969 dport=57218 packets=4211 bytes=239607 [ASSURED] mark=0 secmark=0 use=1 tcp 6 586 ESTABLISHED src=68.46.9.24 dst=1.2.3.4 sport=64688 dport=6969 packets=6 bytes=490 src=10.0.0.2 dst=68.46.9.24 sport=6969 dport=64688 packets=8 bytes=944 [ASSURED] mark=40 secmark=0 use=1 udp 17 45 src=222.254.228.38 dst=1.2.3.4 sport=25438 dport=6969 packets=5 bytes=454 src=10.0.0.2 dst=222.254.228.38 sport=6969 dport=25438 packets=3 bytes=154 [ASSURED] mark=0 secmark=0 use=1 ( full file visible at http://pastebin.com/AZE6EtWm ) I've been playing around with this log for a little while and I can't see any patterns! Why is some port 6969 bittorrent traffic tagged mark=0 (not matched) by dd-wrt's QoS while others are tagged mark=40 (Bulk) .. any ideas?

  • MySql service stops under 2008 r2 x64

    - by volody
I have installed MySql 5.5 server under windows 2008r2 x64 Apparently I can see that MySql service stops even if is configured to start automatically What can I do to find out why this is happening? MySql database is used as backend of ASP.Net web site Is it possible that web site was not active for a while and system stop mysql service? Update: It was mysql-5.5.7-rc-winx64. I could be an issue with this version (release candidate). Now I am trying to install mysql-5.5.8-winx64 And I have an issue with configuring MySql to work using name pipes I did uncheck use of TCP/IP protocol and configuration wizard just hangs Update: I have found workaround. It is required to configure MySql to use TCP/IP first, then reconfigure to use named pipes It looks like this link also has some information about the possible problems How should I diagnose ERROR 1045 during MySQL installation?

Update: I switched this back from answered as I tried the solution posed in cogent Nick's answer and switched to Google's urlfetch: logging.debug("starting urlfetch for http://%s%s" % (self.host, self.url)) result = urlfetch.fetch("http://%s%s" % (self.host, self.url), payload=self.body, method="POST", headers=self.headers, allow_truncated=True, deadline=5) logging.debug("finished urlfetch") but unfortunately finished urlfetch is never printed - I see the timeout happen in the logs (it returns 200 after 5 seconds), but execution doesn't seem tor return. Hi All- I'm attempting to play around with Twitter's Streaming (aka firehose) API with Google App Engine (I'm aware this probably isn't a great long term play as you can't keep the connection perpetually open with GAE), but so far I haven't had any luck getting my program to actually parse the results returned by Twitter. Some code: logging.debug("firing up urllib2") req = urllib2.Request(url="http://%s%s" % (self.host, self.url), data=self.body, headers=self.headers) logging.debug("called urlopen for %s %s, about to call urlopen" % (self.host, self.url)) fobj = urllib2.urlopen(req) logging.debug("called urlopen") When this executes, unfortunately, my debug output never shows the called urlopen line printed. I suspect what's happening is that Twitter keeps the connection open and urllib2 doesn't return because the server doesn't terminate the connection. Wireshark shows the request being sent properly and a response returned with results. I tried adding Connection: close to my request header, but that didn't yield a successful result. Any ideas on how to get this to work? thanks -Simon

  • How to generate a Program template by generating an abstract class

    - by Byron-Lim Timothy Steffan
i have the following problem. The 1st step is to implement a program, which follows a specific protocol on startup. Therefore, functions as onInit, onConfigRequest, etc. will be necessary. (These are triggered e.g. by incoming message on a TCP Port) My goal is to generate a class for example abstract one, which has abstract functions as onInit(), etc. A programmer should just inherit from this base class and should merely override these abstract functions of the base class. The rest as of the protocol e.g. should be simply handled in the background (using the code of the base class) and should not need to appear in the programmers code. What is the correct design strategy for such tasks? and how do I deal with, that the static main method is not inheritable? What are the key-tags for this problem? (I have problem searching for a solution since I lack clear statements on this problem) Goal is to create some sort of library/class, which - included in ones code - results in executables following the protocol. EDIT (new explanation): Okay let me try to explain more detailled: In this case programs should be clients within a client server architecture. We have a client server connection via TCP/IP. Each program needs to follow a specific protocol upon program start: As soon as my program starts and gets connected to the server it will receive an Init Message (TcpClient), when this happens it should trigger the function onInit(). (Should this be implemented by an event system?) After onInit() a acknowledgement message should be sent to the server. Afterwards there are some other steps as e.g. a config message from the server which triggers an onConfig and so on. Let's concentrate on the onInit function. The idea is, that onInit (and onConfig and so on) should be the only functions the programmer should edit while the overall protocol messaging is hidden for him. Therefore, I thought using an abstract class with the abstract methods onInit(), onConfig() in it should be the right thing. The static Main class I would like to hide, since within it e.g. there will be some part which connects to the tcp port, which reacts on the Init Message and which will call the onInit function. 2 problems here: 1. the static main class cant be inherited, isn it? 2. I cannot call abstract functions from the main class in the abstract master class. Let me give an Pseudo-example for my ideas: public abstract class MasterClass { static void Main(string[] args){ 1. open TCP connection 2. waiting for Init Message from server 3. onInit(); 4. Send Acknowledgement, that Init Routine has ended successfully 5. waiting for Config message from server 6..... } public abstract void onInit(); public abstract void onConfig(); } I hope you get the idea now! The programmer should afterwards inherit from this masterclass and merely need to edit the functions onInit and so on. Is this way possible? How? What else do you recommend for solving this? EDIT: The strategy ideo provided below is a good one! Check out my comment on that.

  • Postfix flow/hook reference, or high-level overview?

    - by threecheeseopera
The Postfix MTA consists of several components/services that work together to perform the different stages of delivery and receipt of mail; these include the smtp daemon, the pickup and cleanup processes, the queue manager, the smtp service, pipe/spawn/virtual/rewrite ... and others (including the possibility of custom components). Postfix also provides several types of hooks that allow it to integrate with external software, such as policy servers, filters, bounce handlers, loggers, and authentication mechanisms; these hooks can be connected to different components/stages of the delivery process, and can communicate via (at least) IPC, network, database, several types of flat files, or a predefined protocol (e.g. milter). An old and very limited example of this is shown at this page. My question: Does anyone have access to a resource that describes these hooks, the components/delivery stages that the hook can interact with, and the supported communication methods? Or, more likely, documentation of the various Postfix components and the hooks/methods that they support? For example: Given the requirement "if the recipient primary MX server matches 'shadysmtpd', check the recipient address against a list; if there is a match, terminate the SMTP connection without notice". My software would need to 1) integrate into the proper part of the SMTP process, 2) use some method to perform the address check (TCP map server? regular expressions? mysql?), and 3) implement the required action (connection termination). Additionally, there will probably be several methods to accomplish this, and another requirement would be to find that which best fits (ex: a network server might be faster than a flat-file lookup; or, if a large volume of mail might be affected by this check, it should be performed as early in the mail process as possible). Real-world example: The apolicy policy server (performs checks on addresses according to user-defined rules) is designed as a standalone TCP server that hooks into Postfix inside the smtpd component via the directive 'check_policy_service inet:127.0.0.1:10001' in the 'smtpd_client_restrictions' configuration option. This means that, when Postfix first receives an item of mail to be delivered, it will create a TCP connection to the policy server address:port for the purpose of determining if the client is allowed to send mail from this server (in addition to whatever other restrictions / restriction lookup methods are defined in that option); the proper action will be taken based on the server's response. Notes: 1)The Postfix architecture page describes some of this information in ascii art; what I am hoping for is distilled, condensed, reference material. 2) Please correct me if I am wrong on any level; there is a mountain of material, and I am just one man ;) Thanks!

Hello, i'm using ubuntu 10.10 i've a local backup user called "backup". :) i would like to give this user just a bandwidth of 1Mbit. No matter which software wants to connect to the network. this solution doesn't work: iptables -t mangle -A OUTPUT -p tcp -m owner --uid-owner 1001 -j MARK --set-mark 12 iptables -t mangle -A POSTROUTING -p tcp -m owner --uid-owner 1001 -j MARK --set-mark 12 tc qdisc del dev eth0 root tc qdisc add dev eth0 root handle 2 htb default 1 tc filter add dev eth0 parent 2: protocol ip pref 2 handle 50 fw classid 2:6 tc class add dev eth0 parent 2: classid 2:6 htb rate 10Kbit ceil 1Mbit tc qdisc show dev eth0 tc class show dev eth0 tc filter show dev eth0 does anyone know how to do it? thanks a lot in advance

  • Suspicious process running under user named

    - by Amit
    I get a lot of emails reporting this and I want this issue to auto correct itself. These process are run by my server and are a result of updates, session deletion and other legitimate session handling reported as false positives. Here's a sample report: Time: Sat Oct 20 00:00:03 2012 -0400 PID: 20077 Account: named Uptime: 326117 seconds Executable: /usr/sbin/nsd\00507d27e9\0053\00\00\00\00\00 (deleted) The file system shows this process is running an executable file that has been deleted. This typically happens when the original file has been replaced by a new file when the application is updated. To prevent this being reported again, restart the process that runs this excecutable file. See csf.conf and the PT_DELETED text for more information about the security implications of processes running deleted executable files. Command Line (often faked in exploits): /usr/sbin/nsd -c /etc/nsd/nsd.conf Network connections by the process (if any): udp: xx.xx.xxx.xx:53 -> 0.0.0.0:0 udp: 127.0.0.1:53 -> 0.0.0.0:0 udp: xx.xx.xxx.xx:53 -> 0.0.0.0:0 tcp: xx.xx.xxx.xx:53 -> 0.0.0.0:0 tcp: 127.0.0.1:53 -> 0.0.0.0:0 tcp: xx.xx.xxx.xx:53 -> 0.0.0.0:0 Files open by the process (if any): /dev/null /dev/null /dev/null Memory maps by the process (if any): 0045e000-00479000 r-xp 00000000 fd:00 2582025 /lib/ld-2.5.so 00479000-0047a000 r--p 0001a000 fd:00 2582025 /lib/ld-2.5.so 0047a000-0047b000 rw-p 0001b000 fd:00 2582025 /lib/ld-2.5.so 0047d000-005d5000 r-xp 00000000 fd:00 2582073 /lib/i686/nosegneg/libc-2.5.so 005d5000-005d7000 r--p 00157000 fd:00 2582073 /lib/i686/nosegneg/libc-2.5.so 005d7000-005d8000 rw-p 00159000 fd:00 2582073 /lib/i686/nosegneg/libc-2.5.so 005d8000-005db000 rw-p 005d8000 00:00 0 005dd000-005e0000 r-xp 00000000 fd:00 2582087 /lib/libdl-2.5.so 005e0000-005e1000 r--p 00002000 fd:00 2582087 /lib/libdl-2.5.so 005e1000-005e2000 rw-p 00003000 fd:00 2582087 /lib/libdl-2.5.so 0062b000-0063d000 r-xp 00000000 fd:00 2582079 /lib/libz.so.1.2.3 0063d000-0063e000 rw-p 00011000 fd:00 2582079 /lib/libz.so.1.2.3 00855000-0085f000 r-xp 00000000 fd:00 2582022 /lib/libnss_files-2.5.so 0085f000-00860000 r--p 00009000 fd:00 2582022 /lib/libnss_files-2.5.so 00860000-00861000 rw-p 0000a000 fd:00 2582022 /lib/libnss_files-2.5.so 00ac0000-00bea000 r-xp 00000000 fd:00 2582166 /lib/libcrypto.so.0.9.8e 00bea000-00bfe000 rw-p 00129000 fd:00 2582166 /lib/libcrypto.so.0.9.8e 00bfe000-00c01000 rw-p 00bfe000 00:00 0 00e68000-00e69000 r-xp 00e68000 00:00 0 [vdso] 08048000-08074000 r-xp 00000000 fd:00 927261 /usr/sbin/nsd 08074000-08079000 rw-p 0002b000 fd:00 927261 /usr/sbin/nsd 08079000-0808c000 rw-p 08079000 00:00 0 08a20000-08a67000 rw-p 08a20000 00:00 0 b7f8d000-b7ff2000 rw-p b7f8d000 00:00 0 b7ffd000-b7ffe000 rw-p b7ffd000 00:00 0 bfa6d000-bfa91000 rw-p bffda000 00:00 0 [stack] Would /etc/nsd/restart or kill -1 20077 solve the problem?

  • Does git clone work through NTLM proxies?

    - by AndreaG
I've tried both using export http_proxy=http://[username]:[pwd]@[proxy] and git config --global http.proxy http://[username]:[pwd]@[proxy]. I couldn't make it work. Somewhere it says that curl is (was?) used under the hood, but its options are (were?) hardwired into code. For example, curl --proxy-ntlm --proxy ...:8080 google.com works, and I'd like to use the same option with git. I need some more definite answers here: has anybody succeed using git through Windows proxies? Which version? Thanks.

  • Is My DataTable Snippet Written Correctly?

    - by user311509
public static DataTable GetDataTable(SqlCommand sqlCmd) { DataTable tblMyTable = new DataTable(); DataSet myDataSet = new DataSet(); try { //1. Create connection mSqlConnection = new SqlConnection(mStrConnection); //2. Open connection mSqlConnection.Open(); mSqlCommand = new SqlCommand(); mSqlCommand = sqlCmd; //3. Assign Connection mSqlCommand.Connection = mSqlConnection; //4. Create/Set DataAdapter mSqlDataAdapter = new SqlDataAdapter(); mSqlDataAdapter.SelectCommand = mSqlCommand; //5. Populate DataSet mSqlDataAdapter.Fill(myDataSet, "DataSet"); tblMyTable = myDataSet.Tables[0]; } catch (Exception ex) { } finally { //6. Clear objects if ((mSqlDataAdapter != null)) { mSqlDataAdapter.Dispose(); } if ((mSqlCommand != null)) { mSqlCommand.Dispose(); } if ((mSqlConnection != null)) { mSqlConnection.Close(); mSqlConnection.Dispose(); } } //7. Return DataSet return tblMyTable; } I use the above code to return records from database. The above snippet would run in web application which expected to have around 5000 visitors daily. The records returned reach 20,000 or over. The returned records are viewed (read-only) in paged GridView. Would it be better to use DataReader instead of DataTable? NOTE: two columns in the GridView are hyperlinked.
