  • Implementing a continuous "revert-buffer" aka Textpad

    - by vedang
    One of my colleagues uses TextPad, and one feature I found really useful is the Auto-Reload. (The feature has been described in this SO quesion: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1246083/alternative-to-textpads-prompt-to-reload-file). Basically, it keeps reloading the file without any prompt from the user, which is really helpful when monitoring log files that are updated in real-time. Is there something similar available for Emacs? If not, can anyone whip up the required elisp magic?

  • Binding Source suspends itself when I don't want it to.

    - by Scott Chamberlain
    I have two data tables set up in a Master-Details configuration with a relation "Ticket_CallSegments" between them. I also have two Binding Sources and a Data Grid View configured like this (Init Code) // // dgvTickets // this.dgvTickets.AllowUserToAddRows = false; this.dgvTickets.AllowUserToDeleteRows = false; this.dgvTickets.AllowUserToResizeRows = false; this.dgvTickets.AutoGenerateColumns = false; this.dgvTickets.ColumnHeadersHeightSizeMode = System.Windows.Forms.DataGridViewColumnHeadersHeightSizeMode.AutoSize; this.dgvTickets.Columns.AddRange(new System.Windows.Forms.DataGridViewColumn[] { this.cREATEDATEDataGridViewTextBoxColumn, this.contactFullNameDataGridViewTextBoxColumn, this.pARTIALNOTEDataGridViewTextBoxColumn}); this.dgvTickets.DataSource = this.ticketsDataSetBindingSource; this.dgvTickets.Dock = System.Windows.Forms.DockStyle.Fill; this.dgvTickets.Location = new System.Drawing.Point(0, 0); this.dgvTickets.MultiSelect = false; this.dgvTickets.Name = "dgvTickets"; this.dgvTickets.ReadOnly = true; this.dgvTickets.RowHeadersVisible = false; this.dgvTickets.SelectionMode = System.Windows.Forms.DataGridViewSelectionMode.FullRowSelect; this.dgvTickets.Size = new System.Drawing.Size(359, 600); this.dgvTickets.TabIndex = 0; // // ticketsDataSetBindingSource // this.ticketsDataSetBindingSource.DataMember = "Ticket"; this.ticketsDataSetBindingSource.DataSource = this.ticketsDataSet; this.ticketsDataSetBindingSource.CurrentChanged += new System.EventHandler(this.ticketsDataSetBindingSource_CurrentChanged); // // callSegementBindingSource // this.callSegementBindingSource.DataMember = "Ticket_CallSegments"; this.callSegementBindingSource.DataSource = this.ticketsDataSetBindingSource; this.callSegementBindingSource.Sort = "CreateDate"; //Function to update a rich text box. private void ticketsDataSetBindingSource_CurrentChanged(object sender, EventArgs e) { StringBuilder sb = new StringBuilder(); rtbTickets.Clear(); foreach (DataRowView drv in callSegementBindingSource) { TicketsDataSet.CallSegmentsRow row = (TicketsDataSet.CallSegmentsRow)drv.Row; sb.AppendLine("**********************************"); sb.AppendLine(String.Format("CreateDate: {1}, Created by: {0}", row.USERNAME, row.CREATEDATE)); sb.AppendLine("**********************************"); rtbTickets.SelectionFont = new Font("Arial", (float)11, FontStyle.Bold); rtbTickets.SelectedText = sb.ToString(); rtbTickets.SelectionFont = new Font("Arial", (float)11, FontStyle.Regular); rtbTickets.SelectedText = row.NOTES + "\n\n"; } } However when ticketsDataSetBindingSource_CurrentChanged gets called when I select a new row in my Data Grid View callSegementBindingSource.IsBindingSuspended is set to true and my text box does not update correctly (it seems to always pull from the same row in CallSegments). Can anyone see what I am doing wrong or tell me how to unsuspend the binding so it will pull the correct data?

  • C#: Windows Forms: What could cause Invalidate() to not redraw?

    - by Rosarch
    I'm using Windows Forms. For a long time, pictureBox.Invalidate(); worked to make the screen be redrawn. However, it now doesn't work and I'm not sure why. this.worldBox = new System.Windows.Forms.PictureBox(); this.worldBox.BackColor = System.Drawing.SystemColors.Control; this.worldBox.BorderStyle = System.Windows.Forms.BorderStyle.FixedSingle; this.worldBox.Location = new System.Drawing.Point(170, 82); this.worldBox.Name = "worldBox"; this.worldBox.Size = new System.Drawing.Size(261, 250); this.worldBox.TabIndex = 0; this.worldBox.TabStop = false; this.worldBox.MouseMove += new System.Windows.Forms.MouseEventHandler(this.worldBox_MouseMove); this.worldBox.MouseDown += new System.Windows.Forms.MouseEventHandler(this.worldBox_MouseDown); this.worldBox.MouseUp += new System.Windows.Forms.MouseEventHandler(this.worldBox_MouseUp); Called in my code to draw the world appropriately: view.DrawWorldBox(worldBox, canvas, gameEngine.GameObjectManager.Controllers, selectedGameObjects, LevelEditorUtils.PREVIEWS); View.DrawWorldBox: public void DrawWorldBox(PictureBox worldBox, Panel canvas, ICollection<IGameObjectController> controllers, ICollection<IGameObjectController> selectedGameObjects, IDictionary<string, Image> previews) { int left = Math.Abs(worldBox.Location.X); int top = Math.Abs(worldBox.Location.Y); Rectangle screenRect = new Rectangle(left, top, canvas.Width, canvas.Height); IDictionary<float, ICollection<IGameObjectController>> layers = LevelEditorUtils.LayersOfControllers(controllers); IOrderedEnumerable<KeyValuePair<float, ICollection<IGameObjectController>>> sortedLayers = from item in layers orderby item.Key descending select item; using (Graphics g = Graphics.FromImage(worldBox.Image)) { foreach (KeyValuePair<float, ICollection<IGameObjectController>> kv in sortedLayers) { foreach (IGameObjectController controller in kv.Value) { // ... float scale = controller.View.Scale; float width = controller.View.Width; float height = controller.View.Height; Rectangle controllerRect = new Rectangle((int)controller.Model.Position.X, (int)controller.Model.Position.Y, (int)(width * scale), (int)(height * scale)); // cull objects that aren't intersecting with the canvas if (controllerRect.IntersectsWith(screenRect)) { Image img = previews[controller.Model.HumanReadableName]; g.DrawImage(img, controllerRect); } if (selectedGameObjects.Contains(controller)) { selectionRectangles.Add(controllerRect); } } } foreach (Rectangle rect in selectionRectangles) { g.DrawRectangle(drawingPen, rect); } selectionRectangles.Clear(); } worldBox.Invalidate(); } What could I be doing wrong here?

  • Find items is SSRS by Id

    - by chief7
    How do you find items in SSRS by ID? I tried to use the id returned by another find result, a new guid to string and small random string all of which return the same error: The ID field has a value that is not valid. --- Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.InvalidElementException: The ID field has a value that is not valid. Here is the code: var request = new FindItemsRequest { Conditions = new[] { new SearchCondition { Name = "ID", Value = "test"} }, Folder = "/" }; return _ssrsService .FindItems(request) .Items I'm using SSRS 2005.

  • Why doesn't VB.NET 9 have Automatic Properties like C# 3??

    - by Chris Pietschmann
    Would having a nice little feature that makes it quicker to write code like Automatic Properties fit very nicely with the mantra of VB.NET? Something like this would work perfect: Public Property FirstName() As String Get Set End Property UPDATE: VB.NET 10 (coming with Visual Studio 2010 and .NET 4.0) will have Automatic Properties. Here's a link that shows a little info about the feature: http://geekswithblogs.net/DarrenFieldhouse/archive/2008/12/01/new-features-in-vb.net-10-.net-4.0.aspx In VB.NET 10 Automatic Properties will be defines like this: Public Property CustomerID As Integer

  • Routed Command Question

    - by Andrew
    I'd like to implement a custom command to capture a Backspace key gesture inside of a textbox, but I don't know how. I wrote a test program in order to understand what's going on, but the behaviour of the program is rather confusing. Basically, I just need to be able to handle the Backspace key gesture via wpf commands while keyboard focus is in the textbox, and without disrupting the normal behaviour of the Backspace key within the textbox. Here's the xaml for the main window and the corresponding code-behind, too (note that I created a second command for the Enter key, just to compare its behaviour to that of the Backspace key): <Window x:Class="WpfApplication1.Window1" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" Title="Window1" Height="300" Width="300"> <Grid> <TextBox Margin="44,54,44,128" Name="textBox1" /> </Grid> </Window> And here's the corresponding code-behind: using System.Windows; using System.Windows.Input; namespace WpfApplication1 { /// <summary> /// Interaction logic for EntryListView.xaml /// </summary> public partial class Window1 : Window { public static RoutedCommand EnterCommand = new RoutedCommand(); public static RoutedCommand BackspaceCommand = new RoutedCommand(); public Window1() { InitializeComponent(); CommandBinding cb1 = new CommandBinding(EnterCommand, EnterExecuted, EnterCanExecute); CommandBinding cb2 = new CommandBinding(BackspaceCommand, BackspaceExecuted, BackspaceCanExecute); this.CommandBindings.Add(cb1); this.CommandBindings.Add(cb2); KeyGesture kg1 = new KeyGesture(Key.Enter); KeyGesture kg2 = new KeyGesture(Key.Back); InputBinding ib1 = new InputBinding(EnterCommand, kg1); InputBinding ib2 = new InputBinding(BackspaceCommand, kg2); this.InputBindings.Add(ib1); this.InputBindings.Add(ib2); } #region Command Handlers private void EnterCanExecute(object sender, CanExecuteRoutedEventArgs e) { MessageBox.Show("Inside EnterCanExecute Method."); e.CanExecute = true; } private void EnterExecuted(object sender, ExecutedRoutedEventArgs e) { MessageBox.Show("Inside EnterExecuted Method."); e.Handled = true; } private void BackspaceCanExecute(object sender, CanExecuteRoutedEventArgs e) { MessageBox.Show("Inside BackspaceCanExecute Method."); e.Handled = true; } private void BackspaceExecuted(object sender, ExecutedRoutedEventArgs e) { MessageBox.Show("Inside BackspaceExecuted Method."); e.Handled = true; } #endregion Command Handlers } } Any help would be very much appreciated. • Are jQuery's :first and :eq(0) selectors functionally equivalent?

    - by travis
    I'm not sure whether to use :first or :eq(0) in a selector. I'm pretty sure that they'll always return the same object, but is one speedier than the other? I'm sure someone here must have benchmarked these selectors before and I'm not really sure the best way to test if one is faster. Update: here's the bench I ran: /* start bench */ for (var count = 0; count < 5; count++) { var i = 0, limit = 10000; var start, end; start = new Date(); for (i = 0; i < limit; i++) { var $radeditor = $thisFrame.parents("div.RadEditor.Telerik:eq(0)"); } end = new Date(); alert("div.RadEditor.Telerik:eq(0) : " + (end-start)); var start = new Date(); for (i = 0; i < limit; i++) { var $radeditor = $thisFrame.parents("div.RadEditor.Telerik:first"); } end = new Date(); alert("div.RadEditor.Telerik:first : " + (end-start)); start = new Date(); for (i = 0; i < limit; i++) { var radeditor = $thisFrame.parents("div.RadEditor.Telerik")[0]; } end = new Date(); alert("(div.RadEditor.Telerik)[0] : " + (end-start)); start = new Date(); for (i = 0; i < limit; i++) { var $radeditor = $($thisFrame.parents("div.RadEditor.Telerik")[0]); } end = new Date(); alert("$((div.RadEditor.Telerik)[0]) : " + (end-start)); } /* end bench */ I assumed that the 3rd would be the fastest and the 4th would be the slowest, but here's the results that I came up with: FF3: :eq(0) :first [0] $([0]) trial1 5275 4360 4107 3910 trial2 5175 5231 3916 4134 trial3 5317 5589 4670 4350 trial4 5754 4829 3988 4610 trial5 4771 6019 4669 4803 Average 5258.4 5205.6 4270 4361.4 IE6: :eq(0) :first [0] $([0]) trial1 13796 15733 12202 14014 trial2 14186 13905 12749 11546 trial3 12249 14281 13421 12109 trial4 14984 15015 11718 13421 trial5 16015 13187 11578 10984 Average 14246 14424.2 12333.6 12414.8 I was correct about just returning the first native DOM object being the fastest ([0]), but I can't believe the wrapping that object in the jQuery function was faster that both :first and :eq(0)! Unless I'm doing it wrong.

  • how to read values from the remote OPC Server

    - by Shailesh Jaiswal
    I have created one asp.net web service. In this web service I am using the web method as follows. The web service is related to the OPC ( OLE for process control) public string ReadServerItems(string ServerName) { string txt = ""; ArrayList obj = new ArrayList(); XmlServer Srv = new XmlServer("XDAGW.CS.WCF.Eval.1"); RequestOptions opt = new RequestOptions(); ReadRequestItemList iList = new ReadRequestItemList(); iList.Items = new ReadRequestItem[3]; iList.Items[0] = new ReadRequestItem(); iList.Items[0].ItemName = "ServerInfo.ConnectedClients"; iList.Items[1] = new ReadRequestItem(); iList.Items[1].ItemName = "ServerInfo.TotalGroups"; iList.Items[2] = new ReadRequestItem(); iList.Items[2].ItemName = "EventSources.Area1.Tracking"; ReplyItemList rslt; OPCError[] err; ReplyBase reply = Srv.Read(opt, iList, out rslt, out err); if ((rslt == null)) txt += err[0].Text; else { foreach (xmldanet.xmlda.ItemValue iv in rslt.Items) { txt += iv.ItemName; if (iv.ResultID == null) // success { txt += " = " + iv.Value.ToString() + "\r\n"; obj.Add(txt); } else txt += " : Error: " + iv.ResultID.Name + "\r\n"; } } return txt; } I am using the namespaces as follows using xmldanet; using xmldanet.xmlda; I have installed XMLDA.NET client component evaluation. In this there is an in built Test client which successfully reads the values of these data items from the remote OPC server. I also provides the template through which we can build the OPC based applications. In the above code I am trying to read the values of the data items but i am not able to read the values. I have applied the breakpoint. In that I can see that the condition if (iv.ResultID == null) becomes false & also there is null values in the variable rslt. Please tell me where I am doing mistake ? how should I correct my mistake ? can provide me the correct code ?

  • How can I show a "selection highlighting"-rectangle around a column of a Silverlight Grid?

    - by carlmon
    I have a feature matrix implemented with Silverlight's Grid where users need to select a product. How can I indicate selection with a rectangle around the whole selected column? It is easy to put a CheckBox at the bottom of each product's column, but that is too dull. I would have preffered to use SL Toolkit's DataGrid (with built-in row selection), but it cannot be orientated vertically for a feature matrix... Thanks, Carl

  • What is happening to NCurses and OS X 10.6?

    - by John Velman
    Apparently libncurses...dylib is broken OS X 10.6.3 relative to Mutt, and perhaps other applications, that use ncurses, although it works in 10.6 (as I can attest) and reportedly it works in 10.6.2. Does anyone know if this is a bug or a feature in the view of Apple? If a feature, is there a workaround for people who want to upgrade 10.6..., but also want to use, for example, Mutt? Thanks

  • Saxon XSLT-Transformation: How to change serialization of an empty tag from <x/> to <x></x>?

    - by Ben
    Hello folks! I do some XSLT-Transformation using Saxon HE 9.2 with the output later being unmarshalled by Castor 1.3.1. The whole thing runs with Java at the JDK 6. My XSLT-Transformation looks like this: <xsl:transform version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" xmlns:ns="http://my/own/custom/namespace/for/the/target/document"> <xsl:output method="xml" encoding="UTF-8" indent="no" /> <xsl:template match="/"> <ns:item> <ns:property name="id"> <xsl:value-of select="/some/complicated/xpath" /> </ns:property> <!-- ... more ... --> </xsl:template> So the thing is: if the XPath-expression /some/complicated/xpath evaluates to an empty sequence, the Saxon serializer writes <ns:property/> instead of <ns:property></ns:property>. This, however, confuses the Castor unmarshaller, which is next in the pipeline and which unmarshals the output of the transformation to instances of XSD-generated Java-code. So my question is: How can I tell the Saxon-serializer to output empty tags not as standalone tags? Here is what I am proximately currently doing to execute the transformation: import net.sf.saxon.s9api.*; import javax.xml.transform.*; import javax.xml.transform.sax.SAXSource; // ... // read data XMLReader xmlReader = XMLReaderFactory.createXMLReader(); // ... there is some more setting up the xmlReader here ... InputStream xsltStream = new FileInputStream(xsltFile); InputStream inputStream = new FileInputStream(inputFile); Source xsltSource = new SAXSource(xmlReader, new InputSource(xsltStream)); Source inputSource = new SAXSource(xmlReader, new InputSource(inputStream)); XdmNode input = processor.newDocumentBuilder().build(inputSource); // initialize transformation configuration Processor processor = new Processor(false); XsltCompiler compiler = processor.newXsltCompiler(); compiler.setErrorListener(this); XsltExecutable executable = compiler.compile(xsltSource); Serializer serializer = new Serializer(); serializer.setOutputProperty(Serializer.Property.METHOD, "xml"); serializer.setOutputProperty(Serializer.Property.INDENT, "no"); serializer.setOutputStream(output); // execute transformation XsltTransformer transformer = executable.load(); transformer.setInitialContextNode(input); transformer.setErrorListener(this); transformer.setDestination(serializer); transformer.setSchemaValidationMode(ValidationMode.STRIP); transformer.transform(); I'd appreciate any hint pointing in the direction of a solution. :-) In case of any unclarity I'd be happy to give more details. Nightly greetings from Germany, Benjamin

  • design for a wrapper around command-line utilities

    - by hatchetman82
    im trying to come up with a design for a wrapper for use when invoking command line utilities in java. the trouble with runtime.exec() is that you need to keep reading from the process' out and err streams or it hangs when it fills its buffers. this has led me to the following design: public class CommandLineInterface { private final Thread stdOutThread; private final Thread stdErrThread; private final OutputStreamWriter stdin; private final History history; public CommandLineInterface(String command) throws IOException { this.history = new History(); this.history.addEntry(new HistoryEntry(EntryTypeEnum.INPUT, command)); Process process = Runtime.getRuntime().exec(command); stdin = new OutputStreamWriter(process.getOutputStream()); stdOutThread = new Thread(new Leech(process.getInputStream(), history, EntryTypeEnum.OUTPUT)); stdOutThread.setDaemon(true); stdOutThread.start(); stdErrThread = new Thread(new Leech(process.getErrorStream(), history, EntryTypeEnum.ERROR)); stdErrThread.setDaemon(true); stdErrThread.start(); } public void write(String input) throws IOException { this.history.addEntry(new HistoryEntry(EntryTypeEnum.INPUT, input)); stdin.write(input); stdin.write("\n"); stdin.flush(); } } public class Leech implements Runnable{ private final InputStream stream; private final History history; private final EntryTypeEnum type; private volatile boolean alive = true; public Leech(InputStream stream, History history, EntryTypeEnum type) { this.stream = stream; this.history = history; this.type = type; } public void run() { BufferedReader reader = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(stream)); String line; try { while(alive) { line = reader.readLine(); if (line==null) break; history.addEntry(new HistoryEntry(type, line)); } } catch (Exception e) { e.printStackTrace(); } } } my issue is with the Leech class (used to "leech" the process' out and err streams and feed them into history - which acts like a log file) - on the one hand reading whole lines is nice and easy (and what im currently doing), but it means i miss the last line (usually the prompt line). i only see the prompt line when executing the next command (because there's no line break until that point). on the other hand, if i read characters myself, how can i tell when the process is "done" ? (either complete or waiting for input) has anyone tried something like waiting 100 millis since the last output from the process and declaring it "done" ? any better ideas on how i can implement a nice wrapper around things like runtime.exec("cmd.exe") ?

  • Saving a reference to a int.

    - by Scott Chamberlain
    Here is a much simplified version of what I am trying to do static void Main(string[] args) { int test = 0; int test2 = 0; Test A = new Test(ref test); Test B = new Test(ref test); Test C = new Test(ref test2); A.write(); //Writes 1 should write 1 B.write(); //Writes 1 should write 2 C.write(); //Writes 1 should write 1 Console.ReadLine(); } class Test { int _a; public Test(ref int a) { _a = a; //I loose the reference here } public void write() { var b = System.Threading.Interlocked.Increment(ref _a); Console.WriteLine(b); } } In my real code I have a int that will be incremented by many threads however where the threads a called it will not be easy to pass it the parameter that points it at the int(In the real code this is happening inside a IEnumerator). So a requirement is the reference must be made in the constructor. Also not all threads will be pointing at the same single base int so I can not use a global static int either. I know I can just box the int inside a class and pass the class around but I wanted to know if that is the correct way of doing something like this? What I think could be the correct way: static void Main(string[] args) { Holder holder = new Holder(0); Holder holder2 = new Holder(0); Test A = new Test(holder); Test B = new Test(holder); Test C = new Test(holder2); A.write(); //Writes 1 should write 1 B.write(); //Writes 2 should write 2 C.write(); //Writes 1 should write 1 Console.ReadLine(); } class Holder { public Holder(int i) { num = i; } public int num; } class Test { Holder _holder; public Test(Holder holder) { _holder = holder; } public void write() { var b = System.Threading.Interlocked.Increment(ref _holder.num); Console.WriteLine(b); } } Is there a better way than this?

  • How do I catch the error from my printer with PrintDocument?

    - by Scottie
    I am using the PrintDocument class to print to my Brother label printer. When I execute the Print() method, the printer starts flashing a red error light, but everything else returns successful. I can run this same code on my laser printer and everything works fine. How can I see what is causing the error on my label printer? • Java design flaws that are unlikely to change due to backward compatibility

    - by koppernickus
    What are the Java language and standard library design flaws you are aware of? I ask only for flaws that: cannot be changed or are unlikely to change due to backward compatibility, are NOT controversial, i.e. most of programmers would agree that "this is a bug not a feature" (for example checked exceptions seem to be controversial language feature, so I wouldn't classify them as "design flaw").

    - by Leandro Ardissone
    Hi, I'm trying to launch a website url in a new tab using python in that way, but it didn't worked in these both ways: Method 1: os.system('C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\Firefox.exe -new-tab http://www.google.com/'); and Method 2: os.startfile('C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\Firefox.exe -new-tab http://www.google.com/'); If I don't add the parameters (-new-tab http://www.google.com/) it works, opening the default page.

  • USB Flash not recognised by Windows and BIOS, but works fine in Linux

    - by bbalegere
    I have a Transcend JetFLash 2GB USB Drive.It was working fine and I had been using it occasionally. All of sudden it stopped working in all versions of Windows . The USB Drive is also not recognised by the BIOS.It does not show in the list of bootable devices.(It used show up in the list earlier) However the USB Drive works fine in my Linux Mint 11 OS. Running dmesg gives this [ 941.812192] usb 1-2: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 4 [ 941.936178] usb 1-2: device descriptor read/64, error -71 [ 942.164188] usb 1-2: device descriptor read/64, error -71 [ 942.380189] usb 1-2: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 5 [ 942.504138] usb 1-2: device descriptor read/64, error -71 [ 942.732179] usb 1-2: device descriptor read/64, error -71 [ 942.948154] usb 1-2: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 6 [ 943.364134] usb 1-2: device not accepting address 6, error -71 [ 943.476172] usb 1-2: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 7 [ 943.892140] usb 1-2: device not accepting address 7, error -71 [ 943.892191] hub 1-0:1.0: unable to enumerate USB device on port 2 [ 944.296190] usb 2-2: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 3 [ 944.438251] usb 2-2: not running at top speed; connect to a high speed hub [ 944.709928] usbcore: registered new interface driver uas [ 944.729999] Initializing USB Mass Storage driver... • how to use a tree data structure in C#

    - by matti
    I found an implementation for a tree at this SO question. Unfortunately I don't know how to use it. Also I made a change to it since LinkedList does not have Add method: delegate void TreeVisitor<T>(T nodeData); class NTree<T> { T data; List<NTree<T>> children; public NTree(T data) { this.data = data; children = new List<NTree<T>>(); } public void AddChild(T data) { children.Add(new NTree<T>(data)); } public NTree<T> GetChild(int i) { return children[i]; } public void Traverse(NTree<T> node, TreeVisitor<T> visitor) { visitor(node.data); foreach (NTree<T> kid in node.children) Traverse(kid, visitor); } } I have class named tTable and I want to store it's children and their grandchildren (...) in this tree. My need is to find immediate children and not traverse entire tree. I also might need to find children with some criteria. Let's say tTable has only name and I want to find children with names matching some criteria. tTables constructor gives name a value according to int-value (somehow). How do I use Traverse (write delegate) if I have code like this; int i = 0; Dictionary<string, NTree<tTable>> tableTreeByRootTableName = new Dictionary<string, NTree<tTable>>(); tTable aTable = new tTable(i++); tableTreeByRootTableName[aTable.Name] = new NTree(aTable); tableTreeByRootTableName[aTable.Name].AddChild(new tTable(i++)); tableTreeByRootTableName[aTable.Name].AddChild(new tTable(i++)); tableTreeByRootTableName[aTable.Name].GetChild(1).AddChild(new tTable(i++));

  • NullPointerException, Collections not storing data?

    - by Elliott
    Hi there, I posted this question earlier but not with the code in its entirety. The coe below also calls to other classes Background and Hydro which I have included at the bottom. I have a Nullpointerexception at the line indicate by asterisks. Which would suggest to me that the Collections are not storing data properly. Although when I check their size they seem correct. Thanks in advance. PS: If anyone would like to give me advice on how best to format my code to make it readable, it would be appreciated.
