Hi All,
Is there a way in any browser to add/remove class names? For example, if I have a div with class names and I just want to remove/add 'name2' is there a way to do that?
Thanks,
rodchar
We used to be able to use javascript in IE to produce a chromeless window...no buttons, scrollbars or even the standard edges of the browser window.
My question: Is there any way to accomplish this type of window look from the web with today's browsers?

Hello All-
I'm having trouble with a URL string in my Web Application. It's using a UNC path similar to \\houtestmachine\common\File1.pdf My problem is when it encounters files that have a # character. I tried doing a string newstring = originalstring.Replace("#", "%23"); but the # is still there in URL (target of a hyperlink) at runtime in the browser. How can I fix this?

How can I use javascript to send a one way message to php? I would like to get the browser information from javascript and just send it to php in the background. I know I can get some of this from php, but I'd rather use javascript. Is there a way to do this without a framework like jquery?
JSF is setting the ID of an input field to search_form:expression. I need to specify some styling on that element, but that colon looks like the beginning of a pseudo-element to the browser so it gets marked invalid and ignored. Is there anyway to escape the colon or something?
input#search_form:expression {
///...
}
Does anyone know of an http client that is scripting friendly (ie: the basics, gets, posts) and is capable of executing javascript (all, not just location redirect) ? And one which isn't just launching another browser.
You can do this:
.info
{
padding: 5px ;
}
Or, if you know it will be a div, you can do this
div.info
{
padding: 5px ;
}
So, when there's a nested list.. you can do this..
div.info ul.navbar li.navitem a.sitelink
{
color: #f00;
}
Or you can do this
a.sitelink
{
color: #f00;
}
Readability aside, which is better for the browser to parse/run?
Now I've set up the flash application to work in to stage:
the uploading stage: uploading the stream from pc A's camera to FMS
play stage: watch the real time stream from PC B's browser
I want to make stage 2 work on mobile phones too.
But currently it's using flash(actionscript) to connect and play the stream, which is not supported out of the box.
How to port this kind of application to mobile phones?
can someone rephrase this below sentence so that the user can easily understand the below line
" Please turn off the pop up blocker by going to tools option pop up blocker turn off pop up blocker in the browser and try again"
I am writing a python script that downloads a file given by a URL. Unfortuneatly the URL is in the form of a PHP script i.e. www.website.com/generatefilename.php?file=5233
If you visit the link in a browser, you are prompted to download the actual file and extension. I need to send this link to the downloader, but I can't send the downloader the PHP link.
How would I get the full file name in a usable variable?
Hi
Complete novice question. I've used jQuery a bit, YUI not at all and know very little about it.
I work on a website thats IE specific, we're now looking at making it cross browser. jQuery seems great at hiding the differences between browsers from a javascript point of view. However in terms of css layout is it YUI that I should really be looking at?
thanks
hi

Hi All,
I want to know if I can find/reach UI components of running application under Android OS.
it is possible to catch the Button/DDL/.. that was clicked by the user in real-time,
example from other subject(web):
In browser I can listen to the events and catch the DOM object that was clicked,
in this way I can save the DOM object data.
catching UI components that was changed by the user will give the option to save UI componentdata, and to perform the user actions automatic.
Thanks.
I have been exploring the possibilities of Microsoft Silverlight and how it runs in web browsers. I just wonder if Silverlight requires the .NET framework? Meaning that Mac or Linux users cannot run Silverlight. I will be making the application using the .NET framework 3.5. Will this application run in any web browser, or just major ones like Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari?
I'm looking for a solution to profile my php scripts within the browser (rather than having to use *cachegrind)
I saw this a while ago http://particletree.com/features/php-quick-profiler/, but i have no idea how good it is (or accurate)
tips/advice appreciated
Hi All,
I am wondering is there any way we can test the font size/color of a webpage in IE6+. I think it is not possible by checking the css class, as some other style may overwrite the styles of the class which has been assinged to that text.
Actually I want to know the browser assigned font-size to the text of the page, as we can do it in firebug on firefox.
Any help would be appreciated.
while editing the template of my blog i saw that header size is set to 660px by the css property
width:660px
.Now i want to make my header spread across the whole lenth of the browser and also i don't want to specify some specific length in pixels ,so that the blog don't look odd in widescreen vs normal monitors .how do i do that ?
I went to test my page on another browser. On google chrome i can fill out a form, hit back and forward and still have the data there. Now i need to refresh the page so certain data is correct (such as session id if the cookie expires or user logs out before submitting). I refresh and lose all data. Is there some option i can set so all data is kept?
I am saving personal information in PHP page.when user click submit it saves but user can go back in submit information page through browser back button.Hoe can I expire my previous page??
Is it possible to rewrite the URL in the URL-field on the client's browser?
So when a person clicks on a link on my page something ajax happens (eg a tab shows up) i want the url to display the action without refreshing the page.
Is this possible?
This is my first time building a responsive site, and as I tailor the CSS for the iPhone I'm running into a problem. The styles all apply correctly, the text changes size and the wrapper changes widths. The problem is the iPhone browser still opens up at a huge width, see the screenshot:
I'm using
@media all and (max-device-width: 480px) {}
to set the specific iPhone css. body {width:;} doesn't work.
Thanks for the help :)
hi,
what's the best way to customize html-css tooltips ? (I mean an easy cross-browser solution).
I need to reduce the fade-in delay and change the style. (also, could you suggest a good jQuery plug-in for it ?
thanks
In IE the tooltip (title attribute) when you hold over an a-tag disappear after a while. Can I somehow control for long it is shown? Or is it up to the browser to decide?
<a title="tooltip text">link</a>
