  • LINQ and paging with a DataTable - can't get Skip working?

    - by Kit Menke
    Ok so this might be a dumb question, but I can't seem to figure it out. I thought I'd try out LINQ against a DataTable. I got my query working and now I'm trying to implement some simple paging. DataTable dataTable = null; dataTable = GetAllDataTables(); var query = from r in dataTable.AsEnumerable() orderby r.Field<string>(Constants.fileName) select r; query.Skip(WPP_PAGE_SIZE * pageIndex).Take(WPP_PAGE_SIZE); My problem is that I get an error at query.Skip(...). Error 1 'System.Data.OrderedEnumerableRowCollection' does not contain a definition for 'Skip' and no extension method 'Skip' accepting a first argument of type 'System.Data.OrderedEnumerableRowCollection' could be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) References I have: Microsoft.SharePoint System System.Core System.Data System.Data.DataSetExtensions System.Web System.Xml What am I missing?

  • Most efficient way to update a MySQL Database on a Linux host with that of an ASP.Net Form on Window

    - by NJTechGuy
    My kind webhost (1and1) royally asked me to go elsewhere to do something like this. I have 2 sites. One of them was developed by a .Net programmer. Now I am contracted to implement a PHP site and fetch data from the .Net site. There is an ASP.Net form that a customer fills and when they hit submit, the data gets stored in SQL Server DB. How do I also store the same data in MySQL parallelly? I cannot directly use some database connectors with ASP.Net since MySQL connectivity is not supported on 1and1 Windows hosting (biz account, no less!). What I thought of is to publish an RSS feed of entries in ASP.Net site and routinely scrape that data into MySQL on Linux host. It is an overkill, I know. Not efficient. I thought I would pick the best brains on SOF to get a different, efficient opinion. Thanks in advance guys...

  • paypal custom confirmation page

    - by krike
    I have a deposit page where people can deposit money on their accounts, but I would like to extend this with other payment methods and also I don't want to have certain information in the form visible to people (those who now how to manipulate form data using firebug). So I want to submit the form to a confirmation page where the data is processed and where new data is added like the paypal e-mail and the IPN link that needs to be send to, and only then redirected to paypal. is there php code I can use to submit the form immediatly once the data is processed? or should this be done in the meta tag or something like that?

  • Google Chart Number formatting

    I need to format my pie and column charts to show the $ and comma in currency format ($###,###) when you hover over the charts. • .NET SerialPort.Read skipps bytes

    - by Lukas Rieger
    Solution Reading the data byte wise via "port.ReadByte" is too slow, the problem is inside the SerialPort class. i changed it to reading bigger chunks via "port.Read" and there are now no buffer overruns. although i found the solution myself, writing it down helped me and maybe someone else has the same problem and finds this via google... (how can i mark it as answered?) EDIT 2 by setting port.ReadBufferSize = 2000000; i can delay the problem for ~30 seconds. so it seems, .Net really is too slow... since my application is not that critical, i just set the buffer to 20MB, but i am still interested in the cause. EDIT i just tested something i had not thought of before (shame on me): port.ErrorReceived += (object self, SerialErrorReceivedEventArgs se_arg) => { Console.Write("| Error: {0} | ", System.Enum.GetName(se_arg.EventType.GetType(), se_arg.EventType)); }; and it seems that i have an overrun. Is the .Net implementation too slow for 500k or is there an error on my side? Original Question i built a very primitive oszilloscope (avr, which sends adc data over uart to an ftdi chip). On the pc side i have a WPF Programm that displays this data. The Protokoll is: two sync bytes (0xaffe) - 14 data bytes - two sync bytes - 14 data bytes - ... i use 16bit values, so inside the 14 data bytes are 7 channels (lsb first). I verified the uC Firmware with hTerm, and it does send and receive everything correct. But, if i try to read the data with C#, sometimes some bytes are lost. The oszilloscop programm is a mess, but i created a small sample application, which has the same symptoms. I added two extension methods to a) read one byte from the COM Port and ignore -1 (EOF) and b) wait for the sync pattern. The sample programm first syncs onto the data stream by waiting for (0xaffe) and then compares the received bytes with the expected values. the loop runs a few times until an assert failed message pops up. I could not find anything about lost bytes via google, any help would be appreciated. Code using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Diagnostics; using System.IO.Ports; using System.Linq; using System.Text; using System.Threading.Tasks; namespace SerialTest { public static class SerialPortExtensions { public static byte ReadByteSerial(this SerialPort port) { int i = 0; do { i = port.ReadByte(); } while (i < 0 || i > 0xff); return (byte)i; } public static void WaitForPattern_Ushort(this SerialPort port, ushort pattern) { byte hi = 0; byte lo = 0; do { lo = hi; hi = port.ReadByteSerial(); } while (!(hi == (pattern >> 8) && lo == (pattern & 0x00ff))); } } class Program { static void Main(string[] args) { //500000 8n1 SerialPort port = new SerialPort("COM3", 500000, Parity.None, 8, StopBits.One); port.Open(); port.DiscardInBuffer(); port.DiscardOutBuffer(); //Sync port.WaitForPattern_Ushort(0xaffe); byte hi = 0; byte lo = 0; int val; int n = 0; // Start Loop, the stream is already synced while (true) { //Read 7 16-bit values (=14 Bytes) for (int i = 0; i < 7; i++) { lo = port.ReadByteSerial(); hi = port.ReadByteSerial(); val = ((hi << 8) | lo); Debug.Assert(val != 0xaffe); } //Read two sync bytes lo = port.ReadByteSerial(); hi = port.ReadByteSerial(); val = ((hi << 8) | lo); Debug.Assert(val == 0xaffe); n++; } } } }

  • Commercial web application--scalable database design

    - by Rob Campbell
    I'm designing a set of web apps to track scientific laboratory data. Each laboratory has several members, each of whom will access both their own data and that of their laboratory as a whole. Many typical queries will thus be expected to return records of multiple members (e.g. my mouse, joe's mouse and sally's mouse). I think I have the database fairly well normalized. I'm now wondering how to ensure that users can efficiently access both their own data and their lab's data set when it is mixed among (hopefully) a whole ton of records from other labs. What I've come up with so far is that most tables will end with two fields: user_id and labgroup_id. The WHERE clause of any SELECT statement will include the appropriate reference to one of the id fields ("...WHERE 'labroup_id=n..." or "...WHERE user_id=n..."). My questions are: Is this an approach that will scale to 10^6 or more records? If so, what's the best way to use these fields in a query so that it most efficiently searches the relevant subset of the database? e.g. Should the first step in querying be to create a temporary table containing just the labgroup's data? Or will indexing using some combination of the id, user_id, and labroup_id fields be sufficient at that scale? I thank any responders very much in advance.

  • Generating an Excel file in ASP.NET

    - by Dan Coates
    I am about to add a section to an ASP.NET app (VB.NET codebehind) that will allow a user to get data returned to them as an Excel file, which I will generate based on database data. While there are several ways of doing this, each has its own drawbacks. How would you return the data? I'm looking for something that's as clean and straightforward as possible.

  • Saving contents of ApplicationState in ASP.Net (MVC)

    - by Saqib
    I have an internal app used to edit XML files on disk. The XML files are loaded into an object model which is stored in ApplicationState. I need to save this data. The one option is to do this every time the user changes some data. However, this seems a bit inefficient - writing the data out to disk each time a change is made. Instead, is it possible to be notified whenever the user closes their browser, plus just before the web server exits? Thus, the data would be saved each time a session ends, plus when the computer shuts down, etc. I thought that Application_End(), Application_Error() and Session_End() in Global.asax would provide this, but these methods don't seem to be called.

  • DuplicateKeyException in LINQ, but I've set auto increment and auto sync

    - by Fritos
    I'm getting a DuplicateKeyException error in my C# code. I've set Auto Generated = true, and Auto-Sync = OnInsert in my dbml. I'm not even touching the PK field in any manually written code (as seen below [My primary key field is actually called PK]). using (DeviceExerciseDataDataContext context = new DeviceExerciseDataDataContext()) { foreach(Data tgudData in data.Data) { tgd = new tableData(); tgd.FK = key; tgd.Time = tgudData.TimeStamp; tgd.Calories = Convert.ToInt32(tgudData.Calories); tgd.HeartRate = tgudData.AvgHr; tgd.BenchAngle = tgudData.Angle; tgd.WorkoutTarget = 0; tgd.Reps = tgudData.Reps; context.tableDatas.InsertOnSubmit(tgd); } context.SubmitChanges(); } This is the code for the column in the designer (columns are named PK and FK) [global::System.Data.Linq.Mapping.ColumnAttribute(Storage="_PK", AutoSync=AutoSync.OnInsert, DbType="Int NOT NULL", IsPrimaryKey=true, IsDbGenerated=true)] public int PK { get { return this._PK; } set { if ((this._PK != value)) { this.OnPKChanging(value); this.SendPropertyChanging(); this._PK = value; this.SendPropertyChanged("PK"); this.OnPKChanged(); } } } [global::System.Data.Linq.Mapping.ColumnAttribute(Storage="_FK", DbType="Int")] public System.Nullable<int> FK { get { return this._FK; } set { if ((this._FK != value)) { this.OnFKChanging(value); this.SendPropertyChanging(); this._FK = value; this.SendPropertyChanged("FK"); this.OnFKChanged(); } } }

  • Copy and paste between sheets in a workbook with VBA code

    - by Hannah
    Trying to write a macro in VBA for Excel to look at the value in a certain column from each row of data in a list and if that value is "yes" then it copies and pastes the entire row onto a different sheet in the same workbook. Let's name the two sheets "Data" and "Final". I want to have the sheets referenced so it does not matter which sheet I have open when it runs the code. I was going to use a Do loop to cycle through the rows on the one data sheet until it finds there are no more entries, and if statements to check the values. I am confused about how to switch from one sheet to the next. How do I specifically reference cells in different sheets? Here is the pseudocode I had in mind: Do while DataCells(x,1).Value <> " " for each DataCells(x,1).Value="NO" if DataCells(x,2).Value > DataCells(x,3).Value or _ DataCells(x,4).Value < DataCells(x,5).Value 'Copy and paste/insert row x from Data to Final sheet adding a new 'row for each qualifying row else x=x+1 end else if DataCells(x,1).Value="YES" Loop 'copy and paste entire row to a third sheet 'continue this cycle until all rows in the data sheet are examined

Currently I am using: insertcommand.CommandText = "SELECT sql FROM sqlite_master WHERE sql NOT NULL;"; To pull all the table schema from the file database, however I'm not really sure how to proceed with creating these tables in the new memory database, and copying all the relevant data across. In short, how do I copy an SQLite database from file to memory using C# and System.Data.SQLite?

  • CSRF protecting and cross site form access

    - by fl00r
    Hi. I aw working on cross site authentication (some domains have got common authentication). So I want to send authentication data (login, password) to main domain from others. How should I use protect_from_forgery and how can I check if data received from valid domain? What I am thinking now is to turn off protect_from_forgery for session controller and check domain name of received data. But maybe I can configure CSRF protection for not only one domain?

  • Fails proceeding after POSTing to web server

    - by OverTheRainbow
    Hello According to this question, it seems like the error "Too many automatic redirections were attempted" is caused when forgetting to use a cookiecontainer to connect to a web server that uses cookies to keep track of the user. However, even though I used "request.CookieContainer = MyCookieContainer", I'm still getting into an endless loop that is terminated by VB Express with this error message. Imports System.IO Imports System.Net 'Remember to add reference to System.Web DLL Imports System.Web Imports System.Text Public Class Form1 Const ConnectURL = "http://www.acme.com/logon.php" Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click Dim request As HttpWebRequest = WebRequest.Create(ConnectURL) 'Build POST data request.Method = "POST" request.ContentType = "application/x-www-form-urlencoded" Dim Data As New StringBuilder Data.Append("Account=" + HttpUtility.UrlEncode("jdoe")) Data.Append("&Password=" + HttpUtility.UrlEncode("test")) Dim byteData() As Byte byteData = UTF8Encoding.UTF8.GetBytes(Data.ToString()) request.ContentLength = byteData.Length Dim postStream As Stream = Nothing Try postStream = request.GetRequestStream() postStream.Write(byteData, 0, byteData.Length) Finally If Not postStream Is Nothing Then postStream.Close() End Try 'Dim MyCookieContainer As New CookieContainer Dim MyCookieContainer As CookieContainer = New CookieContainer() request.CookieContainer = MyCookieContainer 'Makes no difference 'request.KeepAlive = True 'request.AllowAutoRedirect = True Dim response As HttpWebResponse 'HERE '"Too many automatic redirections were attempted" response = request.GetResponse() Dim reader As StreamReader = New StreamReader(response.GetResponseStream()) RichTextBox1.Text = reader.ReadToEnd End Sub End Class This is probably a newbie issue, but I don't know what else to try. Any idea? Thank you for any hint.

  • Multiplying matrices: error: expected primary-expression before 'struct'

    - by justin
    I am trying to write a program that is supposed to multiply matrices using threads. I am supposed to fill the matrices using random numbers in a thread. I am compiling in g++ and using PTHREADS. I have also created a struct to pass the data from my command line input to the thread so it can generate the matrix of random numbers. The sizes of the two matrices are also passed in the command line as well. I keep getting: main.cpp:7: error: expected primary-expression before 'struct' my code @ line 7 =: struct a{ int Arow; int Acol; int low; int high; }; My inpust are : Sizes of two matrices ( 4 arguments) high and low ranges in which o generate the random numbers between. • Why to store username and password in Keychain in iPhone app

    - by Suriya
    I have worked with NSUserDefault but this keychain concept is totally new for me. I have tried looking for similar Questions but couldn't find the exact reason to do so. What I have done: I already know how to store data in NSUserDefault. and also the reason why do we need to store it. Regarding Keychain I just know that storing in keychain stores the data with some extra security by encoding the original text while NSUserDefault stores the data as plain text. Is this the only reason for storing the data in keychain?

  • How to fetch populated associated models in CakePHP when calling read()

    - by Code Commander
    I have the following Models: class Site extends AppModel { public $name = "Site"; public $useTable = "site"; public $primaryKey = "id"; public $displayField = 'name'; public $hasMany = array('Item' => array('foreignKey' => 'siteId')); public function canView($userId, $isAdmin = false) { if($isAdmin) { return true; } return array_key_exists($this->id, $allowedSites); } } and class Item extends AppModel { public $name = "Item"; public $useTable = "item"; public $primaryKey = "id"; public $displayField = 'name'; public $belongsTo = array('Site' => array('foreignKey' => 'siteId')); public function canView($userId, $isAdmin = false) { // My problem appears to be the next line: return $this->Site->canView($userId, $isAdmin); } } In my controller I am doing something like this: $result = $this->Item->read(null, $this->request->id); // Verify permissions if(!$this->Item->canView($this->Session->read('userId'), $this->Session->read('isAdmin'))) { $this->httpCodes(403); die('Permission denied.'); } I notice that in Item->canView() $this->data['Site'] is populated with the column data from the site table. But it merely an array and not an object. On the other hand $this->Site is a Site object, but it has not been populated with the column data from the site table like $this->data. What is the proper way to have CakePHP get the associated model as the object and containing the data? Or am I going about this all wrong? Thanks!

(less.env = "development", less.watch()) : true; }; Cluster.prototype.initiate_gmaps_lib_load = function(lib_url) { return Modernizr.load(lib_url); }; /* Initiate XHR Request ~prototype function that creates an xmlhttprequest for processing json data from an separate json text file */ Cluster.prototype.initiate_xhr_request = function(url, mime_type) { var request, data; var self = this; (Modernizr.test_xmlhttprequest) ? request = new ActiveXObject('Microsoft.XMLHTTP') : request = new XMLHttpRequest(); request.onreadystatechange = function() { if(request.readyState == 4 && request.status == 200) { data = request.responseText; } }; request.open("GET", url, false); request.overrideMimeType(mime_type); request.send(); return data; }; Cluster.prototype.initiate_google_maps_action = function() { var self = this; return $(this.maps_wrapper_class).each(function(index, element) { return $(element).on('click', function(ev) { var html = $('<div id="map-canvas" class="map-canvas"></div>'); var latitude = $(element).attr('data-latitude'); var longitude = $(element).attr('data-longitude'); log("LAT : " + latitude); log("LON : " + longitude); $.lightbox(html, { "width": 900, "height": 250, "onOpen" : function() { } }); ev.preventDefault(); }); }); }; Cluster.prototype.initiate_data_processing = function() { var self = this; var json_data = JSON.parse(self.initiate_xhr_request(self.json_data_url, 'application/json; charset=ISO-8859-1')); var source_data = self.initiate_xhr_request(self.template_data_url, 'text/html'); var template = Handlebars.compile(source_data); for(var i = 0; i < json_data.length; i++ ) { var result = template(json_data[i]); $(result).appendTo(self.cluser_wrapper_id); } self.initiate_google_maps_action(); }; /* Cluster ~initiate the cluster class */ var cluster = new Cluster("Development"); }); My problem would be that I don't think I'm iterating the JSON object right or I'm using the template the wrong way because if you check this link : http://rolandgroza.com/labs/valtech/ ; you will see that there are some numbers there ( which represents latitude and longitude ) but they are all the same and if you take only a brief look at the JSON object each number is different. So what am I doing wrong that it makes the same number repeat ? Or what should I do to fix it ? I must notice that I've just started working with templates so I have little knowledge it.

  • Paging Results - Drupal Module

    - by Krishma
    Hi I have custom drupal module. I receive result from a webservice that I need to page. Here is what I am doing $result = webservice_call_results(); $attributes = array( 'border' = 1, 'cellspacing' = 0, 'cellpadding' = 5, 'width' = 600, ); $rows = array(); foreach ($result-headers-RPMHeader as $data) { $rows[] = array( l(t($data-reg_no), round($data-total_payment,2), $data-prepared_by ); } $headers = array(t(' Reg Number'), t('Total Payment'),t('Prepared By')); $output =theme('table',$headers,$rows,$attributes); $output .= theme('pager', 1); // Not Working -- Paging $form['manufacturer_search']['table'] = array( '#type' = 'markup', '#value' = $output); The paging is not working. Any Idea why, please help
