Why do my Taskbar icons disappear after a reboot

W7 Pro 64 bit is networked and configured the reg key %USERPROFILE%\Desktop as [driveletter]:\Desktop. After a power off\power on, it shows all my Desktop icons & Taskbar pinned icons.
