Working as Test Engineer and looking to move into Identity Management Technology. Possible?

I have been working as Test Engineer for past 2.5 year. The project is related to Identity Management and I am in love with the technology. I want to move into the same field.

I don't aim to be a hard core coder but rather an analyst or an IDM architect.

Is it realistically possible to do so? I see some possible issues, since the field is fairly new in India and for the time being I don't have coding/deployment experience at all.

If it is nonetheless possible to switch into this new technology, what kind of effort I have to put in? What are the possible steps that you can suggest to try this switch?
