No GUI, only CLI is working

Right now I'm working on I.MX53 Quick Start Board for which has provided me the eu-boot kernel image with it and Android rootfs. It is working fine.

The problem is when I am trying to change the rootfs with Ubuntu, I am able to use CLI with all 6 terminals working but no GUI is working.

I tried many versions of rootfs like Ubuntu 11.10, 12.04 and core etc. Everything with the same result.

Please help me.
