How to replace a character in NSString without inserting a space?

Let's assume I have the string NSString* myString = @"Hello,"; How can I remove the comma without leaving a space? I have tried: NSString* newString = [myString stringByReplacingOccurrencesOfString:@"," withString:@""]; and NSString* newString = [myString stringByTrimmingCharactersInSet:[NSCharacterSet punctuationCharacterSet]]; But both are leaving spaces.

(Action<T>).Name does not return expected values

I have the following method (used to generate friendly error messages in unit tests): protected string MethodName<TTestedType>(Action<TTestedType> call) { return string.Format("{0}.{1}", typeof(TTestedType).FullName, call.Method.Name); } But when I call it as follows, I don't get the expected results: var nm = MethodName<MyController>(ctrl => ctrl.Create()); After running this code, nm contains "<Create_CreateShowsView>b__8", and not (as expected) "Create". How should I change the code to obtain the expected result?

Python subprocess: callback when cmd exits

Hi, I'm currently launching a programme using subprocess.Popen(cmd, shell=TRUE) I'm fairly new to Python, but it 'feels' like there ought to be some api that lets me do something similar to: subprocess.Popen(cmd, shell=TRUE, postexec_fn=function_to_call_on_exit) I am doing this so that function_to_call_on_exit can do something based on knowing that the cmd has exited (for example keeping count of the number of external processes currently running) I assume that I could fairly trivially wrap subprocess in a class that combined threading with the Popen.wait() method, but as I've not done threading in Python yet and it seems like this might be common enough for an API to exist, I thought I'd try and find one first. Thanks in advance :)

Creating a development environment from a shared hosting production environment (LAMP)

The production server is shared, I don't have access to php.ini and httpd.conf and most PHP settings cannot be set or overrided using ini_set PHP function. So I would like to create a local development environment having configurations as close as it can be to those of the production environment (LAMP). I don't have shell access to the server but using exec PHP function to run some simple commands is possible. I am using Windows XP Pro and I am going to install on VMWare a linux distribution that is more or less the same as the production server. However, installing apache, mysql and php, and then configuring them like those on the production server is not a easy task. It would be great if there exists any tools that are useful in this situation, tools that can analyze/ inspect the production server and then produce something that can help replicating the environment would be useful. If not, what should I be aware of when I try to manually replicate the production environment?

How do I fix broken .exe file association in Windows Vista?

Somehow the file association for all .exe files has been deleted on my windows vista machine. For some reason the only thing I can open is Firefox. I think it was the result of a virus. So I have tried a couple registry edit fixes but none have worked. Has anyone run into this?
