  • Reflow PDFs for an iPhone screen (iPhone SDK)

    I'm currently making an iPhone app that has PDF viewing a crucial part of its functionality. However many of the PDFs aren't iPhone friendly and require zooming and panning to read them. Is there anything I can do to make them better whether with the PDF itself or programmatically? (I'm currently using a UIWebView PDF viewer by the way.)

    Hellom I have a problem in Latex: if i have: \begin{enumerate} \item Alert - Mesaje de avertizare, erori, etc. \item Form - Permite crearea de ecrane compuse din alte componente, cum ar fi imagini (Image) sau articole derivate din Item (ChoiceGroup, CustomItem, DateField, Gauge, ImageItem, Spacer, StringItem, TextField). \item List - Ecran pentru selectarea unei op\c tiuni dintr-o mul\c time prestabilit\u a. \item TextBox - Ecran pentru introducerea unui text. \end{enumerate} \bf BIBLIOGRAFIE \linebreak \linebreak 1.suport\hspace{0.2cm}curs then, i wanna display that BIBLIOGRAFIE after the last item, but with two lines between them. So i have "TextBox - Ecran pentru introducerea unui text.", then two lines, then BIBLIOGRAFIE. how can i write that? with this code, the space between List and TextBox items are very large, and BIBLIOGRAFIE is displayed at the buttom... why? if i use \linebreak after \end{enumerate} i got a compile error Please help Thankls!

  • IntelliJ 9, Glassfish 2.1.1 & Maven2

    I have a Maven2 project which I am editing in IntelliJ IDEA 9.0.2. I am trying to build it and debug it within a Glassfish 2.1.1 container. This is only working sometimes. Occasionally it is giving me an error, telling me it can't deploy. Other times, it deploys, but does not run the filtering on the POM, not replacing a variable in the sun-web.xml file (and other container specific files) leaving it as ${targetenv} instead of replacing it with the value it should. I think I am missing something here, and have something very confused, but I have no idea what. Any help would be most gratefully received.

  • an HTML file is NOT an Excel file, right?

    we use an application that has an "export to excel" feature that doesn't work on PC's that done have outlook express installed. i know, you're thinking "WTF does outlook express have to do with excel files?" i asked the same thing, and here's what i found: the file being generated is actually one of those Microsoft Single File Web Pages (.mht) and NOT an excel file you need to have outlook express installed to actually view a .mht file. i've explained to their support people that just because you can slap a .xls on a file and excel will open it does not mean its an excel file, and does not mean that this is the right way to do it. how would you explain that this is not proper?

  • Refresh table after using jQuery .append()

    The following code gets a JSON object and then spits its contents out into a <table>. The first time I do it I get my JSON content just fine. However, when I refresh, the refreshed data is stuck onto the bottom of my table. How do I refresh the data to show the new data only?   • In a WPF Application, What happens after my code in the main window constructor is executed?

    I'm wondering what happens after the constructor is done executing my code, because the constructor is taking like 10 seconds to run on a cold start up, but according to the profiler, my code is done executing in like 2 seconds. Also stepping through the code in the debugger, after the last line of my constructor, I sit there and wait for 7-8 seconds before the window appears. Why is this? If the window is loading content or something, why isn't it displayed on the screen, done loading or not after the constructor finishes it's job? What's the hold up? (or how do i figure that out)

  • How to code Microsoft Excel "Shift Cells Up" feature in SQL

    Take a simple table like below: Column Headings: || Agent's Name || Time Logged In || Center || Row 1: Andrew || 12:30 PM || Home Base Row 2: Jeff || 7:00 AM || Virtual Base Row 3: Ryan || 6:30 PM || Test Base Now lets say that a single cell is deleted so the table now looks like this: Column Headings: || Agent's Name || Time Logged In || Center || Row 1: Andrew || 12:30 PM || Row 2: Jeff || 7:00 AM || Virtual Base Row 3: Ryan || 6:30 PM || Test Base Notice that "Home Base" is missing. Now in excel you can delete the cell and shift the rest so the finished product looks like below: Column Headings: || Agent's Name || Time Logged In || Center || Row 1: Andrew || 12:30 PM || Virtual Base Row 2: Jeff || 7:00 AM || Test Base Row 3: Ryan || 6:30 PM || And you can see we are left with a blank cell last row. How do I code this procedure of shifting the cells up in SQL? I've been struggling on this problem for weeks! Thank you!

  • How to get access to console to reset Cisco 3750?

    I acquired two Cisco 3750 switches from another part of my organization. I was able to complete the standard password/config reset procedure on one without any issues -- boot it, put it into express config mode, telnet in, reset the passwords, etc. The second one doesn't ever boot to the point where it displays anything on the console. When power cycled, the 'SYST' light flashes green a few times, then comes on a solid green and stays lit. None of the other lights ever flash or light up. Holding down the 'MODE' button for up to 30 seconds produces no noticeable effects. Nothing ever comes out on the console. Since I was able to configure the first one without any problems, I know my connectinon is good -- console port configured right, good cable, etc. Is this just a hardware problem with the switch? Is there any way I can recover from this and get the switch back into a state where I can configure it?

  • [MISC GEEKERY] Support for Some Versions of Windows is Ending

    Are you sticking with your older version of Windows instead of upgrading to Windows 7?  There’s no problem with that, but here’s a quick reminder to make sure you’re running the latest service pack to stay protected. Microsoft offers security updates and more throughout the lifetime of a version of Windows, and periodically they roll all the latest updates and improvements together into a service pack.  After a while, only computers running the latest service pack will still get updates to keep them safe. Recently, Microsoft has been warning that support is ending for Windows XP with Service Pack 2 and the release version of Windows Vista.  When support ends, you will not receive any new security updates for Windows.  You can continue to use your computer the same as before, but it may not be as secure and if new security issues are discovered they will not be updated. However, it’s easy to stay supported: simply install XP Service Pack 3 or Vista Service Pack 2, depending on your computer.  Here’s how to do that: Windows XP To install Windows XP Service Pack 3, you can either check Windows Update for updates, or simply download it from Microsoft at this link: Download XP Service Pack 3 Run the download (or if you’re updating from Windows Update the installer will automatically launch), and proceed just as you normally would when installing a program.  Your computer will have to reboot during the install, so make sure you’ve saved all your work and closed other programs before installing.   To check what service pack your computer is running, click Start, then right-click on the My Computer button and choose Properties. This will show you what version and service pack of Windows you are running, and in this screenshot we see this computer has be updated to Service Pack 3. Please Note:  The version of XP shipped with Windows XP Mode in Windows 7 comes preconfigured with Service Pack 3, and does not need updated.  Additionally, if your computer is running the 64 bit version of Windows XP, then Service Pack 2 is the latest service pack for your computer, and it is still supported. Windows Vista If your computer is running Windows Vista, you can install Service Pack 2 to stay up to date and supported.  Simply check Windows Update for Service Pack 2 if you haven’t installed it yet, or download the installer for your computer from the link below: 32 bit: Vista Service Pack 2 32-bit 64 bit: Vista Service Pack 2 64-bit Run the installer, and simply set it up as a normal program installation.  Do note that your computer will reboot during the installation, so make sure to save your work and close other programs before installing. To see what service pack your computer is running, click the Start orb, then right-click on the Computer button and select Properties. This will show what service pack and edition of Windows Vista your computer is running right at the top of the page.   • Eclipse Problems View doesn't show Errors

    [Note: There is another thread about this problem but it did not answer the question.] For one specific project in Eclipse, the problems view does not show errors. It shows warnings but it does not show errors. The other projects do show errors (and everything else). For that problematic project, I can see the red squiggly error line in the files. However, the directory structure does not show an error icon and the error is not populated in the Problems View. Any ideas?

  • jQuery + Jeditable - detect when select is changed

    I'm using Jeditable for in-place editing. One the controls I am working with has the select type. When a user clicks on the field, the following select control is generated: <div id="status" class="editable_select"> <form> <select name="value"> <option value="Active">Active</option> <option value="Inactive">Inactive</option> </select> <button type="submit">Save</button> <button type="cancel">Cancel</button> </form> </div> What I am trying to figure out is how to use jQuery to detect when that select control is changed, especially since it doesn't have an ID attribute.   • Database table design vs. ease of use.

    I have a table with 3 fields: color, fruit, date. I can pick 1 fruit and 1 color, but I can do this only once each day. examples: red, apple, monday red, mango, monday blue, apple, monday blue, mango, monday red, apple, tuesday The two ways in which I could build the table are: 1.- To have color, fruit and date be a composite primary key (PK). This makes it easy to insert data into the table because all the validation needed is done by the database. PK color PK fruit PK date 2.- Have and id column set as PK and then all the other fields. Many say thats the way it should be, because composite PKs are evil. For example, CakePHP does no support them. PK id color fruit date Both have advantages. Which would be the 'better' approach?

  • What static analysis tool do you prefer?

    Ideally, I'm looking for something to integrate into visual studio 2005, but if i could run it on the command line on windows or on linux for gcc, that would be okay also. I'm looking for something in the $1000 range so I understand I wont get the best tools available. But I also prefer something better than cppcheck, which is free. Any ideas? Thanks.

  • paged list with checkboxes, keep the checkbox value browsing through the paging?

    Hi. I got a list of customers I thought I would list in a gridview or a repeater with customer html, it gone have paging. I'm gone have a checkbox for each customer in the list. Do you guys have any suggestions on how I should do to keep the checkbox value when I go to page 2-3-4 ect in the paging. I'm thinking a session to store the id of the checked customers. After I'm done setting the values they go to the database. Do you got any other ideas then the session I'm thinking of? thanks guys
