  • How should I implement an email circuit test?

    I want a high-level test that ensures that both incoming and outgoing email services are operating normally. I've achieved this by writing a python script which does this: Send a message with a unique hash through my mail server to [email protected] The gmail account is configured to auto-reply back to the same address and then delete the message. My script polls IMAP until it finds an email with the correct hash sitting in its inbox, or times out. It reports the elapsed time to my monitoring software (Zabbix) My question: Is gmail the best third-party to use? Should I add a couple others as well such as hotmail and yahoo? Is there anyone more official that will auto-reply to these sorts of "mail pings"? Any other recommendations for this type of test?

  • BAM Data Control in multiple ADF Faces Components

    As we know Oracle BAM data control instance sharing is not supported.When two or more ADF Faces components must display the same data, and are bound to the same Oracle BAM data control definition, we have to make sure that we wrap each ADF Faces component in an ADF task flow, and set the Data Control Scope to isolated. This blog will show a small sample to demonstrate this. In this sample we will create a Pie and Bar using same BAM DC, such that both components use same Data control but have isolated scope.This sample can be downloaded  fromSample1.zip Set-up: Create a BAM data control using employees DO (sample) Steps: Right click on View Controller project and select "New->ADF Task Flow" Check "Create Bounded Task Flow" and give some meaningful name (ex:EmpPieTF.xml ) to the TaskFlow(TF) and click on "OK"CreateTF.bmpFrom the "Components Palette", drag and drop "View" into the task flow diagram. Give a meaningful name to the view. Double Click and Click "Ok" for  "Create New JSF Page Fragment" From "Data Controls" drag and drop "Employees->Query"  into this jsff page as "Graph->Pie" (Pie: Sales_Number and Slices: Salesperson) Repeat step 1 through 4 for another Task Flow (ex: EmpBarTF). From "Data Controls" drag and drop "Employees->Query"  into this jsff page as "Graph->Bar" (Bars :Sales_Number and X-axis : Salesperson). Open the Taskflow created in step 2. In the Structure Pane, right click on "Task Flow Definition -EmpPieTF" Click "Insert inside Task Flow Definition - EmpPieTF -> ADF Task Flow -> Data Control Scope". Click "OK"TFDCScope.bmpFor the "Data Control Scope", In the Property Inspector ->General section, change data control scope from Shared to Isolated. Repeat step 8 through 11 for the 2nd Task flow created. Now create a new jspx page example: Main.jspxDrag and drop both the Task flows (ex: "EmpPieTF" and "EmpBarTF") as regions. Surround with panel components as needed.Run the page Main.jspxMainPage.bmpNow when the page runs although both components are created using same Data control the bindings are not shared and each component will have a separate instance of the data control.

  • How to calculate order (big O) for more complex algorithms (ie quicksort)

    I know there are quite a bunch of questions about big O notation, I have already checked Plain english explanation of Big O , Big O, how do you calculate/approximate it?, and Big O Notation Homework--Code Fragment Algorithm Analysis?, to name a few. I know by "intuition" how to calculate it for n, n^2, n! and so, however I am completely lost on how to calculate it for algorithms that are log n , n log n, n log log n and so. What I mean is, I know that Quick Sort is n log n (on average).. but, why? Same thing for merge/comb, etc. Could anybody explain me in a not to math-y way how do you calculate this? The main reason is that Im about to have a big interview and I'm pretty sure they'll ask for this kind of stuff. I have researched for a few days now, and everybody seem to have either an explanation of why bubble sort is n^2 or the (for me) unreadable explanation a la wikipedia Thanks!

  • hasErrors with indexed property

    I am having hard time getting hasErrors to work with indexed properties. For example class Order { String prop1 String prop2 static hasMany = [items: Item] } class Item { String name static constraints = { name(blank:false) } } Validation works properly and on item.name being blank I do get an error with <g:renderErrors bean="${orderInstance}"/> However, I am trying to have input box highlighted using hasErrors : <g:each in="${orderIntsance.items}" status="i" var="item"> <span class="field ${hasErrors(bean: orderInstance, field: ????????? , 'errors')}"> <g:textField name="items[${i}].name" value="${item?.name}"/> </span> </g:each> Not sure how to get to it with a field: property, any ideas?   • How can I get nexus to proxy springsource maven repository on s3?

    I have nexus 1.5.0 setup to proxy springsource repositories but it's not working. The repositories are on s3 that nexus doesn't seem to understand how to deal with that. What's the right pattern? Here are the repositories I'm told I need, but I cannot access the maven paths with in them http://repository.springsource.com/maven/bundles/release http://repository.springsource.com/maven/bundles/external Do, I need to mirror these locally?

  • dumping the source code for an anonymous function

    I'm working with a lot of anonymous functions, ie functions declared as part of a dictionary, aka "methods". It's getting pretty painful to debug, because I can't tell what function the errors are happening in. Vim's backtraces look like this: Error detected while processing function NamedFunction..2111..2105: line 1: E730: using List as a String This trace shows that the error occurred in the third level down the stack, on the first line of anonymous function #2105. IE NamedFunction called anonymous function #2111, which called anonymous function #2105. NamedFunction is one declared through the normal function NamedFunction() ... endfunction syntax; the others were declared using code like function dict.func() ... endfunction. So obviously I'd like to find out which function has number 2105. Assuming that it's still in scope, it's possible to find out what Dictionary entry references it by dumping all of the dictionary variables that might contain that reference. This is sort of awkward and it's difficult to be systematic about it, though I guess I could code up a function to search through all of the loaded dictionaries for a reference to that function, watching out for circular references. Although to be really thorough, it would have to search not only script-local and global dictionaries, but buffer-local dictionaries as well; is there a way to access another buffer's local variables? Anyway I'm wondering if it's possible to dump the source code for the anonymous function instead. This would be a lot easier and probably more reliable.

  • YUI Image Loader Images Above Fold Not Loading Until Scroll event.

    I have a function that is called on the window.onload event to create a group of images and render via the scroll event. function LoadImages(){ var foldGroup = new YAHOO.util.ImageLoader.group(window, 'scroll'); for(var i=0; i<someCounter; i++){ var locationId = locationsArr[i]; foldGroup.registerSrcImage('Location_' + locationId, GetImageDomain()+'/templates/Includes/imagehandler.ashx?locationId=' + locationid); } foldGroup.foldConditional = true; foldGroup.addTrigger(window, 'resize'); } The problem I'm having is that when the page loads, the images "above the fold" are not rendered until I scroll. Is there any tips on troubleshooting this? I'm totally not a js/frontend guy :) Thanks in advance!

  • Sharepoint 2007: Disabling Edit/Read Only mode?

    If I open a doc in read only mode I'm able to press save and then it opens up a save as box and the default directory is the directory on the sharepoint server and if you press save you save it to the server. This actually makes the whole process not really "read only" mode since I could actually update the document. Is there a way to prevent this from happening so that if someone chooses read only there is no way possible to updload any changes back to the sharepoint site? Also, it has been suggested as a solution to get rid of the edit/read only option so that people have to check out the document. Is there a way to remove the edit/read only option on documents?

Is there a special way that the objects are constructed using this syntax? More importantly, how can I recreate this in code?

    Hi guys Is there a way to check the data sent by a form to a PHP page return to the form page WITHOUT resetting the data sent and show a error? The form has 20 fields and I need to check one of them on a bd. If it fails the user may be redirected to the form page with the form populated and displaying a error message on the field which is 'wrong'. I would like any advice of a technique instead of populating each field using PHP.

  • MySQL ALTER TABLE on very large table - is it safe to run it?

    I have a MySQL database with one particular MyISAM table of above 4 million rows. I update this table about once a week with about 2000 new rows. After updating, I then perform the following statement: ALTER TABLE x ORDER BY PK DESC i.e. I order the table in question by the primary key field in descending order. This has not given me any problems on my development machine (Windows with 3GB memory), but, even though 3 times I have tried it successfully on the production Linux server (with 512MB RAM - and achieving the resulted sorted table in about 6 minutes each time), the last time I tried it I had to stop the query after about 30 minutes and rebuild the database from a backup. I have started to wonder whether a 512MB server can cope with that statement (on such a large table) as I have read that a temporary table is created to perform the ALTER TABLE command?! And, if it can be safely run, what should be the expected time for the alteration of the table? Thanks in advance, Tim

  • What's the best way to debug URLRewrite rules?

    Trying to do a few URLRewrite rules - some of them worked, some didn't. For those that didn't work, how do you debug it? Especially if the rule was never invoked, how do I tell where I'm making a mistake? Tried Live HTTP Header extension with firefox as well as checking the server access logs, to no avail. My site is hosted with cpanel, using apache, and the rewrite rules are defined in .htaccess (I have some rules that worked, so it's not a setup issue I'm pretty sure) Thanks

  • Using JBoss EL on Weblogic 11g (10.3.1.0)

    Hi, I have a facelets 1.2 application that I am running on Weblogic 11g. I want to use the JBoss EL implementation that allows me to call bean methods with arguments. For this, I have packaged the jboss-el-2.0.1.GA.jar in my WAR's WEB-INF/lib directory. I have also added a context-param in my web.xml to override the Sun implementation. <context-param> <param-name>com.sun.faces.expressionFactory</param-name> <param-value>org.jboss.el.ExpressionFactoryImpl</param-value> </context-param> But when I load a page that contains an expression like <ice:outputText value="#{errBean.getErrMsg(error.code)}"/> I get an expression parsing exception java.lang.Exception: javax.faces.FacesException: com.sun.el.parser.ParseException: Encountered "(" at line 1, column 25. Was expecting one of: "}" ... "." ... ... at com.sun.el.parser.ELParser.generateParseException(ELParser.java:1651) at com.sun.el.parser.ELParser.jj_consume_token(ELParser.java:1531) at com.sun.el.parser.ELParser.DeferredExpression(ELParser.java:134) at com.sun.el.parser.ELParser.CompositeExpression(ELParser.java:61) at com.sun.el.lang.ExpressionBuilder.createNodeInternal(ExpressionBuilder.java:128) at com.sun.el.lang.ExpressionBuilder.build(ExpressionBuilder.java:177) at com.sun.el.lang.ExpressionBuilder.createValueExpression(ExpressionBuilder.java:221) at com.sun.el.ExpressionFactoryImpl.createValueExpression(ExpressionFactoryImpl.java:81) at com.sun.facelets.tag.TagAttribute.getValueExpression(TagAttribute.java:256) Weblogic does not seem to be using the JBoss EL ExpressionFactoryImpl. I don't understand what is going on. This worked on Weblogic 9.2.2. What is it that I am doing wrong? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
