  • High level command line program for burning CDs and DVDs?

    I'm sick of screwing around trying to script a clean solution to burn multiple files and folders to CDs and DVDs with wodim, growisofs and genisoimage. I'm looking for a high level command line program that uses sensible defaults and takes arguments something like this: [program-name] [cd|dvd] /path/to/dir1/ /path/to/dir2/ /path/to/file ... It should then do all the low level copying and ISO generation transparently and just burn the damn disk! Does anyone have any suggestions? I've looked at several programs but it seems there are too many choices to trawl through and not enough information about them online. Thanks :)

  • WPF, convert Path.DataProperty to Segment objects

    I was wondering if there was a tool to convert a path data like "M 0 0 l 10 10" to it's equivalent line/curve segment code. Currently I'm using: string pathXaml = "<Path xmlns=\"http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation\" xmlns:x=\"http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml\" Data=\"M 0 0 l 10 10\"/>"; Path path = (Path)System.Windows.Markup.XamlReader.Load(pathXaml); It appears to me that calling XamlParser is much slower than explicitly creating the line segments. However converting a lot of paths by hand is very tedious.

  • Facebook dialogs keep popping up in Firefox

    I have a facebook application running in a FBML canvas and I have a problem with dialogs (either extended permissions or stream publish dialogs). Once they popup, they keep popping up for every subsequent requests. I've tested it in Chrome and everything works fine. It seems that the URL is chained in Firefox, which gives cryptic long urls like : http://apps.facebook.com/webdweller-po/discover?_fb_q=1&_fb_qsub=apps.facebook.com#!/webdweller-dev/?_fb_q=1&_fb_qsub=apps.facebook.com Did anybody experienced such a bug?

  • How do I pause main() until all other threads have died?

    In my program, I am creating several threads in the main() method. The last line in the main method is a call to System.out.println(), which I don't want to call until all the threads have died. I have tried calling Thread.join() on each thread however that blocks each thread so that they execute sequentially instead of in parallel. Is there a way to block the main() thread until all other threads have finished executing?   • how to run commands (external) in gvim

    I am getting ready to write lot of small experimental java programs as I am studying for java certification. Since I want to avoid using an IDE I'm giving gvim a try. I have a HelloWorld.java file open. How can I run javac and then java and then be able to see the output all in one window? I do not want to alt tab to a dos prompt window. compile/run the program there and then come back to my editor.

Say I have a hierarchy: struct Base { virtual int precision() const = 0; }; template<int Precision> struct Derived : public Base { typedef Traits<Precision>::Type Type; Derived(Type data) : value(data) {} virtual int precision() const { return Precision; } Type value; }; I want a function like: Base* function(const Base& a, const Base& b); Where the specific type of the result of the function is the same type as whichever of first and second has the greater Precision; something like the following pseudocode: template<class T> T* operation(const T& a, const T& b) { return new T(a.value + b.value); } Base* function(const Base& a, const Base& b) { if (a.precision() > b.precision()) return operation((A&)a, A(b.value)); else if (a.precision() < b.precision()) return operation(B(a.value), (B&)b); else return operation((A&)a, (A&)b); } Where A and B are the specific types of a and b, respectively. I want f to operate independently of how many instantiations of Derived there are. I'd like to avoid a massive table of typeid() comparisons, though RTTI is fine in answers. Any ideas?

  • Intellij + GWT 2: Development Mode ignores changes to static content

    The new Development Mode in GWT 2 is awesome, but unfortunately as launched from Intellij IDEA 9, it does not seem to notice changes made to static files such as html, css, etc. It immediately see changes in *.java files, but not the static ones. If I make a change in a static file I need to quite the Development Mode tool and re-launch it. This is painfully slow, and negates much of the point of using dev mode in the first place I assume this is some artifact resulting from the way the Intellij runner launches it- it creates an out/artifacts/project_war_exploded directory with the static content and class files. How can I get Intellij Dev Mode tool to follow changes made to the original static source files?

  • Is there stl and utf8 friendly C++ Wrapper for ICU, or other powerful unicode library

    Hello, I need a good Unicode library for C++. I need Transformations in Unicode sensitive way. For example sort all strings in case insensitive way and get their first characters for index. Convert to upper and to lower various Unicode strings. Split text in reasonable position -- words that would work for Chinese and Japanese as well. Formatting numbers, dates in locale sensitive way (should be thread safe). Transparent support of utf8 (primary internal representation). As far as I know the best library is ICU. However, I can't find normal developer friendly API documentation with examples. Also as far as I see, it is not too friendly with modern C++ design, work with STL and so on. Like this std::string msg; unistring umsg.from_utf8(msg); unistring::word_iterator wi; for(wi=umsg.words().begin(),n=0;wi!=usmg.words().wi_end(),n<10;++wi,++n) ; msg=umsg.substr(umsg.words().begin(),wi).to_utf8(); cout<<_("Five 10 words are ")<<msg; Does anybody know good STL friendly ICU wrapper released under Open Source license preferred permissive like MIT or Boost, but others LGPLv2 compatible are ok as well.   • javascript - catch SyntaxError and run alternate function

    Hello there, I'm trying to build something on javascript that I can have an input that can be everything like string, xml, javascript and (non-javascript string without quotes) as follows: //strings eval("'hello I am a string'"); /* note the following proper quote marks */ //xml eval(<p>Hello I am a XML doc</p>); //javascript eval("var hello = 2+2;"); So this first 3 are working well since they are simple javascript native formats but when I try use this inside javascript //plain-text without quotes eval("hello I am a plain text without quotes"); //--SyntaxError: missing ; before statement:--// Obviously javascript interprets this as syntax error because it thinks its javascript throwing a SyntaxError. So what I would like to do it to catch this error and perform the adjustment method if this occurs. I've already tried with try catch but it doesn't work since it keeps returning the Syntax error as soon as it tries to execute the code. Any help would be much appreciated Cheers :) Additional Information: Imagine an external file that javascript would read, using spidermonkey, so it's a non-browser stuff(I can't use HttpRequest, DOM, etc...)..not sure if this matters, but there it is. :)

Now I have installed drupal but it is very hard for me to set here. I have made changes in configuration file like database, and in base_url.   • Reset after using a link with parameters

    I am using the window.location.search parameters (www.mysite.com?page=1) to direct the user to a specific page within the site. However, since those parameters are still in window.location (the browser) reset button continues to re-direct to the same page. I would like the reset button to re-direct to www.mysite.com How do I clear the .search parameters so the (browser) reset button re-directs where I want? Is it done after the page is loaded? or after the (browser) reset button has been clicked?
