  • Possible to sort via two time stamps and display same row twice.

    I'm looking at creating a time table solution. I have a task sheet that looks like Area 1 item 1 startTime endTime Area 1 item1 startTime endTime I wish to create a display where I can view what even is happening next, either endTime or startTime i.e. Newcastle reel 16:45 18:45 Newcastle reel2 17:45 19:45 would output Newcastle reel 16:45 Newcastle reel 17:45 Newcastle reel 18:45 Newcastle reel 19:45 More so, I would like to detect if the time is a startTime or an endTime would I have to enter two rows for each activity (time,area,item, start|end). I can make the interface to the creation of two rows. I just wondered if there was a better solution. Any input is appreciated, Thanks, Jamie

    Hi All: Look at the following code: StringBuilder row = TemplateManager.GetRow("xyz"); // no control over this method StringBuilder rows = new StringBuilder(); foreach(Record r in records) { StringBuilder thisRow = new StringBuilder(row.ToString()); thisRow.Replace("%firstName%", r.FirstName) .Replace("%lastName%", r.LastName) // all other replacement goes here .Replace("%LastModifiedDate%", r.LastModifiedDate); //finally append row to rows rows.Append(thisRow); } Currently 3 StringBuilders and row.ToString() is inside a loop. Is there any room for further optimization here? Thanks a bunch. :-)

  • Difference between putting variables in header vs putting variables in source

    Say I declare a header file with a variable: int count; Then in the source file, I want to use count. Do I have to declare it as: extern int count Or can I just use it in my source file? All assuming that I have #include "someheader.h". Or should I just declare it in the source file? What is the difference between putting count in the header file vs the source file? Or does it not matter?

  • get a function of external file

    I am using jQuery and my js file thats calling a jquery function resides in totally different directory than jQuery is in. I need to call this function reloadPage like this from js file reloadPage({param1:'First Parameter', param2:ID}); but it gives me an error Line: 341 Error: Object doesn't support this property or method Line 341 is reloadPage({param1:'First Parameter', param2:ID});. What can I do to run this function from outside the directory? I tried parent.reloadPage({param1:'First Parameter', param2:ID}); But that didnt work either.

  • Activerecord default accessors & unusual requirements

    I have an ActiveRecord::Base class which needs to have a field that is automatically generated when a new instance is made. How should I go about doing this? By defining an initialize function? class Thing < ActiveRecord::Base # 'special' (integer) needs to be set to lowest unused number (above 0) # considering that random rows will be removed via other processes end This is as far as I've got! Any ideas?

  • Why can't my c++ program find the necessary .dll file?

    I am trying to use OpenCV (a computer vision library), which appearently uses a few .dll files, located in C:\OpenCV\bin (which has been added to the system PATH variable). However, if I try to run a simple test program, it gives a system error: "The program can't start because highgui.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem." If I copy the highgui.dll file into the system32 folder, it works, but I don't want to have to put all the necessary .dll files in the system32 folder. Does anyone know why the .dll file can't be found or what I should do to fix it? (I already checked all paths in the PATH variable for validity.)

  • Perl: Asynchronous file monitoring

    I am wondering if it is possible, and if so how, one could create a perl script that constantly monitors a file/db, and then call a subroutine to perform text processing if the file is changed. I'm pretty sure this would be possible using sockets, but this needs to be used for a webchat application on a site running on a shared host, and I'm not so sure sockets would be allowed on it. The basic idea is: -create a listener for a chat file/database -when the file is updated with a new message, call a subroutine -the called subroutine will send the new message back to the browser to be displayed Thanks in advance.

  • Unicode identifiers in Python?

    Hi all, I want to build a Python function that calculates, and would like to name my summation function S. In a similar fashion, would like to use ? for product, and so on. I was wondering if there was a way to name a python function in this fashion? def S (..): .. .. That is, does Python support unicode identifiers, and if so, could someone provide an example for it? Thanks! Original motivation for this was a piece of Clojure code I saw today that looks like, (defn entropy [X] (* -1 (S [i X] (* (p i) (log (p i)))))) where S is a macro defined as, (defmacro S ... ) and I thought that was pretty cool.

  • Wanted a tool for decompiling obfuscated .NET code

    Hello. I need a tool to decompile obfuscated .NET code. Yes, I know about Reflector and its plugins (FileDisassemble, FileGenerator). But they create VS project which won't compile. For an example the decompiled code contains: private sealed class d__0 : IEnumerator, IEnumerator, IDisposable { private int <1__state; private int <2__current; I need a tool which could rename automatically such name into readable (read "compilable") form. Thnx.

    I have an array containing arrays of names and other details, in alphabetical order. Each array includes the first letter associated with the name. Array ( [0] => Array ( [0] => a [1] => Alanis Morissette ) [1] => Array ( [0] => a [1] => Alesha Dixon ) [2] => Array ( [0] => a [1] => Alexandra Burke ) [3] => Array ( [0] => b [1] => Britney Spears ) [4] => Array ( [0] => b [1] => Bryan Adams ) ) I'd like to display them grouped by that first initial, eg: A - Alanis Morissette Alesha Dixon Alexandra Burke B - Britney Spears Bryan Adams etc...   • The Immerman-Szelepcsenyi Theorem

    In the Immerman-Szelepcsenyi Theorem, two algorithms are specified that use non-determinisim. There is a rather lengthy algorithm using "inductive counting", which determines the number of reachable configurations for a given non-deterministic turing machine. The algorithm looks like this: Let m_{i+1}=0 For all configurations C Let b=0, r=0 For all configurations D Guess a path from I to D in at most i steps If found Let r=r+1 If D=C or D goes to C in 1 step Let b=1 If r<m_i halt and reject Let m_{i+1}=m_{i+1}+b I is the starting configuration. m_i is the number of configurations reachable from the starting configuration in i steps. This algorithm only calculates the "next step", i.e. m_i+1 from m_i. This seems pretty reasonable, but since we have nondeterminisim, why don't we just write: Let m_i = 0 For all configurations C Guess a path from I to C in at most i steps If found m_i = m_i + 1 What is wrong with this algorithm? I am using nondeterminism to guess a path from I to C, and I verify reachability I am iterating through the list of ALL configurations, so I am sure to not miss any configuration I respect space bounds I can generate a certificate (the list of reachable configs) I believe I have a misunderstanding of the "power" of non-determinisim, but I can't figure out where to look next. I am stuck on this for quite a while and I would really appreciate any help.

  • How to use method hiding (new) with generic constrained class

    I have a container class that has a generic parameter which is constrained to some base class. The type supplied to the generic is a sub of the base class constraint. The sub class uses method hiding (new) to change the behavior of a method from the base class (no, I can't make it virtual as it is not my code). My problem is that the 'new' methods do not get called, the compiler seems to consider the supplied type to be the base class, not the sub, as if I had upcast it to the base. Clearly I am misunderstanding something fundamental here. I thought that the generic where T: xxx was a constraint, not an upcast type.   • WebSVN install on IIS 6.0

    I am trying to set up WebSVN on a Windows Server 2003 machine and not having any luck. I have done the following: Installed FastCGI Installed PHP 5.3.1.0 to c:\PHP Updated php.ini with the following: cgi.force_redirect = 0 cgi.fix_pathinfo = 1 fastcgi.impersonate = 1 fastcgi.logging = 0 Downloaded and extracted WebSVN 2.3.0 to D:\myWebRoot\websvn Copy distconfig.php to config.php Added the following: $config-setSVNCommandPath('c:\Program Files\Subversion\bin'); $config-setDiffPath('C:\Program Files\FogBugz\accessories'); $config-addRepository('Documents', 'https://myServer/myDir/Docs)', null, 'myDocsUser', 'myDocsPassword'); When I browse to URL myServer//websvn, I get the following error: Error running this command: "c:\Program Files\Subversion\bin\svn" --version --config-dir /tmp Any ideas?

  • div stacking/layout with css or javascript

    so i have 4 divs (i actually have many more but this will simplify the question). i want to display them in two columns. the 4 divs vary in height. the number of actual divs in the end will vary. so if i have this <div id="1" style="height: 200px" class="inline">some content here</div> <div id="2" style="height: 600px" class="inline">some content here</div> <div id="3" style="height: 300px" class="inline">some content here</div> <div id="4" style="height: 200px" class="inline">some content here</div> with styling thus .inline { display: inline-block; vertical-align: top; width: 48%;} so #1 would go left and then #2 would shove up beside it to the right, great, but the #3 will not slide up the 400px to fit nicely below #1. (of course)... it goes on the left side but at 600px from the top clearing the bottom of #2. etc... how would i get the divs to slide up into the empty spaces, is it possible with css? jquery maybe? i know i could write column divs to mark it up, but since the number of divs constantly change and the heights vary according to content. It would be nice to just get rid of the space since we dont really care about the order. any thoughts?

  • prgramming a windows service

    I have started prgramming a windows service. I have added a notify icon from the toolbox. It has the small notify icon that appears in the systray as a member of those icons. It works so far. So far I have a blank form. I have used the DoubleClick for the notifyIcon to bring up the form (I will use the form for something later). Now I have a list of things I want to accomplish to make this work like a true windows service. First of all, if possible, I owuld like to remove the maximize and cancel button on the form. Most windos service apps that I have seen offer the ability to close the app by right-mouse-button clicking on the notify icon which brings up a menu of options. I see in the properties of the form under Misc there is an CancelButton. But I do not see how do deactivate it. In the Properties of the forum I see under Window Style there is a ControlBox option that, if I turn to false, all three buttons, (minimize, maximize and cancel) go away. These are not what i am looking for. I would not like the option for them to resize, maximize or close the form here. I suspect people will close the box intending to make the box go away while still wanting the app to run. Under the "Focus" caption in Properties, there id "Deactivate". I have created my own event/method/function for this and in debug I noticed that when you click on the x-box in the upper right corner, this function is called. The problem is that after the function is over, the app closes anyway. How do I over-ride this function? Secondly, how do you catch the right button click event on the notify icon in the systray? I can see how to create events for "Click" and "MouseClick" etc. but how so I determine which button was click? Using the right buton click is how such programs know when to pull up a menu. So I would like to know how to do this as well.

  • Is it possible to get all member variables in flash(AS3)?

    Hi, I am trying grab all the member variables in AS3, and then foreach one i would like to process it in various ways. I would need the name and then if it is a collection of some type I would like to loop through that collection as well. I am attempting to essentially serialize in a somewhat custom fashion. Thanks!
