  • NetBeans and Eclipse-like "run configurations"

    Is it possible to create anything similar to Eclipse's "run configurations" in NetBeans? I am working on a huge project which is currently not divided into any subprojects in Eclipse. There are in fact many applications in the project which have their own main-methods and separate classpaths. I know, it's a mess. I'm considering about migrating the project to NetBeans. In the long run it would be sensible to create many projects but for now it would be a real life-saver if I could do similar stuff in NetBeans than in Eclipse: create "launchers" which have their own classpaths. Is this possible? If it's easy to emulate this behaviour with "external" projects, hints about that are welcome as well.

  • Using the public ssh key from local machine to access two remote users [closed]

    I have an new Ubuntu (Hardy 8.04) server; it has two users, Alice and Bob. Alice is listed in sudoers. I appended my public ssh key (my local machine's public key local/Users/nick/.ssh/id_rsa.pub) to authorized_keys in remote_server/home/Alice/.ssh/authorized_keys, changed the permissions on Alice/.ssh/ to 700 and Alice/.ssh/authorized_keys to 600, and both the file and folder are owned my Alice. Then added I Alice to sshd_config (AllowUsers Alice). This works and I can login into Alice: ssh -v [email protected] ... debug1: Offering public key: /Users/nick/.ssh/id_rsa debug1: Server accepts key: pkalg ssh-rsa blen 277 debug1: Authentication succeeded (publickey). debug1: channel 0: new [client-session] debug1: Entering interactive session. Last login: Mon Mar 15 09:51:01 2010 from 123.456.789.00 I then copied the authorized_keys file remote_server/home/Alice/.ssh/authorized_keys to remote_server/home/Bob/.shh/authorized_keys and changed the permissions and ownership and added Bob to AllowUsers in sshd_config (AllowUsers Alice Bob). Now when I try to login to Bob it will not authenticate the same public key. ssh -v [email protected] ... debug1: Offering public key: /Users/nick/.ssh/id_rsa debug1: Authentications that can continue: publickey debug1: Trying private key: /Users/nick/.ssh/identity debug1: Trying private key: /Users/nick/.ssh/id_dsa debug1: No more authentication methods to try. Permission denied (publickey). Am I missing something fundamental about the way ssh works?

  • Issue with corrupt 1tb volume: can we rescue SQL databases?

    We have an instance where some how a 1tb volume has become corrupted. There are Event ID 55 errors in the system event viewer. When running chkdsk, it gets to 47% verifying indexes and returns to the command prompt. If we are unable to rescue the data on the drive then we have a full backup of the databases from some time ago. The logfiles of which are on a different volume which is intact. Would it be viable to restore the databases and somehow replay the log files? I have seen articles about replaying logfiles from a logfile backup (.trn), however we have the actual logfiles (.ldf) Any help would be appreciated.

  • Video converter to convert any format to light-weight avi format(for mobile and portable multimedia

    These answers don't satisfy MY needs. My mobile supports .3gp and .avi formats 3gp files are always smaller in size but with least quality (especially audio part) Avi (certainly) exhibits better quality but the video converter I am using (namely Xillisoft VidConverter) outputs avi file with very high size, which isn't suitable for portable devices So I'm looking for (essentially free or open source) software that creates smaller files with a better quality than 3gp! thank you :-)

  • Audio card with built-in ground isolator?

    What audio cards would you recommend that eliminate hum, and hard-drive & mouse movement signal interference? Hardware components: Motherboard. Asus P5Q SE Audio. Realtek ALC 1200, 8-Channel High-Definition Audio CODEC (on board) Harddrive. WD Caviar 320 GB Mouse. Logitech Marbleman USB Mixer. Mackie d.4 Pro Amplifier. Sonance Sonamp 260 All components are plugged into the same Monster Power HDP 910 powerbar (does not help eliminate noise). I have no other components plugged in. The computer uses a Monster iCable 1000 to go from mini (on board audio) to RCA (mixer). I have moved the cable as far from other cables as possible. A ground loop isolator between the mixer and on board audio eliminates all noise. I would rather not use a ground loop isolator; an internal audio card that is Linux-compatible (Kubuntu) would be ideal. Suggestions?

  • New Dvds with 99 Title tracks, which one is the correct track?

    I have embarked on the task of backing up my DVD collection. I have noticed that some of the newer movies I am attempting to rip contain 99 Title tracks all with approximately equal overall run times. I use MacTheRipper to rip the DVDs and Handbrake to encode them. My question is, is there a site somewhere that has information regarding which Title track to select? Disclaimer: I cannot stress this enough, I legally own these DVDs. I am merely making a digital copy. Two examples of such DVDs are Star Trek and Carriers. UPDATE: Just an FYI each most of these 99 tracks appear to be the full length tracks. There times look to be very similar to the overall movie run time (within a few seconds of each other). So using the time isn't a valid way to tell which is the correct track. Opening the movie with VLC seems to be the best way to tell. Thank you all.

  • iChat Screen Sharing - Keyboard shortcut to switch back to my computer without messing with the mous

    When you are watching a screen sharing session commanded by the other user, in other words, you are watching the other user doing stuff in his computer, how do I switch back to my computer without disrupting the other user by stealing the mouse to click on the "My Computer" window? Put simply: To go back to my computer I have to click in the "My computer" little window at the bottom, but that requires me to use the mouse which is being used by the other user. There must be a way to use a keyboard shortcut to perform that action without bothering the other user who is using the mouse to do something important. Anyone? Thanks, -Sergio

    I was wondering if it is possible to convert a dvd to a flash application which I could then embed in a website. What I am looking for is not simply ripping the video, but something that encodes the menus and the navigation of the dvd, as well, and the result is an interactive flash application. Thanks! Edit: actually I have the original iDVD project, as well. I would like to turn it into a flash application...

    I have a managed object with a dueDate attribute. Instead of displaying using some ugly date string as the section headers of my UITableView I created a transient attribute called "category" and defined it like so: - (NSString*)category { [self willAccessValueForKey:@"category"]; NSString* categoryName; if ([self isOverdue]) { categoryName = @"Overdue"; } else if ([self.finishedDate != nil]) { categoryName = @"Done"; } else { categoryName = @"In Progress"; } [self didAccessValueForKey:@"category"]; return categoryName; } Here is the NSFetchedResultsController set up: NSFetchRequest *fetchRequest = [[NSFetchRequest alloc] init]; NSEntityDescription *entity = [NSEntityDescription entityForName:@"Task" inManagedObjectContext:managedObjectContext]; [fetchRequest setEntity:entity]; NSMutableArray* descriptors = [[NSMutableArray alloc] init]; NSSortDescriptor *dueDateDescriptor = [[NSSortDescriptor alloc] initWithKey:@"dueDate" ascending:YES]; [descriptors addObject:dueDateDescriptor]; [dueDateDescriptor release]; [fetchRequest setSortDescriptors:descriptors]; fetchedResultsController = [[NSFetchedResultsController alloc] initWithFetchRequest:fetchRequest managedObjectContext:managedObjectContext sectionNameKeyPath:@"category" cacheName:@"Root"]; The table initially displays fine, showing the unfinished items whose dueDate has not passed in a section titled "In Progress". Here is the handler for the button (self.task is the managed object): - (void)taskDoneButtonTapped { self.task.finishedDate = [NSDate date]; } As soon as the value of the "finishedDate" attribute changes I'm hit with this exception: 2010-03-18 23:29:52.476 MyApp[1637:207] Serious application error. Exception was caught during Core Data change processing: no section named 'Done' found with userInfo (null) 2010-03-18 23:29:52.477 MyApp[1637:207] *** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInternalInconsistencyException', reason: 'no section named 'Done' found' I've managed to figure out that the UITableView that is currently hidden by the new details view is trying to update its rows and sections because the NSFetchedResultsController was notified that something changed in the data set. The exception is thrown before either controller:didChangeObject:atIndexPath:forChangeType:newIndex or controller:didChangeSection:atIndex:forChangeType are called. At this point I'm stuck. If I change my sectionNameKeyPath to just "dueDate" then everything works fine. I think that's because the dueDate attribute never changes whereas the category will be different when read back after the finishedDate attribute changes. Please help!     I’m trying out the Silverlight 4 beta DataForm control. I don’t seem to be able to get the edit and paging options at the top of the control like I’ve seen in Silverlight 3 examples. Has something changed or am I doing something wrong?   • How to increment variable names/Is this a bad idea

    In Python, if I were to have a user input the number X, and then the program enters a for loop in which the user inputs X values, is there a way/is it a bad idea to have variable names automatically increment? ie: user inputs '6' value_1 = ... value_2 = ... value_3 = ... value_4 = ... value_5 = ... value_6 = ... Can I make variable names increment like that so that I can have the number of variables that the user inputs? Or should I be using a completely different method such as appending all the new values onto a list?

    I need to localiza a in development app for English & Spanish. Despite the fact I follow the Apple way of use NSLocalizedString & create nibs for both, I already lost the track of the new string that need to get localized and found with surprise that I need to redo the nibs in spanish when I change the master. (Just like this http://www.gigliwood.com/weblog/Cocoa/A_Great_Need_for_Be.html) I wonder if exist a better/alternative/more automated way. I know the use of gettext & poedit and wonder if something like that can be used. Or if exist some script or tool for this.

  • Extending an entity

    I have class named AbstractUser, which is annotated with @MappedSuperclass. Then I have a class named User (@Entity) which extends AbstractUser. Both of these exist in a package named foo.bar.framework. When I use these two classes, everything works just fine. But now I've imported a jar containing these files to another project. I'd like to reuse the User class and expand it with a few additional fields. I thought that @Entity public class User extends foo.bar.framework.User would do the trick, but I found out that this implementation of the User only inherits the fields from AbstractUser, but nothing from foo.bar.framework.User. The question is, how can I get my second User class to inherit all the fields from the first User entity class? Both User class implementation have different table names defined with @Table(name = "name").

  • 2-col layout, one col scrolls vertical, other is fixed. Both scroll horizontal.

    Im trying to do a 2 column layout where the left column is very long vertically, and the right column is very long horizontally. When I scroll vertically, I want to move up and down the left column while the right one stays fixed. When I scroll horizontally, both columns move left-right (normal behaviour) I hope this drawing explain it more (sorry for the bad quality): Is this possible to do using only css? If not, how can I do it with javascript? Thanks
