  • Settings variable values in a Moq Callback() call

    - by Adam Driscoll
    I think I may be a bit confused on the syntax of the Moq Callback methods. When I try to do something like this: IFilter filter = new Filter(); List<IFoo> objects = new List<IFoo> { new Foo(), new Foo() }; IQueryable myFilteredFoos = null; mockObject.Setup(m => m.GetByFilter(It.IsAny<IFilter>())).Callback( (IFilter filter) => myFilteredFoos = filter.FilterCollection(objects)).Returns(myFilteredFoos.Cast<IFooBar>()); This throws a exception because myFilteredFoos is null during the Cast<IFooBar>() call. Is this not working as I expect? I would think FilterCollection would be called and then myFilteredFoos would be non-null and allow for the cast. FilterCollection is not capable of returning a null which draws me to the conclusion it is not being called. Also, when I declare myFilteredFoos like this: Queryable myFilteredFoos; The Return call complains that myFilteredFoos may be used before it is initialized.

  • A taxonomy of web frameworks?

    - by Rob
    There seem to be several different categories of web frameworks, e.g. MVC, component based, event-driven, action-based, etc. I can't find a comprehensive list of categories and definitions anywhere. (I dare not ask for examples as well.) Is there a general taxonomy of web application frameworks somewhere, or is this too fuzzy a question to allow for definitive answers?

For example: I/O ports, interruptions, communication between two or more CPU, etc. I need for the emulator to has the best performance and good understanding of the code. PD: Sorry for my bad English. EDITED - Asking for multiple patterns.

  • What is the preferred sql server column definition to use for a LINQ to SQL Version property?

    - by Mike Two
    We are using the IsVersion property on the ColumnAttribute on a property in a LINQ to SQL class for optimistic concurrency checks. What should the column definition be in the database? Currently we are using version_number int NOT NULL IDENTITY (1, 1) Do we need Identity? Can we get LINQ to SQL to update the version number for us? The only issue with Identity is that every row has a different number. We'd like to see the number increment by 1 when the row is updated.

  • Which programming language suits web critical application development?

    - by jcyang
    According to this page,it seems that Perl,PHP,Python is 50 times slower than C/C++/Java. Thus,I think Perl,PHP,Python could not handle critical application(such as 100 million user,xx million request every second) well.But exceptions are exist,e.g. facebook(it is said facebook is written with PHP entirely),wikipeida.Moreover,I heard google use Python extensively. So why?Is it the faster hardware fill the big speed gap between C/C++/Java and Perl/PHP/Python? thanks.

    Hi friends, I know there are many tutorials online, but I could not make them work :( maybe something particularly wrong with my system :/ My Controller localpath is: /localhost/rl/applications/backend/controller/ Controller: function do_upload() { $config['upload_path'] = './uploads/'; $config['allowed_types'] = 'gif|jpg|png'; $config['max_size'] = '100'; $config['max_width'] = '1024'; $config['max_height'] = '768'; $this->load->library('upload', $config); if ( ! $this->upload->do_upload()) { $error = array('error' => $this->upload->display_errors()); $this->load->view('add_image', $error); } else { $data = array('upload_data' => $this->upload->data()); $data['id'] = $this->input->post['id_work']; $this->load->view('add_image', $data); } } My View localpath is: /localhost/rl/applications/backend/view/ View: echo form_open_multipart('do_upload'); <ul class="frm"> <li><label>File: *</label><input type="file" name="userfile" class="frmlmnt" size="50" /></li> <li><label></label><input type="submit" class="btn" value="Upload" /></li> </ul> </form> Maybe I do something wrong with path

  • (ASP.NET) Problem with a repeater nested in a repeater, how to know when it is a itemCommand?

    - by NoProblemBabe
    I have the following problem: Keeping in mind the following structure: <repeater> <updatepanel> <div> <link id="fatherLink" /> </div> <div> <repeater> <link id="childLink"/> </repeater> <div> </updatepanel> </repeater> right? I am using updatepanel, so, when i click in the fatherlink, i put a click method in the server side, so it populates it's child repeater. no problems in there, but I need that the childLink to perform a action on the server side, like take in account some data and then sending to a given page to do something else. When doing this I happen to notice that there are three situations: 1 - First server call, is not a postback it populates the father repeater (no problems here). 2 - Second server call, when the father link is clicked i populate the child repeater. Something like a "fatherLink_Click" function (no problems here). 3 - Third server call, when the child is clicked: i can't seem to know that it is the child's item command, so i can't stop it from databinding all over again, which kills my itemcommand event... (the problem). What can I do?

  • WCF DataContract with readonly properties

    - by Asaf R
    Hi, I'm trying to return a complex type from a service method in WCF. I'm using C# and .NET 4. This complex type is meant to be invariant (the same way .net strings are). If I try to define only getters on properties I get a run time error. I guess this is because no setters causes serialization to fail. Still, I think this type should be invariant. Is there a way to make readonly properties on a WCF DataContract? Is, how? If not, what would you suggest for this problem? Thanks, Asaf

  • In which order is model binding and validation done in ASP.NET MVC 2?

    - by Simon Bartlett
    I am using ASP.NET MVC 2, and am using a view-model per view approach. I am also using Automapper to map properties from my domain-model to the view-model. Take this example view-model (with Required data annotation attributes for validation purposes): public class BlogPost_ViewModel { public int Id { get; set; } [Required] public string Title { get; set; } [Required] public string Text { get; set; } } In the post editor view I am using a rich text editor (CKeditor). Because CKeditor is a HTML editor, I ideally need CKeditor to HTMLencode the user's input when the form is submitted, so that ASP.NET's input validation does not complain. This is not a problem as CKeditor has this functionality built in, however I need CKeditor's output decoded before mapping back to the domain object (via Automapper). I am wanting to add a new property (to the view-model above) to solve this, as follows: public string HTMLEncodedText { get { return HTMLEncode(Text); } set { Text = HTMLDecode(value); } } I can then bind this property to CKeditor in the view, but still use Automapper to map the 'Text' property in the controller - all without having to turn input-validation off. My question is: do you know how the model binding and validation process in ASP.NET MVC 2 works? Are all model properties binded before validation is carried out? Or is each individual property get validated when it is being set. I think ideally for my idea to work, all properties need to be set before the model is validated.

  • Vista WHS Client stopped resolving local names

    - by andrewcr
    I’m running Windows Home Server PP2 in my home, with 3 client computers: two XP and one Vista. I have a router that provides my local DHCP and the server has a static IP address. The other day the Vista machine hung, and on reboot stopped resolving local names. It will show the green home server client icon in the system tray, but if I attempt to log in to the console, I get a “This computer cannot connect to your home server” message. If I ping the server name from the command line, it does not resolve, and gives a “could not find host” message. Oddly enough, if I browse the network, I can see the server, but double clicking on it fails. The other machines on the local network have no problems seeing the server, and the Vista machine has no problems resolving names from the internet, it just can’t see any local machines. I’m aware that I can work around this by adding entries to my HOSTS file (it does work), but I’d like this to work the way it’s “supposed” to. I’m an experienced computer user and developer, but not a networking whiz. Can anyone tell me how local name resolution is supposed to work in my environment and/or suggest ways to troubleshoot this? Thanks, Andy

The server drives are quite a bit <???? and I would imagine that the CSV file would be at least 40 MB. Edit by Guffa: I commented out some lines in the code, using double ticks ('') so you can see where.

  • How do I write the audio stream to a memory buffer instead of a file using DirectShow?

    - by yngvedh
    Hi, I have made a sample application which constructs a filter graph to capture audio from the microphone and stream it to a file. Is there any filter which allows me to stream to a memory buffer instead? I'm following the approach outlined in an article on msdn and are currently using the CLSID_FileWriter object to write the audio to file. This works nicely, but I cannot figure out how to write to a memory buffer. Is there such a memory sink filter or do I have to create it myself? (I would prefer one which is bundled with windows XP)

  • How to refactor T-SQL stored procedure encapsulating it's parameters to a class

    - by abatishchev
    On my SQL Server 2008 I have a stored procedure with a large number of parameters. The first part of them is used in every call and parameters from the second part are used rarely. And I can't move the logic to two different stored procedures. Is there a way to encapsulate all this parameters to a class or struct and pass it as a stored procedure parameter? Can I use SQL CLR. Are there other ways?

  • Custom ViewModel with MVC 2 Strongly Typed HTML Helpers return null object on Create ?

    - by Barbaros Alp
    Hi, I am having a trouble while trying to create an entity with a custom view modeled create form. Below is my custom view model for Category Creation form. public class CategoryFormViewModel { public CategoryFormViewModel(Category category, string actionTitle) { Category = category; ActionTitle = actionTitle; } public Category Category { get; private set; } public string ActionTitle { get; private set; } } and this is my user control where the UI is <%@ Control Language="C#" Inherits="System.Web.Mvc.ViewUserControl<CategoryFormViewModel>" %> <h2> <span><%= Html.Encode(Model.ActionTitle) %></span> </h2> <%=Html.ValidationSummary() %> <% using (Html.BeginForm()) {%> <p> <span class="bold block">Baslik:</span> <%=Html.TextBoxFor(model => Model.Category.Title, new { @class = "width80 txt-base" })%> </p> <p> <span class="bold block">Sira Numarasi:</span> <%=Html.TextBoxFor(model => Model.Category.OrderNo, new { @class = "width10 txt-base" })%> </p> <p> <input type="submit" class="btn-admin cursorPointer" value="Save" /> </p> <% } %> When i click on save button, it doesnt bind the category for me because of i am using custom view model and strongly typed html helpers like that <%=Html.TextBoxFor(model => Model.Category.OrderNo) %> How can i fix this ?
