  • View HTML Tags and Webpage Combined in Firefox

    - by Asian Angel
    Do you want an easier way to see a webpage’s html tags without viewing the source code in a separate window? Now you can view the webpage and tags combined in the same window using the X-Ray extension for Firefox. Before Usually if you want to see the source code behind a webpage you have to view it in a separate window. If you are only interested in a specific section then you have to search through the entire set of code just to find what you are looking for. After The X-Ray extension will let you see the document’s tags (including class and ID names) “side by side” with the webpage in the same tab. You can use either the context menu or the tools menu to access the X-Ray command. Here is the same webpage section shown in the first screenshot above. It may look a little odd at first until you get used to seeing both together. Note: You can return the webpage to its’ normal view by either clicking on the X-Ray command again or refreshing the page. The code for part of the sidebar on the same webpage… Followed by one of the sets of links at the end. Looking at another example suppose you are interested in how part of the main feed is set up. Being able to see how a particular element is set up directly in the webpage is certainly better than searching through the entire page of code. Conclusion If you design webpages and want an easy way to see how someone else’s website is coded then you may want to give this extension a try. • Writing a Data Access Layer (DAL) for SQL Server

    In this tip, I am going to show you how you can create a Data Access Layer (to store, retrieve and manage data in relational database) in ADO .NET. I will show how you can make it data provider independent, so that you don't have to re-write your data access layer if the data storage source changes and also you can reuse it in other applications that you develop. • Haskell: writing the result of a computation to file

    - by peterwkc
    I have a function which creates a tuple after computation, but I would like to write it to file. I know how to write to a file using writeFile, but do not know how to combine the computation and monads IO together in the type signature. This is my code. invest :: ([Char]->Int->Int->([Char], Int) ) -> [Char]->Int->Int->([Char], Int) invest myinvest x y = myinvest x y myinvest :: [Char]->Int->Int->([Char], Int) myinvest w x y | y > 0 = (w, x + y) | otherwise = error "Invest amount must greater than zero" where I have a function which computes the maximum value from a list, but I want this function to receive input from a file, and then perform the computation of maximum value. maximuminvest :: (Ord a) => [a] -> a maximuminvest [] = error "Empty Invest Amount List" maximuminvest [x] = x maximuminvest (x:xs) | x > maxTail = x | otherwise = maxTail where maxTail = maximuminvest xs Please help. Thanks.

  • How to Load assembly to AppDomain with all references recursively?

    - by abatishchev
    I want to load to new AppDomin some assembly which has a complex references tree (MyDll.dll - Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.dll - Microsoft.Vbe.Interop.dll - Office.dll - stdole.dll) As far as I understood, when an assembly is been loaded to AppDomain, it's references would not be loaded automatically, and I have to load them manually. So when I do: string dir = @"SomePath"; // different from AppDomain.CurrentDomain.BaseDirectory string path = System.IO.Path.Combine(dir, "MyDll.dll"); AppDomainSetup setup = AppDomain.CurrentDomain.SetupInformation; setup.ApplicationBase = dir; AppDomain domain = AppDomain.CreateDomain("SomeAppDomain", null, setup); domain.Load(AssemblyName.GetAssemblyName(path)); and got FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'MyDll, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. I think the key word is one of its dependencies. Ok, I do next before domain.Load(AssemblyName.GetAssemblyName(path)); foreach (AssemblyName refAsmName in Assembly.ReflectionOnlyLoadFrom(path).GetReferencedAssemblies()) { domain.Load(refAsmName); } But got FileNotFoundException again, on another (referenced) assembly. How to load all references recursively? Have I to create references tree before loading root assembly? How to get an assembly's references without loading it?

  • C# Detect Localhost Port Usage

    - by ThaKidd
    In advance, thank you for your advice. I am currently working on a program which uses Putty to create a SSH connection with a server that uses local port forwarding to enable a client, running my software, to access the service behind the SSH server via localhost. IE: client:20100 - Internet - Remote SSH server exposed via router/firewall - Local Intranet - Intranet Web POP3 Server:110. Cmd Line: "putty -ssh -2 -P 22 -C -L 20100:intranteIP:110 -pw sshpassword sshusername@sshserver" Client would use putty to create a SSH connection with the SSH server specifying in the connection string that it would like to tie port 110 of the Intranet POP3 Server to port 20100 on the client system. Therefore the client would be able to open up a mail client to localhost:20100 and interact with the Internal POP3 server over the SSH tunnel. The above is a general description. I already know what I am trying to do will work without a problem so am not looking for debate on the above. The question is this...How can I ensure the local port (I cannot use dynamic ports, so it must be static) on localhost is not being used or listened to by any other application? I am currently executing this code in my C# app: private bool checkPort(int port) { try { //Create a socket on the current IPv4 address Socket TestSocket = new Socket(AddressFamily.InterNetwork, SocketType.Stream, ProtocolType.Tcp); // Create an IP end point IPEndPoint localIP = new IPEndPoint(IPAddress.Parse("127.0.0.1"), port); // Bind that port TestSocket.Bind(localIP); // Cleanup TestSocket.Close(); return false; } catch (Exception e) { // Exception occurred. Port is already bound. return true; } } I am currently calling this function starting with a specific port in a for loop to get the 'false' return at the first available port. The first port I try is actually being listened to by uTorrent. The above code does not catch this and my connection fails. What is the best method to ensure a port is truly free? I do understand some other program may grab the port during/after I have tested it. I just need to find something that will ensure it is not currently in use AT ALL when the test is executed. If there is a way to truly reserve the localhost port during the test, I would love to hear about it.

  • What purpose does “using” serve when used the following way

    What purpose does “using” serve when used the following way:- ONE EXAMPLE IS THIS, (AN ANSWERER- @richj - USED THIS CODE TO SOLVE A PROBLEM THANKS) private Method(SqlConnection connection) { using (SqlTransaction transaction = connection.BeginTransaction()) { try { // Use the connection here .... transaction.Commit(); } catch { transaction.Rollback(); throw; } } } OTHER EXAMPLE I FOUND WHILE READING ON MICROSOFT SUPPORT SITE public static void ShowSqlException(string connectionString) { string queryString = "EXECUTE NonExistantStoredProcedure"; StringBuilder errorMessages = new StringBuilder(); using (SqlConnection connection = new SqlConnection(connectionString)) { SqlCommand command = new SqlCommand(queryString, connection); try { command.Connection.Open(); command.ExecuteNonQuery(); } catch (SqlException ex) { for (int i = 0; i < ex.Errors.Count; i++) { errorMessages.Append("Index #" + i + "\n" + "Message: " + ex.Errors[i].Message + "\n" + "LineNumber: " + ex.Errors[i].LineNumber + "\n" + "Source: " + ex.Errors[i].Source + "\n" + "Procedure: " + ex.Errors[i].Procedure + "\n"); } Console.WriteLine(errorMessages.ToString()); } } } I AM doing at top of page as using system.data.sqlclient etc so why this using thing in middle of code, What if I omit it (I know the code will work) but what functionality will I be losing

  • Large Video Uploads via a website

    - by Andrew
    Some of the problems that can happen are timeouts, disconnections, and not being able to resume a file and having to start from the beginning. Assuming these files are up to around 5gigs in size, what is the best solution for dealing with this problem? I'm using a Drupal 6 install for the website. Some of my constraints due to the server setup I have to deal with: Shared hosting with max 200 connections at a time (unlimited disk space) Shared hosting. Unable to create users through an API (so can't automatically generate ftp accounts) I do have the ability to run cron-type scripts via a Drupal module. My initial thought was to create ftp users based off of Drupal accounts and requiring them to download an ftp client for their OS of choice. But the lack of API to auto-create ftp accounts and the inability to do it from command line kind of hinder that solution. If there's a workaround someone can think of, let me know! Thanks

  • Effective file permissions tool's api in windows

    - by apoorv020
    Starting from Windows Server 2003, Windows included a new tool which calculates the effective permissions for a user (basically it resolves all groups access and takes care of all "deny" permissions as well). An example in point is that a user A belongs to groups B and C. B has been denied read permissions on a file F, while C has been allowed read and write permissions on the file and I want to calculate the effective permissions user A has on file F. This tool is available on Windows Server 2003,Vista,7 and Server 2008 by right clicking on a file and going to properties - security - advanced - effective permissions. What I need is an API in C# which does the same job. The most common FILE API returns access rules (class FileAccessRules), but there seems to be no direct way to calculate effective permissions from these set of access rules. Note: I do not want to process effective permissions in the code if at all possible, but am ready to do so as a last resort.

  • pdfLaTeX + memoir class compile error

    - by Sebastien
    Hi, I'm in the middle of writing my thesis, and was using KOMA-Script. The document compiles just fine. I stumbled upon the memoir class yesterday, and was thinking of giving it a try, so here I am trying to compile with this class instead of KOMA-Script. First compilation is OK On second compilation, the document would not build (./fourier/fourier.tex [98] ! Undefined control sequence. <argument> ... C\protect \noexpand \protect \bond \protect \noexpand \protec... l.1 \chapter {Homogénéisation numérique par transformée de Fourier rapide} ? It has apparently not connected to hyperlink (btw, I'm using memhfixc), since I've commented this one out. Here is the preamble of my document, any thoughts ? Thanks in advance, S %\documentclass[draft, 11pt, a4paper, chapterprefix]{scrreprt} \documentclass[draft, 11pt, a4paper]{memoir} \usepackage[authoryear, round]{natbib} \usepackage[french]{babel} \usepackage[latin1]{inputenc} \usepackage{pdfsync} \usepackage[version=3]{mhchem} \usepackage{pgf} \usepackage{microtype} \usepackage{txfonts} % Polices times \usepackage[notref, notcite]{showkeys} \usepackage{amsmath} \usepackage{amssymb} \usepackage[bvec]{sbmacros} \usepackage{micromechanics} \usepackage{pgfcad} %\usepackage[breaklinks=true]{hyperref} %\usepackage{memhfixc} % Pour assurer la compatibilité entre memoir et hyperref %\newcommand{\url}[1]{\texttt{#1}} % Options KOMA-Script % \addtokomafont{caption}{\small} % \pagestyle{headings}

  • WCF Multiple contracts with duplicate method names

    - by haxelit
    Hello, I have a service with multiple contracts like so. [ServiceContract] public partial interface IBusinessFunctionDAO { [OperationContract] BusinessFunction GetBusinessFunction(Int32 businessFunctionRefID); [OperationContract] IEnumerable<Project> GetProjects(Int32 businessFunctionRefID); } [ServiceContract] public partial interface IBusinessUnitDAO { [OperationContract] BusinessUnit GetBusinessUnit(Int32 businessUnitRefID); [OperationContract] IEnumerable<Project> GetProjects(Int32 businessUnitRefID); } I then explicitly implemented each one of the interfaces like so. public class TrackingTool : IBusinessFunctionDAO, IBusinessUnitDAO { BusinessFunction IBusinessFunctionDAO.GetBusinessFunction(Int32 businessFunctionRefID) { // implementation } IEnumerable<Project> IBusinessFunctionDAO.GetProjects(Int32 businessFunctionRefID) { // implementation } BusinessUnit IBusinessUnitDAO.GetBusinessUnit(Int32 businessUnitRefID) { // implementation } IEnumerable<Project> IBusinessUnitDAO.GetProjects(Int32 businessUnitRefID) { // implementation } } As you can see I have two GetProjects(int) methods, but each one is implemented explicitly so this compiles just fine and is perfectly valid. The problem arises when I actually start this as a service. It gives me an error staying that TrackingTool already contains a definition GetProject. While it is true, it is part of a different service contract. Does WCF not distinguish between service contracts when generating the method names ? Is there a way to get it to distinguish between the service contracts ? My App.Config looks like this <service name="TrackingTool"> <endpoint address="BusinessUnit" contract="IBusinessUnitDAO" /> <endpoint address="BusinessFunction" contract="IBusinessFunctionDAO" /> </service> Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Raul

  • Define a method in base class that returns the name of itself (using reflection) - subclasses inheri

    - by Khnle
    In C#, using reflection, is it possible to define method in the base class that returns its own name (in the form of a string) and have subclasses inherit this behavior in a polymorphic way? For example: public class Base { public string getClassName() { //using reflection, but I don't want to have to type the word "Base" here. //in other words, DO NOT WANT get { return typeof(Base).FullName; } return className; //which is the string "Base" } } public class Subclass : Base { //inherits getClassName(), do not want to override } Subclass subclass = new Subclass(); string className = subclass.getClassName(); //className should be assigned "Subclass"

  • Manipulating binary data in Python

    - by Dominic Bou-Samra
    I am opening up a binary file like so: file = open("test/test.x", 'rb') and reading in lines to a list. Each line looks a little like: '\xbe\x00\xc8d\xf8d\x08\xe4.\x07~\x03\x9e\x07\xbe\x03\xde\x07\xfe\n' I am having a hard time manipulating this data. If I try and print each line, python freezes, and emits beeping noises (I think there's a binary beep code in there somewhere). How do I go about using this data safely? How can I convert each hex number to decimal?
