  • Mass data store with SQL SERVER

    - by Leo
We need management 10,000 GPS devices, each GPS device upload a GPS data every 30 seconds, these data need to store in the database(MS SQL Server 2005). Each GPS device daily data quantity is: 24 * 60 * 2 = 2,880 10 000 10,000 GPS devices daily data quantity is: 10000 * 2880 = 28,800,000 Each GPS data approximately 160Byte, the amount of data per day is: 28,800,000 * 160 = 4.29GB We need hold at least 3 months of GPS data in the database, My question is: 1, whether SQL Server 2005 can support such a large amount of data store? 2, How to plan data table? (all GPS data storage in one table? Daily table? Each GPS device with a GPS data table?) The GPS data: GPSID varchar(21), RecvTime datetime, GPSTime datetime, IsValid bit, IsNavi bit, Lng float, Lat float, Alt float, Spd smallint, Head smallint, PulseValue bigint, Oil float, TSW1 bigint, TSW1Mask bigint, TSW2 bigint, TSW2Mask, BSW bigint, StateText varchar(200), PosText varchar(200), UploadType tinyint

  • Creating a unique id for a Core Data program on the iPhone

    - by Big Twisty
I am fairly new at programming in Objective-C, having been a windows programmer since I was a kid. I am falling in LOVE with it. I am, however, having a bit of trouble figuring out this Core Data stuff. How do I create a new entry with a unique ID? In SQL I would just declare one field as an autoincrement field. I'm not seeing anything like that here, but I could just be missing something. I just want an auto incrementing NSInteger field, so when I manually add items to the database, I will have some form of reference to them.

  • Does this code follow the definition of recursion?

    - by dekz
    Hi All, I have a piece of code which I am doubting it as a implementation of recursion by its definition. My understanding is that the code must call itself, the exact same function. I also question whether writing the code this way adds additional overhead which can be seen with the use of recursion. What are your thoughts? class dhObject { public: dhObject** children; int numChildren; GLdouble linkLength; //ai GLdouble theta; //angle of rot about the z axis GLdouble twist; //about the x axis GLdouble displacement; // displacement from the end point of prev along z GLdouble thetaMax; GLdouble thetaMin; GLdouble thetaInc; GLdouble direction; dhObject(ifstream &fin) { fin >> numChildren >> linkLength >> theta >> twist >> displacement >> thetaMax >> thetaMin; //std::cout << numChildren << std::endl; direction = 1; thetaInc = 1.0; if (numChildren > 0) { children = new dhObject*[numChildren]; for(int i = 0; i < numChildren; ++i) { children[i] = new dhObject(fin); } } } void traverse(void) { glPushMatrix(); //draw move initial and draw transform(); draw(); //draw children for(int i = 0; i < numChildren; ++i) { children[i]->traverse(); } glPopMatrix(); } void update(void) { //Update the animation, if it has finished all animation go backwards if (theta <= thetaMin) { thetaInc = 1.0; } else if (theta >= thetaMax) { thetaInc = -1.0; } theta += thetaInc; //std::cout << thetaMin << " " << theta << " " << thetaMax << std::endl; for(int i = 0; i < numChildren; ++i) { children[i]->update(); } } void draw(void) { glPushMatrix(); glColor3f (0.0f,0.0f,1.0f); glutSolidCube(0.1); glPopMatrix(); } void transform(void) { //Move in the correct way, R, T, T, R glRotatef(theta, 0, 0, 1.0); glTranslatef(0,0,displacement); glTranslatef(linkLength, 0,0); glRotatef(twist, 1.0,0.0,0.0); } };

  • Automation of EAR packing

    - by glebreutov
I need to automate packing of Java EE projects into EAR archive in Eclipse. The most easy way, I think, is using Ant script. But writing of Ant from start is routine and long task. Is there a way to generate Ant script based on my actions in eclipse (like macros in MS Office)? Or, maybe, exists easier way to do this? Thanks!

  • Is there a way to prevent Triggers from being disabled?

    - by HAdes
I have a trigger on a table that should never be disabled. It performs certain checks and there have been occasions when other developers have disabled it to get around it. This is not good so I want to be able to turn off trigger disablement on this table alone. Is this possible? If not, any suggestions please. thanks.

  • How to debug a GWT application running on OSGi?

    - by Jaime Soriano
I'm developing a web UI using GWT. While working only with the widgets I could debug from Eclipse using the Firefox extension, but now that I'm integrating the UI with other OSGi bundles I cannot use this solution. For deploying the GWT application I create the .war and convert it to an OSGi bundle using BND. Then I launch the OSGi container with all the bundles using Pax Runner and Pax Web and the application works correctly, but when something fails in the generated javascript code I don't have any decent output error or debugging facility. Is there any way to launch the GWT application in "debug mode" from OSGi? Any other idea that could help in this scenario?

  • Retrieve all hashtags from a tweet in a PHP function

    - by snorpey
Hi. I want to retrieve all hashtags from a tweet using a PHP function. I know someone asked a similar question here, but there is no hint how exactly to implement this in PHP. Since I'm not very familiar with regular expressions, don't know how to write a function that returns an array of all hashtags in a tweet. So how do I do this, using the following regular expression: #\S*\w

  • Why does this symfony code not work?

    - by morpheous
I am trying to pass parameters from one action (foo) to another (foobar). In action foo, I set the arguments thus: $request->getParameterHolder()->set('arg1', 'alice'); $request->getParameterHolder()->set('arg2', 'bob'); In action foobar, I try to retrieve the params thus: $arg1 = $request->getParameter('arg1'); $arg2 = $request->getParameter('arg2'); $this->forward404Unless($arg1 && $arg2); //always forwarded Note: I am aware that I can save the params into the user session variable - but I dont want to do that. I want to pass them as parameters - any ideas how to get this to work?

  • Information about upgrading a Resharper plugin to v 5.0

    - by Sam Holder
I like the sound of the Exceptional plugin for resharper, but it says it currently only works with v4.5. Does anyone know what is involved with upgrading to 5.0 and how much things have changed, which bits will need to be looked at etc. I am quite tempted to upgrade it but would like some pointers before I start...

  • ASP.NET MVC 2 - user defined database connection.

    - by J Harley
Hello, I am looking to port my very basic DBMS software from classic ASP to ASP.net - however the user would need to input the connection details in order to connect to their specific DBMS server. Is this at all possible with ASP.NET MVC (very similar to DSN-less connections in ASP). Cheers, Joel
