  • Can anyone get app-engine plugin working with Grails on mac os x?

    I have been trying for 4 days to get app-engine and grails working together on my mac to no avail. I am using latest groovy/grails and appengine sdk versions. Im following the app-engine plugin step by step on the grails site.. http://grails.org/plugin/app-engine Groovy Version: 1.7.1 JVM: 1.5.0_22 Grails 1.3.0.RC1 echo $APPENGINE_HOME reveals /Users/markstim/appengine-java-sdk-1.3.2 I perform the following steps 1. grails create-app myapp 2. cd myapp; grails list-plugins reveals hibernate 1.3.0.RC1 -- Hibernate for Grails tomcat 1.3.0.RC1 -- Apache Tomcat plugin for Grails add the following line to Config.groovy google.appengine.application="myapp" install the plugin for app-engine grails install-plugin app-engine and answer 'jpa' when asked (no errors yet) installed plugins list now looks like app-engine 0.8.9 -- Grails AppEngine plugin gorm-jpa 0.7.1 -- GORM-JPA Plugin then grails run-app and get this error as the server is coming up...   • How to record different authentication types (username / password vs token based) in audit log

    I have two types of users for my system, normal human users with a username / password, and delegation authorized accounts through OAuth (i.e. using a token identifier). The information that is stored for each is quite different, and are managed by different subsytems. They do however interact with the same tables / data within the system, so I need to maintain the audit trail regardless of whether human user, or token-based user modified the data. My solution at the moment is to have a table called something like AuditableIdentity, and then have the two types inheriting off that table (either in the single table, or as two seperate tables with 1 to 1 PK with AuditableIdentity. All operations would use the common AuditableIdentity PK for CreatedBy, ModifiedBy etc columns. There isn't any FK constraint on the audit columns, so any text can go in there, but I want an easy way to easily determine whether it was a human or system that made the change, and joining to the one AuditableIdentity table seems like a clean way to do that? Is there a best practice for this scenario? Is this an appropriate way of approaching the problem - or would you not bother with the common table and just rely on joins (to the two seperate un-related user / token tables) later to determine which user type matches which audit records?

  • Accessing MySQL server via VPN in python

    Hi I have a MySQL server that I need access through a VPN. I use MySQLdb package to access MySQL server in Python. When I can access the server without VPN, it works fine, but when I'm at certain locations, I need to connect through VPN. My computer is connected to the VPN and I can access the database through PHPMyAdmin, but MySQLdb gives me an error message: OperationalError: (2003, "Can't connect to MySQL server on 'MY_IP' (10061)") Any ideas on why it's not working? Thanks

  • Can't remove Enter_Frame and stop TimerEvent

    Suppose you're developing a software product that has periodic releases. What are the best practices with regard to branching and merging? Slicing off periodic release branches to the public (or whomever your customer is) and then continuing development on the trunk, or considering the trunk the stable version, tagging it as a release periodically, and doing your experimental work in branches. What do folks think is the trunk considered "gold" or considered a "sand box"?

    I'm setting up a new terminal server for our users on Win2008R2 (I guess I should call it Remote Desktop Services now!) When I try to change the location of "Documents" (by removing the default Documents library and adding a new one), to use the file server ie \\fileserver\username\Documents I get the message: "This network location can't be included because it is not indexed" I certainly don't want to make folders available offline, and in fact, I have set the GPO to prohibit offline folders on the terminal servers. What is the best practice for document libraries on terminal server and network file shares?

  • PHP class constant string variable spanning over multiple lines

    I want to have a string variable for a PHP class, which would be available to all methods. However, this variable is quite long, so I want to separate it into multiple lines. For example, $variable = "line 1" . "line 2" . "line 3"; But above doesn't work. I tried EOD, but EOD is not allowed within class. And when I declare it outside the class, I can't access the variable from within the class. What is the best way?
