  • FTP Server vsftpd change ftp:nogroup

    I'm running vsftpd using the Debian Lenny package. ftp:nogroup is the user/group that uploads files and owns uploaded files. However, a problem is arising - another process is also writing files to the FTP directory as myprocess:mygroup with restrictive file permissions, preventing vsftpd from overwriting the myprocess authored files. Is it possible to tell vsftpd to use a different user/group for uploading files? (preferably as myprocess:mygroup or ftp:mygroup)

  • Windows 7 will not install a root certificate

    I have a web service that uses a self-signed certificate, so I need to install the certificate as a Trusted Root so that I can avoid all the security errors that having a self-signed certificate brings with it. Using Windows 7, I'm going to: Start > Internet Explorer > Run as Administrator > Tools > Internet Options > Content > Certificates > Trusted Root Certification Authorities > Import > (select file) > Next > OK, and Windows reports Import Successful However, the import is NOT successful. The certificate does not show in the list of trusted roots, and certificate errors still show up. If I import the certificate into the Trusted Publishers container, it imports correctly, but this does not solve my security errors. Any ideas?

  • Run JavaScript code at ASP.NET page load

    I have a radiobox <asp:RadioButtonList CssClass="list" Style="width: 150px" ID="rdo_RSD_ExcerciseRoT" runat="server" Font-Bold="false" RepeatDirection="Horizontal" RepeatLayout="Table" TextAlign="Left" > <asp:ListItem Text="Yes" onclick="en();" Value="Y"></asp:ListItem> <asp:ListItem Text="No" onclick="dis();" Value="N" Selected="True"></asp:ListItem> </asp:RadioButtonList> AS you may see second listitem is selected by default. But issue is, when my page is getting load dis() is not getting called. I want to run dis() on page load too. I tried google, some blogs suggest the use of Page.RegisterStartupScript Method. But I dont exactly know what is the problem and why we should use this above mentioned method. I would appreciate if someone please tell me why this function is not getting called and how to call it.   • Android - Playing Mp4

    I am trying to play video files from http urls in my app. Why is that my app plays only certain mp4 files (I tried 512k mp4 and it worked), and doesn't play some others?     Hello, I have an Apache server running which hosts a php web application. Also, its provides provisions for downloading a file of size around 900MB from it. However, while testing the application I found out that its not possible to pause the downloads and resume them later on. Could someone help me? Is it an apache property I must change?

    I have two collections a and b. I would like to compute the set of items in either a or b, but not in both (a logical exclusive or). With LINQ, I can come up with this: IEnumerable<T> Delta<T>(IEnumerable<T> a, IEnumerable<T> b) { return a.Except (b).Union (b.Except (a)); } I wonder if there are other more efficient or more compact ways of producing the difference between the two collections.

    C# allows a reserved word to be used as a property name via the ampersand. e.g. // In ASP.NET MVC, we use @class to define // the css class attribute for some HtmlHelper methods. var htmlObject = new { readonly = "readonly", @class = "ui-state-highlight" } I want to do the same in JavaScript. e.g. function makeGrid(grid, pager) { grid.jqGrid({ caption: 'Configurations', colNames: ['Id', 'Name'], colModel: [ { name: 'Id', index: 'Id' }, { name: 'Name', index: 'Name', editable: true, editoptions: { readonly: 'readonly', class: 'FormElement readonly' } }, ], pager: pager, url: 'www.example.com/app/configurations") %>', editurl: 'www.example.com/app/configurations/edit") %>' }).navGrid(pager, { edit: true, add: false, del: false, search: false }, {}, {}, {}); } Note class: 'FormElement readonly' is supposed to set the css class value on jqGrid's edit dialog, but IE errors out on the reserved word.   • UserControl/TreeView Problem....Not getting result during runtime..

    Hi all, My problem is, I'm using a TreeView in a UserControl. While debugging, I can see the results are adding in the TreeView but it's not happening when I'm using that UserControl onto my MainForm. The UserControl containing the TreeView remains blank during runtime of the main application. I've also referenced the UserControl project with my Main project.   • ELMAH - Using custom error pages to collecting user feedback

    Hey guys I'm looking at using ELMAH for the first time but have a requirement that needs to be met that I'm not sure how to go about achieving... Basically, I am going to configure ELMAH to work under asp.net MVC and get it to log errors to the database when they occur. On top of this I be using customErrors to direct the user to a friendly message page when an error occurs. Fairly standard stuff... The requirement is that on this custom error page I have a form which enables to user to provide extra information if they wish. Now the problem arises due to the fact that at this point the error is already logged and I need to associate the loged error with the users feedback. Normally, if I was using my own custom implementation, after I log the error I would pass through the ID of the error to the custom error page so that an association can be made. But because of the way that ELMAH works, I don't think the same is quite possible. Hence I was wondering how people thought that one might go about doing this.... But the likely hood of that happening is remote. And this solution is independent of the session, which in our case is important, also some errors can cause sessions to be terminated, etc. Hence why this approach has worked nicely for us.

  • for a single-table inheritance in rails, how do I know the 'type' when creating a record?

    I have several models which are very similar: Contact_Emails, Contact_Letters, Contact_Calls -- and I think life could be easier making them into a Single Table Inheritance called Contact_Event. However, the way I have it set up now is when something is created for a Contact_Email, I have a dedicated controller that I call and know that I am passing the arguments that are approrpriate. For example, new_contact_email(contact, email). I then have: Emails.find(email.contact_id), etcera, all very specific to that Model. I'm not sure how I extract the class/models to use. For example, I currently have the following because I have separate controllers for each model: def do_event(contact, call_or_email_or_letter) model_name = call_or_email_or_letter.class.name.tableize.singularize link_to( "#{model_name.camelize}", send("new_contact_#{model_name}_path", :contact => contact, :status => 'done', :"#{model_name}" => call_or_email_or_letter ) ) end What I really want is to: link_to("#model_name.camelize}", send("new_contact_event_path(contact,call_or_email_or_letter)"
