  • Upload file via HTTP from VBA (WinHTTP)

    Hi all, I'm trying to HTTP upload a binary file programmatically from within VBA. I intend to put an ASPX page on the server. I know there are lots of nice ways to do that (e.g. use web service instead of aspx), but my constraint is that it must run in VBA (in an excel file), and that I cannot install any additional components on the client. So I guess I'll use WinHTTP, and I've found several examples to post form data, but not to post a binary file. I probably need to base64 the file contents? If so, please let me know. If I can make WinHTTP do file encoding for me, please let me know. If there is a much better way to reach my goal (Upload file from within VBA, server needn't necessarily be ASPX, could be a ASP.NET-Web service as well), please let me know... Thx, chiccodoro

  • softkeyboard in landscape mode does not pop up in android emulator

    In android emulator, I am in landscape mode and double click the text edit panel. the softkeyboard does not show up. However, it works in portrait mode. I have check some of posts on line. They said because of hardkeyboard is available in landscape mode. If that so, how can i disable the hardkeyboard. Or is there any setting reason for this problem?

  • Can iFrame Scrollbars be skinned in webkit?

    It's pretty well known by now that you can style scrollbars using the webkit specific CSS tags (::-webkit-scrollbar-button:start:decrement, ::-webkit-scrollbar-button:end:increment, etc. ). However, I've noticed that I cannot style the scrollbars attached to iFrames. Question: Is there a way to access and style the scrollbars on the iFrame using webkit? (Yes, I've actually got a particular scenario where I'd like to be able to do this.) Thanks much in advance for any help!

I am newbie to android development, and I have got assignment, of creating an android based shopping application something like bestbuy or ebay. so far the challenges I see in it are : 1) how to connect to SQL Server and get the data from there and show it on device. 2) how to do the ordering and other transactions kind of stuff. 3) really is it possible to make such application, as I am alone working on this assignment. looking forward for help from you guys and also any issues which might pop up while developing such application.     I'm using struts as a framework for a web-app. The following code runs inside a loop where I access the database to retrieve values to be used as nodes for a tree. <s:set name="categoryValue" value= "%{'<%=rs.getString("category")%>'}"> </s:set> <sx:treenode id="child1" label ="%{#categoryValue}"/> The error I get is "/jsp/tree.jsp(249,65) equal symbol expected" However if i give <s:set name="categoryValue" value= "%{'Test'}"> the value Test is obtained. Can anyone tell me how to set the value of the 'label' with strings?

    The title says it all, but let me explain: void Case_1() { var weakRef = new WeakReference(new object()); GC.Collect(); // <-- doesn't have to be an explicit call; just assume that // garbage collection would occur at this point. if (weakRef.IsAlive) ... } In this code example, I obviously have to plan for the possibility that the new'ed object is reclaimed by the garbage collector; therefore the if statement. (Note that I'm using weakRef for the sole purpose of checking if the new'ed object is still around.) void Case_2() { var unusedLocalVar = new object(); var weakRef = new WeakReference(unusedLocalVar); GC.Collect(); // <-- doesn't have to be an explicit call; just assume that // garbage collection would occur at this point. Debug.Assert(weakReferenceToUseless.IsAlive); } The main change in this code example from the previous one is that the new'ed object is strongly referenced by a local variable (unusedLocalVar). However, this variable is never used again after the weak reference (weakRef) has been created. Question: Is a conforming C# compiler allowed to optimize the first two lines of Case_2 into those of Case_1 if it sees that unusedLocalVar is only used in one place, namely as an argument to the WeakReference constructor? i.e. is there any possibility that the assertion in Case_2 could ever fail?

  • Blank space after file extension -> weird FileInfo behaviour

    Somehow a file has appeared in one of my directories, and it has space at the end of its extension - its name is "test.txt ". The weird thing is that Directory.GetFiles() returns me the path of this file, but I'm unable to retrieve file information with FileInfo class. The error manifests here: DirectoryInfo di = new DirectoryInfo("c:\\somedir"); FileInfo fi = di.GetFileSystemInfos("test*")[0] as FileInfo; //correctly fi.FullName is "c:\somedir\test.txt " //but fi.Exists==false (!) Is FileInfo class broken? Can I somehow retrieve information about this file? I really don't know how did that file appear on my file system, and I am unable to recreate some more of them. All of my attempts to create a new file with this type of extension have failed, but now my program is crashing when encoutering it. I can easily handle the exception when finding the file, but boy am I curious about this!

  • Best way to parse XMPP-like XML streams?

    I am working on a server application which receives data over a TCP socket in an XMPP-like XML format, i.e. every child of the <root> element essentially represents one separate request (stanza). The connection is closed as soon as </root> is received. I do know that I must use a stream parser like SAX, somehow. Though, for convenience, I'd prefer to have a tree-like interface to access each stanza's child elements. (The data sent with every request is not large so I think it makes sense to read each stanza as a whole.) What's the best way to realize that in Python (preferably v3)? This is the code I'd like to build it in.     My issue is that i have an annotation in Struts2 action class like private String[] origfilenofrom; @FieldExpressionValidator(fieldName="origfilenofrom",key="",message="File Length should be 12 for old file format and 15 for new file format",expression="checkorigFileFormat(origfilenofrom)") now my mehtod is public boolean checkorigFileFormat(String[] files ) { for(int counter=0;counter<files.length;counter++) { int n=files[counter].length(); if(!(n==12 || n==15)) { return false; } } return true; } So for any string in that string [], which is returning false the value is bei false. No matter 3 strings in that string [] are true if one is false then the annotaion message is displayed for all. I want the message not to display where the string is true. Help please

    I have a Ssrs report which sends the following text to the database : EXEC ( 'DECLARE @TeamIds as TeamIdTableType ' + @Teams + ' EXEC rpt.DWTypeOfSicknessByCategoryReport @TeamIds , ' + @DateFrom + ', ' + @DateTo + ', ' + @InputRankGroups + ', ' + @SubCategories ) When I view this in profiler it interprets this as : exec sp_executesql N'EXEC ( ''DECLARE @TeamIds as TeamIdTableType '' + @Teams + '' EXEC rpt.DWTypeOfSicknessByCategoryAndEmployeeDetailsReport @TeamIds, '' + @DateFrom + '', '' + @DateTo + '', '' + @InputRankGroups + '', '' + @SubCategories )',N'@Teams nvarchar(34),@DateFrom datetime,@DateTo datetime,@InputRankGroups varchar(1),@SubCategories bit',@Teams=N'INSERT INTO @TeamIds VALUES (5); ',@DateFrom='2010-02-01 00:00:00',@DateTo='2010-04-30 00:00:00',@InputRankGroups=N'1',@SubCategories=1 When this sql runs it errors, on the dates. I have tried changing the format of the date but it does not help. If I remove the dates it works fine. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Can't get SubSonic insert to work

    I'm trying to insert a record into a table without using the SubSonic object in a VB.Net Windows app. (It will take too long to explain why.) Dim q As New SubSonic.Query("tablename") q.QueryType = SubSonic.QueryType.Insert q.AddUpdateSetting("Description", txtDescription.Text) q.Execute() This just updates all the rows in the table. I read in one post that instead of AddUpdateSetting, I should use AddWhere, but that didn't make any sense to me. I don't need a where clause at all. Searching for all:QueryType.Insert at subsonicproject.com didn't return anything (which I thought was weird). Can anyone tell me how to fix this query? Thanks!
