    Hello! How do i get the actual max length of a specified column in php? For instance, this table: id - int(11) name - string(20) I want in php to select the maximum number of characters that a field can have, like SELECT length(name) from table1 and it should then return 20 (since its the maximum number of characters for that field).

ControlToValidate="recipientBankIDTextBox" ErrorMessage="*" /> As far is I know SWIFT code must contain 5 or 6 letters and other symbols up to total length 11 are alphanumeric.   • PubSubHubBub Hubs

    Hi, I'm currently building a live web application based upon the PubSubHubBub protocol. However, I encountered several issues. First, I'm in search of a hub application that I can run on my server. There are several applications, but most of them are not mature yet, or they don't support the 0.3 spec. The official google hub runs on the Google App Engine and can even be executed locally. Unfortunately, "Tasks will not run automatically. Push the 'Run' button to execute each task." This behaviour is useful for debugging and understanding the workflow, but in some live tests, it would be nice not to invoke all tasks manually. Is there a way to tweak the local app engine due automatically run tasks? Next, I have a question concerning the spec itself. The Google reference implementation provides the initial publish method bound to the outpoint uri + /publish. But this is not reflected in the specs. So are there any mature hubs that can be run locally for debugging? Or are there ways to configure the offical google app engine hub to run locally and to execute tasks directly? Thanks in advance

  • Comparison between Tigase, Openfire and any other open-source XMPP servers

    I've been looking at these too, both seem to provide fully functional XMPP servers in Java. I know Tigase is designed in a very modular way, not looked at Openfire in as much detail yet. My intended use would be to create a custom IM-based app, using XMPP for convenience rather than to open my server up to talk to other XMPP servers. I'm trying to evaluate my needs based on the following, roughly in order of importance: Documentation coverage & community How easy to plug in own functionality Licensing/cost - I don't plan to release my code Maturity and stability

  • Set up Gitosis, but can't clone

    I've set up Gitosis on a remote Ubuntu box which I will refer to as linuxserver as my host in the following commands. I'm also connecting from a Windows box using Cygwin. I followed the instructions according to: http://scie.nti.st/2007/11/14/hosting-git-repositories-the-easy-and-secure-way I had no problems up until I needed to clone the gitosis-admin repository to my local machine git clone git@linuxserver:gitosis-admin.git When I do this, the command executes, but hangs there displaying nothing until I ctrl-c to get back to a command prompt. No messages are displayed at all. I'm pretty sure I have my ssh keys set up properly, because logging in using "ssh linuxserver" into my regular account works perfectly without asking for a password. Edit: Over the weekend I set up a near identical Ubuntu box at home, and had no problem setting up Gitosis. The only difference was that I was connecting from OSX instead of Cygwin. Edit: I've also discovered that when using the Bash Shell provided with "Git Extensions", I have no problems, so the issue definitely seems to be some kind of Cygwin conflict. Edit: Just an update, but about a month after posting this question, I switched to Mercurial, and found that I prefer it much more than git. Thanks for the suggestions, but I don't plan on going back to git to try any of them out.

  • How can you prevent an individual window being captured by Print-Screen?

    I noticed a few times than when I print-screen while Media Player is running, the content is replaced with a grey rectangle. I've no idea if it's deliberate due to DRM, or some technical issue, but it struck me that being able to deliberately block screen-capture might be a useful feature in some scenarios. I am not looking to fix the problem, but replicate it! Is there some specific message each HWND gets for print-screen - does Windows do a special repaint or simply dump buffers to the clipboard? I guess I'd prefer to focus this on Win32 specifically, but as long as it's Windows-related then fine.

  • Mouse is rotated by 90 degrees

    My mouse has recently started a very strange behaviour in that left = up, right = down, up = right and down = left. i.e. it's like my mouse is rotated by 90 degrees. I have tried uninstalling the mouse, run spybot and still no joy. It's rather frustrating and I'm going loopy - literally.

  • Are there any CMS editors out there which users can populate locked down HTML templates with content

    Hi there, We work in email marketing, creating HTML/TEXT emails for clients. In essence we design HTML email templates for our clients. Clients then post us content (via a form) to populate these templates before we send them out. Right now we do this manually, basically cutting and pasting the content from their submitted form into the relevant parts of the template, which is time consuming and particularly mind-numbing. What we're looking for (and have so far been unable to find) is a simple system which will allow us to capture this client content in a sort of WYSIWYG HTML format. Basically they populate a locked down version of the template, entering text where necessary, before submitting to us. This is our most basic requirement, and a friend of mine kindly demo'd a proof of concept here: http://advantageone.co.uk/mbe/ Note: If you click on a text area in the body of the template, an editor pop ups. Now what we are looking for a CMS editor out there which can be easily adapted to do the above and the following for our end clients? User login View previously submitted campaigns that they have created and edit these Create new - selecting from template (assigned to their user/client id), perhaps being able to add new rows to the template. And have these HTML templates locked down so they can only edit what they're allowed too (like in the demo above), and perhaps make some areas required. Perhaps have a simple workflow or approval built in Allow us to lock submitted campaigns after a point so they can't be further edited, and as administrators view all campaigns from all users Be so incredibly simple, with any extraneous functionality switched off Essentially an extremley simple stripped down CMS, but we use the outputted HTML for sending out as an email, rather than publishing onto the web. Now to the actual dilemma: we're looking for something really simple, and the above sounds like a CMS. But we haven't been able to find anything that already does, or can be easily adapted to do this. Everything is either too complex, or simple and inflexible. We're sure there must be something off the shelf available, rather than us coding something ourselves. But we've kind of got stuck. Does anyone know of a system, or could recommend a system that can do the above out of the box, or with a few days tweaking?   • Why do we need the "event" keyword while defining events ?

    I don't understand why do we need the "event" keyword while defining events, when we can do the same thing without using "event" keyword, just by using the delegates. e.g. public delegate void CustomEventHandler(int a, string b); public event CustomEventHandler customEvent; customEvent += new CustomEventHandler(customEventHandler); customEvent(1,"a"); // Raising the event Here if I remove the "event" keyword from the second line, then also I can raise the event by invoking the delegate. Can anybody please tell me why is this event keyword needed ?

  • merge() multiple data frames (do.call ?)

    Hi everyone, here's my very simple question: merge() only takes two data frames as input. I need to merge a series of data frames from a list, using the same keys for every merge operation. Given a list named "test", I want to do something like: do.call("merge", test). I could write some kind of loop, but I'm wondering if there's a standard or built-in way to do this more efficiently. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!   • How to disable the third zoom button in webview of Android ?

    I want to disable the third button that creates a rectangle to zoom in other than +/- buttons in my WebView which uses builtin zoom controls. How can I do that ? I am able to do this for WebView without using built-in zoom controls by myWebview.getZoomControls().getTouchables().get(2).setVisibility(View.INVISIBLE); But how to do the same for built-in zoom controls ? Also I am extending the WebView class and overriding the onTouchEvent for tracking touch events inside my WebView as this is not possible by default, since zoom buttons consumes the touch event.

  • Move from *this in an rvalue method?

    In C++0x, methods can be overloaded on whether or not the expression that denotes the object on which the method is called is an lvalue or an rvalue. If I return *this from a method called via an rvalue, do I need to explicitly move from *this or not? Foo Foo::method() && { return std::move(*this); // Is this move required or not? } Unfortunately, I can't simply test this on my compiler since g++ does not support this feature yet :(

  • Really new to XCode. Why won't the thing run?

    Hi, I'm trying to follow the April 2009 and Winter 2010 Stanford iPhone app development videos and I'm running up against the same problems with both. First, they don't appear to be using the latest version of XCode - the Outlets and Actions panels are in a different window and there is little info on the net about this (other than one other post on S.O.F.) Second, having got to the point where I've managed to connect the slider, label and changedLabelText connections, I save, build and run the app - the simulator loads, the app loads and then promptly closes again. What's going on? I have not written any code yet and I still have an app which, while it compiles, does not behave! Is there a better starting point for an XCode noob than the Stanford vids?   • Help installing fedora13 from DvD?

    I have windows xp on my dell but I lost the drivers disk so I want to install linux Fedora 13 instead and wipe the windows xp. I burned the iso to a dvd and loaded up the live session user and used "Install to harddrive" but when I get to the partitioning window there is no harddrives to install to so I cant overwrite the windows drive (/C:).. Help?
