  • nice linux distro for vxl itona

    I'm trying to have some productivity with my VXL ITONA thin client. it is very minimalistic: 128 MB disk, 64 MB ram, with an Ezra via processor. out of the box it comes with GIO linux, I could run from a USB key puppy linux and damnsmalllinux (but I couldn't make them installed on the SSD drive). more customizable distros like arch-linux and slax fail to load due to kernel failure caused by lack of cmov instruction in the VIA processor. I really like to make it usable, can you please recommend me a nice distro? I'm afraid the Gentoo solution is too scary for me right now (compiling a linux kernel over a a thin client is too much) thanks!

  • Easiest linux distro creation

    Hello everyone! I have been trying to create my own customized distro of linux (preferably some kind of Debian system like Debian, Ubuntu, Knoppix, etc). I want to make it specifically for playing games. This is just a pet project for me and while I know linux pretty well (bash, gcc, g++, gdb, etc), I'm not that great with knowing the kernel. So that puts making my own distro from scratch out of the question. I went on to trying to create remasters of Knoppix and it worked for me but it was a very long process since knoppix is meant to be a live CD and I was running it in VirtualBox. So what is the easiest and fastest method of making your own distro? Also, can I install ubuntu or some kind of linux to a computer make changes to it, and then make a distro off of that installation? Please help me with this, Thanks

  • Trojan Horse Generic.15.apnz Virus Impossible to get rid of?!

    Hi Guys I'm new to this forum so I'm unsure whether this is the right place for a question like this. I have a Trojan Horse infection that lives in memory and seems to be impossible to get rid of. I've tried a vew AntiVirus products (Norton, Windows Essentials & AVG Free) all to no avail & I've recently tried a few bootable antivirus solutions I found here: http://www.techmixer.com/free-bootable-antivirus-rescue-cds-download-list/ Kaspersky Rescue Disk 2008 (failed - it wouldn't even load the UI, is there a newer one out there?) F Secure Rescue Disk (Updates & Scanner ran, found 10 infections, said it was going to delete or repair them, but didn't get rid of them) Avira found a load of infections but it froze when I tried to interact with the UI after the scan. Every time I run these I'll load Windows after & run AVG, and it still finds Trojan Horse Generic.15.apnz (in Services.exe) & Trojan Horse Generic.16.ARSU (in svchost.exe) Is anyone familiar with a virus like this? Can anyone suggest how to approach a solution? Thanks Dave

    In thread WatiN in Visual Studio 2008 - second test method fails (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/679347/watin-in-visual-studio-2008-second-test-method-fails) there is a good solution with IEStaticInstanceHelper (original answer Reusing an IE instance in VS test, sources [http://cid-7a759edaf62c1f79.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/WatiNExamples/Using%20watin%20with%20visual%20studio%20test.zip]), but when ClassCleanup fires it fails on AttachToIE. As result IEXPLORAR remain running. What is the problem? Of course it is possible to just kill the process like this: // Id of IEXPLORAR _ie.ProcessID Process.GetProcessById(_processId).Kill(); this._ie = null; But I don't really like this way... Any ideas?

    Hi, I have bit field declared this way: typedef struct morder { unsigned int targetRegister : 3; unsigned int targetMethodOfAddressing : 3; unsigned int originRegister : 3; unsigned int originMethodOfAddressing : 3; unsigned int oCode : 4; } bitset; I also have int array, and i want to get int value from this array, that represents the actual value of this bit field (which is actually some kind of machine word that i have the parts of it, and i want the int representation of the whole word).     I am experiencing a problem with the following code in some versions of Internet Explorer: #iconautente{ background-image:url('/style/images/spritecommon.png'); /*icona_utente.png*/ background-position:-117px -15px; text-indent:-9000px; width:20px; height:23px; display:inline-block; } <a id="iconautente" href="/admin/index.php">admin</a> In Firefox, IE7 and IE8 under Vista, I see background and no text, as expected. In IE6 and IE8 under XP, the whole image is indented, not text, so the image is not shown. What should be the right behavior? Is there a workaround?

    Hi... I´m using glassfishv3 for few days. But i don´t know how to get log4j working with the v3. In glassfishv2 there was a "System Classpath" field which you could used in order to point to your log4j.properties file. But in glassfishv3 "System Classpath" is not supported any more. So where i have to put the log4j.properties file on glassfishv3??? Thanks

    I have a content and i want to search a keyword in that content. Content When charting multiple data series, or just to improve the appearance of your charts, you can control the fill for each series in the chart or each item in a series. The fill lets you specify a pattern that defines how Flex draws the chart element. You also use fills to specify the background colors of the chart or bands of background colors defined by the grid lines. Fills can be solid or can use linear and radial gradients. A gradient specifies a gradual color transition in the fill color therefore. NOw, if the keyword we are searching is "When", it is the starting word so should display as "When charting multiple data ..........." If the keyword is "draws" , it lies in middle so should be displayed as ".... how Flex draws....." If the kewyword is "therefore", it is in the last position so should be displayed as ".........transition in the fill color therefore." Can anyone help me out how to do this in php server script?

    Hi, I have an issue when reading properties from a dependent project. I have a core project, and my application has a dependency on it. under classpath of core, it has file core.properties. and my application need to read this property file, but it couldn't. It requires the core.properties in my classpath of my application, instead of core. Is there an solution for that? One solution in my mind is that when I build my application.war, can I explictly declare that I want the core dependency be exploded? Thanks for help!

  • how to remove the starting spaces in aucomplete feature?

    hi I am providing the autocomplete feature to my website....but I am facing the problem that if the user is typing at the start there are spaces(without any key)... how to limit the starting spaces without typing any keyword.....after 3 or 4 spaces it gives the starting database table keywords ... I used trim also .. but no use for( a) these spaces create a problem... how can I remove the spaces... any idea.. thanks, Murali

    In Java, updating double and long variable may not be atomic, as double/long are being treated as two separate 32 bits variables. http://java.sun.com/docs/books/jls/second_edition/html/memory.doc.html#28733 In C++, if I am using 32 bit Intel Processor + Microsoft Visual C++ compiler, is updating double (8 byte) operation atomic? I cannot find much specification mention on this behavior. When I say "atomic variable", here is what I mean : Thread A trying to write 1 to variable x. Thread B trying to write 2 to variable x. We shall get value 1 or 2 out from variable x, but not an undefined value.

  • Can I stop SQL*Plus from displaying "connected" when I have a "connect" in a script?

    I have a few sql scripts that I need to run via SQL*Plus. These scripts connect several times as different users with a connect user_01/pass_01@db_01. Now, each time the script does such a connect, it confirms the successful connection with a connected. This is distracting and I want to turn it off. I can achieve what I want with a set termout off connect user_01/pass_01@db_01 set termout on Is there a more elegant solution to my problem? Note, it doesn't help to permanently set termout off at the start of the script since I need to know if a command didn't run successfully.

    Hi, This is a question about installing driver. I have the following files : aaa.cat aaa.inf x86\ttt.sys I can install this driver by clicking "update driver" in device manager. But now I need to install this driver on Windows (XP, Vista and Win7) by using C++. How could I do this? On the other hand, I can't use install shield or other tool to do the job. That is why I am asking this question. Thanks in advance. I have found this page, which mentioned SetupInstallFile and SetupInstallFileEx functions.     hi guys, i know implementing database is a huge topic, but i want to have a basic understanding of how database systems works (e.g. memory management, binary tree, transaction, sql parsing, multi-threading, partitions, etc) by investigating the source code of the database, since there are a few already proven very robust open source databases like mysql, sqlite and so on. however, the code are very complicated and i have no clue where to start. also i find that the old school database textbooks are only explaining the theory, not the implementation details. Can anyone suggest how should i get started and is there any books that emphasis on the technology and techniques of building dbms used in modern database industry? Thank in advance!
