  • What's the Benefit of Multiple Monitors

    It's become apparent to me that in Software Development it's not uncommon to have more than 1 monitor. We've been pushing for multiple monitors here (currently I have 1 19") but it's difficult to get the point across to the 'deciders' that there would be a benefit. They're only concerned with saving cents. So I thought I'd ask around and see what software developers with multiple monitors thought? What are the benefits? What are the costs? What is the ideal number of monitors for a software developer? Thanks

  • Issues with cross-domain uploading

    I'm using a django plugin called django-filebrowser which utilizes uploadify. The issue I'm having is that I'm hosting uploadify.swf on a remote static media server, whereas my admin area is on my django server. At first, the browse button wouldn't invoke my browser's upload. I fixed this by modifying the sameScriptAccess to always instead of sameDomain. Now the progress bar doesn't move at all, I probably have to enable some server setting for cross domain file uploading, or most likely actually host a separate upload script on my media server.   • sharp architecture question - no strongly typed views

    Hi, I am trying to get my head around the sharp architecture and used the visual studio template as described on the web: http://wiki.sharparchitecture.net/VSTemplatesAndCodeGen.ashx This is all cool. Unfortunately, I cannot add a strongly typed view as easily as I am used to ‘under’ asp.net mvc. What can I do to ‘enable’ this in VS 2008 Prof? I have also installed asp.net mvc 2.0 and would like to reflect this in my ‘vs studio sharp environment’. Any pointers would be very much appreciated. Many thanks in advance. Best wishes, Christian

  • Problem with dynamic create tabPages in Winforms TabControl

    I want to create dynamic tabPages in TabControl. In each tabPage I create dataGridView and i want to fill the entire space of each tabPage with this dataGrid.     How to find version of WIC Windows Imaging Component. Is it shipped with OS like XP, Vista, etc. I am using WPF application having TIFF image, which is having some issues ie the image is showing black with certain height; someone on the forum suggested that it might be the issue with WIC version 1. Can anybody please tell me how to find the Version of WIC. Is it a known bug with WIC ver 1 having issue with Large tiff files, if so then please provide me the Microsoft confirmation link for this Bug. Regards

    Dear All I am working on iMX51 project. I want to know what does GDI and hardware cursor means? The RTOS which i am using is WINCE 6.0 r3. We are actually looking to speed up the GDI and to implement the hardware cursor. So for that i want to know abt the GDI and the Hardware Cursor. I am also referring WC600_MX51_SDK_0912_ReferenceManual.pdf & MCIMX51RM.pdf and in these pdf i came to know that the hardware cursor is related to Display Processor module . But still i am unclear, what exactly does speed up of GDI means & Hardware cursor means? Please guide me the correct step to how to achieve my target....

    Hi, I have a Tableview on AppDelegate That calls a SecondView (dvController) when DidSelectRowAtIndexPath using: [self.window addSubview:[dvController view]]; On SecondView I defined a button linked to IBAction that should go back to previous view. It works great but when row selected but, How could then go back to previous view if main one is AppDelegate? self.window addSubview:[?? view]]; Should be basic concept but I am quite new and unable to get the solution.   • how to calculate a bill from several tables on mysql?

    I'm using mysql to create an hotel booking system, but i am struggling a little bit to calculate the final bill. I need a SELECT command to get data from several tables and make some calculations. Basically I just need to get the 'night cost' from a table called 'room_types'. Then, use DATEDIFF function to get the difference of days between the 'checkin' and 'checkout' columns in the table 'room_booking' and multiply the difference with the night cost and display the total. These are the tables I would be using: are room_booking, room_types, booking, and room. One booking may have several room bookings, so Im looking for a table that looks something like this: +------------+------------+---------------+------------------+ | bookingid | Room price | nights stayed | total room price | +------------+------------+---------------+------------------+ | B001 | 30.00 | 4 | 120.00 | +------------+------------+---------------+------------------+ | B001 | 40.00 | 3 | 120.00 | +------------+------------+---------------+------------------+ booking id comes from table 'booking' room price from 'room_types', 'nights stayed' is calculated from the table room_booking, using the datediff command between checkin and checkout . How do ListViewItems have to be initialised that ListView.ItemCollection.Contains() (not ListView.ItemCollection.ContainsKey()) is able to identify them?

  • Oracle JDBC intermittent Connection Issue

    Language: PHP I have a form which asks users for their educational details, course details and technical details. When the form is submitted the page goes to a different page to run processes on the information and save parts to a database. HOWEVER(!) I then need to return the page back to the original page, where having access to the original post information is needed. I thought it would be simple to copy (by value) the multi-dimensional (md) $_POST array to $_SESSION['post'] session_start(); $_SESSION['post'] = $_POST; However this only appears to place the top level of the array into $_SESSION['post'] not doing anything with the children/sub-arrays. An abbreviated form of the md $_POST array is as follows: Array ( [formid] = 2 [edu] = Array ( ['id'] = Array ( [1] = new_1 [2] = new_2 ) ['nameOfInstitution'] = Array ( [1] = 1 [2] = 2 ) ['qualification'] = Array ( [1] = blah [2] = blah ) ['grade'] = Array ( [1] = blah [2] = blah ) ) [vID] = 61 [Submit] = Save and Continue ) If I echo $_SESSION['post']['formid'] it writes "2", and if I echo $_SESSION['post']['edu'] it returns "Array". If I check that edu is an array (is_array($_SESSION['post']['edu])) it returns true. If I echo $_SESSION['post']['edu']['id'] it returns array, but when checked (is_array($_SESSION['post']['edu]['id'])) it returns false and I cannot echo out any of the elements. How do I successfully copy (by value, not by reference) the whole array (including its children) to an new array?

  • WebBrowser.InnerHtml strange behavior

    I'm trying to load page and then remove some elements in it. While doing that I encountered strange behavior. When I do webBrowser1.Document.Body.InnerHtml = webBrowser1.Document.Body.InnerHtml; It turns off some JavaScript code, for example for Google.com it turns off auto completion. Why is that? I suppose it has something to do with JavaScript initialization, if so how can I reinitialize the page?

But, when I minimize the app using "arrow" button on device and then press and hold home button and clicks on my app icon the application starts and performs the same last action which have been performed by clicking the last notification. I figured out that when we click the app icon the application starts with last intent triggered by the notification. Can anyone help in this?

  • Avoid painting over nested controls

    I am writing a toolbar-style control and use the ThemeServices unit to paint the background required by the toolbar. Like so: ThemeServices.DrawElement(Canvas.Handle, ThemeServices.GetElementDetails(trRebarRoot), ARect); I then drop child controls onto the toolbar and voila - instant toolbar. Except that every now and again I notice that the nested (child) controls don't repaint as well. So my control paints its background and the child controls disappear until you move the mouse over them. Some of the edit controls show their client area (no border) and some of them are just gone altogether. This happens mostly when I place a window from another application over the toolbar and move it away. I keep thinking this has to be very easy to cure, that perhaps I'm somehow preventing the paint message from reaching the child controls, or missing an override but I have been unable to figure it out.

    When i use this code <!--[if IE 6]> <link rel="stylesheet" href="ie6.css" type="text/css" /> <![endif]--> <!--[if !IE]> <link rel="stylesheet" href="not_ie.css" type="text/css" /> <![endif]--> IE 6 does correctly use the specified stylesheet but all other browsers ignore both when they should be using the one that basically states, use this stylesheet if you are not IE. Any ideas?
