For some reason, http://www.glacialsummit.com serves pages from the /srv/www/glacialsummit.com/ directory, but http://glacialsummit.com serves pages from the /var/www/ directory.   • Perl Regex Mismatch Issue

    This is a really basic regex question but since I can't seem to figure out why the match is failing in certain circumstances I figured I'd post it to see if anyone else can point out what I'm missing. I'm trying to pull out the 2 sets of digits from strings of the form: 12309123098_102938120938120938 1321312_103810312032123 123123123_10983094854905490 38293827_1293120938129308 I'm using the following code to process each string: if($string && $string =~ /^(\d)+_(\d)+$/) { if(IsInteger($1) && IsInteger($2)) { print "success ('$1','$2')"; } else { print "fail"; } } Where the IsInterger() function is as follows: sub IsInteger { my $integer = shift; if($integer && $integer =~ /^\d+$/) { return 1; } return; } This function seems to work most of the time but fails on the following for some reason: 1287123437_1268098784380 1287123437_1267589971660 Any ideas on why these fail while others succeed?   • Why won't jqGrid populate initially in Chrome

    Hi, I've got a web page with a jqGrid that uses am xmlreader to populate itself with data that is spat out by a RoR service. The page loads fine in firefox and safari. In Chrome however I get a blank grid.   • Possible to skip track from an Android application?

    Hi, I installed Sphinx and Thinking Sphinx for ruby on rails 2.3.2. When I search without conditions search works ok. Now, what I'd like to do is filter by tags, so, as I'm using the acts_as_taggable_on plugin, my Announcement model looks like this: class Announcement < ActiveRecord::Base acts_as_taggable_on :tags,:category define_index do indexes title, :as => :title, :sortable => true indexes description, :as => :description, :sortable => true indexes tags.name, :as => :tags indexes category.name, :as => :category has category(:id), :as => :category_ids has tags(:id), :as => :tag_ids end For some reason, when I run the following command, it will bring just one announcement, that has nothing to do with what I expect. I've got many announcements, so I expected a lot of results instead.   • PayPal IPN Response

    I am having a problem with PayPal IPN response. After payment is made by the customer, PayPal IPN returns this URL: www.mywebsite.com?orderid=32&tx=2AC67201DL3533325&st=Pending&amt=2.50&cc=USD&cm=&item_number=32 There are a couple of issues Post-back field names are undefined or missing. Thus I can get the INVALID message. I am not sure if my website does not read POST variables. When I looked at IPN history, it shows that each IPN has been sent with the complete url. Payment status keeps coming Pending. Does this issue cause the first issue? Thank you for your responses in advance.   • IE8 + Jquery ajax call giving parsererror : for json data which seems valid in Firefox

    The ajax call works fine in FF. the data returned is in JSON here is an example from FF firebug - {"noProfiles": "No profiles have been created, lets start now !"} When I try to print the error in IE8 (& in compatibility modes as well), it says "parsererror". But the output seems to be valid JSON. Here is the ajax function call I'm making.   • A Question about .net Rfc2898DeriveBytes class?

    What is the difference in this class? as posed to just using Encoding.ASCII.GetBytes(string object); I have had relative success with either approach, the former is a more long winded approach where as the latter is simple and to the point. Both seem to allow you to do the same thing eventually but I am struggling to the see the point in using the former over the latter. The basic concept I have been able to grasp is that you can convert string passwords into byte arrays to be used for e.g a symmetric encryption class, AesManaged. Via the RFC class but you get to use SaltValues and password when creating your rfc object. I assume its more secure but still thats an uneducated guess at best ! Also that it allows you to return byte arrays of a certain size, well something like that. heres a few examples to show you where I am coming from? byte[] myPassinBytes = Encoding.ASCII.GetBytes("some password"); or string password = "P@%5w0r]>"; byte[] saltArray = Encoding.ASCII.GetBytes("this is my salt"); Rfc2898DeriveBytes rfcKey = new Rfc2898DeriveBytes(password, saltArray); The 'rfcKey' object can now be used towards setting up the the .Key or .IV properties on a Symmetric Encryption Algorithm class. ie. RijndaelManaged rj = new RijndaelManaged (); rj.Key = rfcKey.Getbytes(rj.KeySize / 8); rj.IV = rfcKey.Getbytes(rj.Blocksize / 8); 'rj' should be ready to go ! The confusing part ... so rather than using the 'rfcKey' object can I not just use my 'myPassInBytes' array to help set-up my 'rj' object???? I have tried doing this in VS2008 and the immediate answer is NO ! but have you guys got a better educated answer as to why the RFC class is used over the other alternative I have mentioned above and why????

  • How do I diagnose a failure in the Membership service on an ASP.NET remote site?

    Yesterday I added a custom MembershipProvider to an ASP.NET web application, but when I deployed the application to its remote host server, it failed. I know I had the login info correct, and I also know that for nearly any exception in the login process, the Login control displays the standard error message, "Your login failed", so I assume something is wrong in the code/config. What can I do to diagnose what is wrong on the server?

  • Detecting wether a point is inside or outside of a raphael.js shape

    I have a raphael.js shape which I am plotting circle's on top of. I only want a circle to appear if the circle does not go off the boundary of the shape it is being plotted on to. To make this more clear, here is an example of what I do not want to happen: I want the circles outside of the grey area not to appear. How would I detect wether a circle is inside or outside of the grey shape?

  • hosting website on a private network

    i'm currently running a website off 3 linux servers. I'd like to setup a private network and only allow port 80 traffic to one of the servers. I'd also like to setup a vpn so only I can access the servers via ssh or any port for developing/debugging. How hard is this to setup and what do I need to get? Do enterprise/commercial routers have vpn functionality built in? how do I handle DNS? eg- www.mydomain.com would need to point to the router, which forwards traffic to the webserver. Do I set the A record to the router, and somehow tell the router which server to send the http request to? And how would I make server1.mydomain.com resolve to server1 within the private network (without editing host files)? Would I need to run my own DNS (eg- powerdns?) to do this?

    In many environments the file system directory structure and naming conventions attempt to allow one to use a file manager to navigate the life cycle of a document. This overloading of functions makes it difficult for users to handle the complexity. A file browser is a tool that lets the user navigate among files located in a directory structure to find a specific file. Whereas, when given a specific file, a life cycle navigator is a tool that lets the user navigate its life cycle from source to published copy and across versions. Does a Life Cycle Navigator exit? I see a user pointing at an object: Left mouse button displays the document Right mouse button has a Life Cycle Navigator (LCN) The LCN displays a tree for a specific document within a file manger, for example: Published 3.2 Current 3.1 3.0 +2.x +1.x +Archived +All Source Draft 3.2 Current 3.1 3.0 +2.x +1.x +Archived +All +Work Flow +Properties Or from a command line: $ lcn x.pdf --open_source_document | my_favorite_editor $ lcn x.pdf --show_published_version_info $ lcn x.pdf --show_previous_publish_versions_info See also, Life Cycle Navigator.

  • How does the caller ID works on voip?

    Maybe this depends on the protocol, if so, I'm wondering mostly about SIP. That's all, just focus on the title please, but for a little background... I am using voipraider and I was just trying to set it up to have a caller id as my phone number, since I can't have this voip of mine on all the time (thus using DID or being able to receive calls through voip wouldn't be a solution here). I could actually make it work, but only using voipraider software. From other places, the caller ID doesn't show properly. So, I am wondering how it actually works to be able to go and look for a fix for this. I want details about the protocol, if that's relevant.

  • Set up a proxy on a remote Linux server?

    In order to watch Hulu and other sites which are not available in my region (Canada). I would like to set up my own proxy server in the USA on a Linode for my Macbook running Mac OS X. On my Macbook, I would like to set up the proxy server in the OS, instead of the browser so all apps use it. I believe Mac OS X supports HTTP and SOCKS proxies. What type of proxy should I use, and what server software should I use on the Linux machine?
