  • merging 3 source versioned trees into 1

    This is probably an easy question... I have 4 source versions of the same software in 4 different directories. I have just started using git for version control. To date, I have just been snapping a desperate copy rolling forward. I want to merge all versions (1.0.0.1, 1.0.0.2, 1.0.0.3, 1.0.1.0) together so that I will have a reference history. Opposed to just starting out with 1.0.1.0 as the initial version. I want to get this sort of thing right form the start. Can someone outline the basic steps to accomplish this? Thanks much, XO

  • Android quotes within an sql query string

    I want to perform a query like the following: uvalue = EditText( some user value ); p_query = "select * from mytable where name_field = '" + uvalue + "'" ; mDb.rawQuery( p_query, null ); if the user enters a single quote in their input it crashes. If you change it to: p_query = "select * from mytable where name_field = \"" + uvalue + "\"" ; it crashes if the user enters a double quote in their input. and of course they could always enter both single and double quotes.

  • wpf DependencyProperty Not accepting default value for short

    Hi, I was trying to use tis depencency property in my code but it gives me error says that Default value type does not match type of property 'MyProperty'.But short should accept 0 as default value.Ans also if i try to give null as default value it works..even if its a non nullabel type.How come this happens.. public short MyProperty { get { return (short)GetValue(MyPropertyProperty); } set { SetValue(MyPropertyProperty, value); } } // Using a DependencyProperty as the backing store for MyProperty.   • Change Call Screen

    I need to change or customize the call screen when initiating a call on Android. After searching on google I do not find any way to do it. There is no way to send DTMF tones during a call, the idea is to send a specific number to the call screen. So when a call is made is possible to see the number to dial during a call to the PBX. I tried to putting the number in the "status bar", but the notification hide after seconds and it is not practical. I appreciate any other suggestion. Thanks

  • Approaches to a week long camp programming course (tips & projects)

    I will be teaching a week long programming course to kids between the ages of 11-18. Most of the kids have no programming experience. I'm looking for two things 1) General tips for teaching a camp class (how to make it fun when explaining the difference between int and float) 2) Interesting projects that the kids will be able to complete by the end of the week. Unfortunately the language I'll be required to use is either c++ or Java which means that I'll need to spend more time on itty bitty details than I'd like in a week long course. I feel more competent in c++ than in Java. However if someone can show me that Java is much easier to learn I'll probably teach that instead. My initial idea is to try something like "a game a day" with games like hangman, tic-tac-toe, guess-a-number, wheel-of-fortune, etc. I'll try and update the question text as answers come in to offer more details While there are other questions about teaching programming around I'm looking for advice and tasks that are useful for specifically a week long camp

  • Calling javascript class within other Js

    I have Aptana plugin in eclipse, I have a javascript (one.js) and i have included one more Javscript(two.js) within one.js. I click on any functions within one.js and if those functions exists in the same one.js, the control is going to the respective function. Suppose if the function exists in two.js, the control is not going to two.js Can any one help me with this?

  • Exchange MSExchangeIS Mailbox Store Error

    Boss asked me to check to see if I could figure out why he's had to restart the services on the Exchange server three mornings in a row now. While going through the system logs I ran across an error from the MSExchangeIs Mailbox Store, category General, Event 9690. The message said (edited to make generalized): Exchange store 'First Storage Group\Mailbox Store (Servername)': The logical size of this database (the logical size equals the physical size of the .edb file and the .stm file minus the logical free space in each) is 22GB. This database size has exceeded the size limit of 22 GB. This database will be dismounted immediately. Hmm...happened at five in the morning, and I'm thinking this is a pretty good hint that this leads to the culprit. Thing is I'm not an Exchange expert, so I'm still googling around to figure out how to fix the problem. Any better guidance out there? Or am I barking up the wrong binary tree? Exchange System Manager reports that the server is "version 6.5 build 7638.2, SP2", standard, which I believe is Exchange 2003. It's running on Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard, SP2.

  • Mac OS X Terminal not logging in

    I am running Mac OS X version 10.6.3 and when I open the terminal (with terminal.app or iterm) it just hangs on the login process. I've tried restarting, changing the startup command to /bin/bash, and deleting the terminal preference file. All to no avail.

  • R: ca plotting text attributes

    Does anyone know of a way to control the font size/color/weight of the row and column names when plotting a correspondence plot with the ca package? The following code will produce a very nice looking chart, though if there were more attributes (very heavy, super heavy, something more than super heavy) or more classes of workers (peons, underlings, etc) then the graph will get a little cluttered and hard to tell what was what. It would be nice if you could list all the attributes in a separate color than the categories of workers. library(ca) data("smoke") plot(ca(smoke) , map = "symmetric" , what =c("active","active") , mass = c(T,T) , contrib = "absolute" , col = c("red","blue") , pch = c(15,17,15,17) , labels = c(2,2) , arrows = c(T,F) ) Alternatively, does anyone know if there is a way to reproduce something along these lines with ggplot2?   • user table with javaDB and Hibernate from within grails

    let's see if I can ask this in an understandable way... I started with grails and created a domain class called user. As far as I understand, Hibernate is used to map this domain class to the database. This works pretty fine with hsqldb. Now I tried to switch to javaDB and get an error message because the table is called "user" (which seems to be a reserved word for javaDB). So a statement like create table user ... will result in an error message. create table "user" ... works, but Hibernate seems not put put the table name in quotes. How can I configure Hibernate to use quotes in order to make it work with my table name? PS: yes, I know, I could map the domain class to another table name... :-)

  • Where is the Android Metamodel located?

    Hey, I would like to use Android for Model-Driven-Software-Development. For this, I need to locate the Android Model in the SDK. I already searched a while for it, but were not able to find it. Has anyone an idea where it could be? Is it possible, that it is the AndroidManifest.xml-File in the folder android-sdk-\platforms\android-x\android.jar? After unpacking this file, I am not able to open that file correctly on Windows XP, because a lot of characters have the wrong character set. Or is it also possible, that it is only located in the source code? Thanks in advance, Dominik

  • Help Fix a bug - Unexpected T_STRING

    So I have just rebuilt my server, just on local network. Stick my site back on it, try to run the code, and I get a anice T_STRING error. This is all very strange, as I have not changed the code :S <?php $window_ID = -1; if(isset($_POST["window_ID"]) AND $_POST["window_ID"] != null){ $window_ID = trim($_POST["window_ID"]); } ?> This is the start of the file, apter this rather loverly snipit of PHP the rest is just XMl, yet on line 6 appertnlty there is an unexpected T_STRING, which is strange considering all that is on that line is the ?>, then the XML starts up... Any one got any ideas what has gone wrong here? Any chance it ould be magic quotes? I had turned it of before, but I want to now update my code to check for the magic quotes and avoid its stupid actions.

    Let's say that we have a 5000 users in database. User row has sex column, place where he/she was born column and status (married or not married) column. How to generate a random subset (let's say 100 users) that would satisfy these conditions: 40% should be males and 60% - females 50% should be born in USA, 20% born in UK, 20% born in Canada, 10% in Australia 70% should be married and 30% not. These conditions are independent, that is we cannot do like this: (0.4 * 0.5 * 0.7) * 100 = 14 users that are males, born in USA and married (0.4 * 0.5 * 0.3) * 100 = 6 users that are males, born in USA and not married. Is there an algorithm to this generation?

  • Cookie is setting twice (dublicated)

    I'm new to cookies, and im trying to set a cookie where to store the referer (the org ref). But when i try this function: function do_it_cookie() { // Check if cookie exists if (isset($_COOKIE['ref'])) { // It dose exist, do nothing or anything... } else { setcookie ('ref', $_SERVER['HTTP_REFERER'], time() + 60, '/'); header ("Location: http://www.nyttforetag.com/mind-your-own-business/"); } } I want to store the cookie on the user computer for 30 days, if the return i want to know the initial refereeing url. But when i use this and lets say i go to another page in my site and then go back to the homepage its sets a new cookie with the exact same name and with the ref of the previous page. Is there away to avoid this?

I would appreciate if one could give me the PLAIN QUERY along with PHP code to embed it too.

    I have a problem with flash content in IE7 being always over the menu items I have a structure like the following: <div id='skyscraper_flash'> <!--this id skyscraper_flash is position absolute--> <object> <!--this is wmode transparent--> </object> </div> <div id='menu'> <!--this id menu is also position absolute--> <ul> <li>foo</li> <li>bar</li> </ul> </div> Now then the last item of the menu opens it shows behind the flash content. The skyscraper is on the right of the page content. What should i look into?

    Hi, if i filter an array with array_filter to eliminate null values, keys are preserved and this generated "holes" in the array. Eg: The filtered version of [0] => 'foo' [1] => null [2] => 'bar' is [0] => 'foo' [2] => 'bar' How can i get, instead [0] => 'foo' [1] => 'bar' ? Thanks
