  • WPF Separator position

    - by morsanu
Hey, I'm using a Separator to draw a vertical line inside a Border. At first this was ok because the line needed to be centered, but now I need to position it at a custom x-position from the left border. Is there a way to do that? <Border x:Name="border" ClipToBounds="True" Background="White" BorderBrush="Black" BorderThickness="2"> <Separator BorderBrush="Black" BorderThickness="2"> <Separator.LayoutTransform> <RotateTransform Angle="90" /> </Separator.LayoutTransform> </Separator> </Border>

  • database setup for web application

    - by vbNewbie
I have an application that requires a database and I have already setup tables but not sure if they match the requirements of the app. The app is a crawler which fetches web urls, crawls and stores appropriate urls and posts and all this is based on client requests which are stored as projects. So for each url stored there is one post and for client there are many projects and for each project there are many types of requests. So we get a client with a request and assign them a project name and then use the request to search for content and store the url and post. A request could already exist and should not be duplicated but should be associated with the right client and project and post etc. Here is my schema now: url table: urlId PK queryId FK url post table: postId PK urlId FK post date request table: queryId PK request client table: clientId PK client Name projectId FK project table: projectID PK queryID FK project Does this look right? or does anyone have suggestions. Of course my stored procedures and insert statements will have to be in depth.

  • Remapping Linux serial port device names

    - by davefiddes
I have a server running Debian Linux which has a built in serial port which is coming up as ttyS0. I have a plug in PCI card with two serial ports that are being registered with Linux as ttyS2 and ttyS3. Unfortunately I am trying to run some software which assumes that ttyS0 and ttyS1 are available. Is it possible to remap the serial port device names (using a udev rule?) such that ttyS0 remains as it is and ttyS2 becomes ttyS1?

  • Add Bookmark to IE automatically for new users on a computer

    - by Kyle Brandt
When I set up a PC, I would like to be able to have it so when anyone logs into that PC from the domain a couple of IT bookmarks will be in IE. I read I can do this with a Domain-Level group policy, but unfortunately, with my current domain group policies have not gone well, so I have fear (Rather not get into this in this question). Can I do this at the PC level when I deploy a new computer? So any domain users who log into the PC will have these bookmarks added when their profile is created (no roaming profiles). These are XP machines, and the domain is run by 2003 controllers.

  • Can't reconnect to my RDP session

    - by Jeremy Stein
I use a VM through RDP. When I'm done for the day, I just disconnect the session and reconnect in the morning. That allows me to pick up what I was doing and not close all the applications. As I'm the only user, this generally works well. Today, I can't reconnect to my session from yesterday. When I RDP, I get a new session. When I run query user, I can see my other session: USERNAME SESSIONNAME ID STATE IDLE TIME LOGON TIME me rdp-tcp#82 1 Active 15:00 4/22/2010 9:00 AM me rdp-tcp#91 2 Active . 4/30/2010 9:00 AM If I try to use Terminal Services Manager to remote control the other session, I get this error: Session (ID 1) remote control failed (Error 7044 - The request to control another session remotely was denied. ) Is there any way to reconnect to this session, or do I need to just kill it?

  • Basic Python: Exception raising and local variable scope / binding

    - by SuperJdynamite
I have a basic "best practices" Python question. I see that there are already StackOverflow answers tangentially related to this question but they're mired in complicated examples or involve multiple factors. Given this code: #!/usr/bin/python def test_function(): try: a = str(5) raise b = str(6) except: print b test_function() what is the best way to avoid the inevitable "UnboundLocalError: local variable 'b' referenced before assignment" that I'm going to get in the exception handler? Does python have an elegant way to handle this? If not, what about an inelegant way? In a complicated function I'd prefer to avoid testing the existence of every local variable before I, for example, printed debug information about them.

  • Inherit from Type class of .Net

    - by Miguel Angelo
Is there any point at all on inheriting from Type class in .Net? i.e. What could be the meaning of doing so? I am asking this because of this text in MSDN documentation: Notes to Inheritors When you inherit from Type, you must override the following members... list of members. MSDN doc for Type: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.type.aspx ok, that is actually saying that anyone can inherit from Type... but they dont say why would you ever want to do that. Thanks!

  • How to set incremental CSS classes in each Table Cell with jQuery?

    - by Mark Rapp
    I have a table populated via a DB and it renders like so (it could have any number of columns referring to "time", 5 columns, 8 columns, 2 columns, etc): <table id="eventInfo"> <tr> <td class="name">John</td> <td class="date">Dec 20</td> <td class="**time**">2pm</td> <td class="**time**">3pm</td> <td class="**time**">4pm</td> <td class="event">Birthday</td> </tr> <tr> <td class="name">Billy</td> <td class="date">Dec 19</td> <td class="**time**">6pm</td> <td class="**time**">7pm</td> <td class="**time**">8pm</td> <td class="event">Birthday</td> </tr> With jQuery, I'd like to go through each Table Row and incrementally set an additional class-name on only the Table Cells where "class='time'" so that the result would be: John Dec 20 2pm 3pm 4pm Birthday Billy Dec 19 6pm 7pm 8pm Birthday I've only been able to get it to count all of the Table Cells where "class='time'" and not each set within its own Table Row. This is what I've tried with jQuery: $(document).ready(function() { $("table#eventInfo tr").each(function() { var tcount = 0; $("td.time").attr("class", function() { return "timenum-" + tcount++; }) //writes out the results in each TD .each(function() { $("span", this).html("(class = '<b>" + this.className + "</b>')"); }); }); }); Unfortunately, this only results in: <table id="eventInfo"> <tr> <td class="name">John</td> <td class="date">Dec 20</td> <td class="**time** **timenum-1**">2pm</td> <td class="**time** **timenum-2**">3pm</td> <td class="**time** **timenum-3**">4pm</td> <td class="event">Birthday</td> </tr> <tr> <td class="name">Billy</td> <td class="date">Dec 19</td> <td class="**time** **timenum-4**">6pm</td> <td class="**time** **timenum-5**">7pm</td> <td class="**time** **timenum-6**">8pm</td> <td class="event">Birthday</td> </tr> Thanks for your help!

  • What is on the 68000 stack when classic MacOS enters a program?

    - by John Källén
I'm trying to understand an old classic Mac application's entry point. I've disassembled the first CODE resource (not CODE#0, which is the jump table). The code refers to some variables off the stack: a word at 0004(A7), an array of long words of starting at 000C(A7) whose length is the value at 0004(A7), and a final long word beyond that array that seems to be a pointer to a character string. The array of long words looks like strings at first glance, so it looks superficially like we're dealing with an (int argc, char ** argv) situation, except the "argv" array is inline in the stack frame. What should a program be expecting on its stack / registers when it first gets called by the Mac OS?

  • C# listbox,params

    - by Oyeme
As Andrew Hare suggested in his answer: Create a field to store all the ListBox instances and then change the constructor to accept an arbitrary number of them: by I tried the following class scaner { readonly IEnumerable<ListBox> listBoxes; public IEnumerable<ListBox> ListBoxes { get { return this.listBoxes; } } public scaner(params ListBox[] listBoxes) { this.listBoxes = listBoxes; } } This will allow you to do this: scaner Comp = new scaner(listBox1, listBox2); How can i access listbox1? In class scaner i'm trying to call this.listBoxes. (I need to call the listbox1 in scaner class. How can i do/call it? Thanks for answers.

  • C# Dictionary Performance

    - by derek
I am using a Dictionary to store data, and will be caching it. I would like to avoid server memory issues, and have good performance by limiting the size of the Dictionary<, either in size or number of entries. What is the best method of doing this? Is there another class I should be considering other than a Dictionary?

  • Appending html data when item in html select list is selected

    - by Workoholic
I have a selector that could look like this: <label for="testselector">Test</label><br /> <select id="testselector" name="test[]" size="5" multiple="multiple"> <option name="test_1" value="1">Test Entry X</option> <option name="test_3" value="2">Test Entry Y</option> <option name="test_5" value="5">Test Entry Z</option> </select> <div id="fieldcontainer"></div> When an entry from the above fields is selected, I want two form fields to appear. I use jquery to add them: $("#fieldcontainer").append("<div><label for=\"testurl\">Test Url</label><br /><input name=\"testurl[]\" type=\"text\" id=\"testurl_1\" value=\"\" /></div>"); $("#fieldcontainer").append("<div><label for=\"testpath\">Test Path</label><br /><input name=\"testpath[]\" type=\"text\" id=\"testpath_1\" value=\"\" /></div>"); I can easily add a click handler to make those form fields appear. But how would I keep track of what form fields were already added? When multiple fields are selected, the appropriate number of input fields needs to be added to the fieldcontainer div. And if they are unselected, the input fields need to be removed again. I also need to retrieve the value from the options in the select list to add them as identifier in the added input fields...

  • Current .NET technology stack for a new project? [closed]

    - by jkohlhepp
If you are going to start a new .NET project, what technologies do you use on top of the base framework? I'm thinking things like ORMs (NHibernate, EF), logging frameworks (Log4Net), IoC containers, rules engines, UI frameworks (Telerik), etc. Are there certain technologies that you always bring in regardless of project type / complexity? Are there certain others that you bring in sometimes when complexity warrants it? This seems like a moving target, and I'm curious what people are using as their "basic setup" nowadays.

  • jQuery ajax form submit - how to ensure dynamically loaded form's action is used

    - by kenny99
    Hi, i'm having a problem with dynamically loaded forms - instead of using the action attribute of the newly loaded form, my jquery code is still using the action attribute of the first form loaded. I have the following code: //generic ajax form handler - calls next page load on success $('input.next:not(#eligibility)').live("click", function(){ $(".form_container form").validationEngine({ ajaxSubmit: true, ajaxSubmitFile: $(this).attr('action'), success : function() { var url = $('input.next').attr('rel'); ajaxFormStage(url); }, failure : function() { } }); }); But when the next form is loaded, the above code does not pick up the new action attribute. I have tried adding the above code to my callback on successful ajax load (shown below), but this doesn't make any difference. Can anyone help? Many thanks function ajaxFormStage(url) { var $data = $('#main_body #content'); $.validationEngine.closePrompt('body'); //close any validation messages $data.fadeOut('fast', function(){ $data.load(url, function(){ $data.animate({ opacity: 'show' }, 'fast'); '); //generic ajax form handler - calls next page load on success $('input.next:not(#eligibility)').live("click", function(){ $(".form_container form").validationEngine({ ajaxSubmit: true, ajaxSubmitFile: $(this).attr('action'), success : function() { var url = $('input.next').attr('rel'); ajaxFormStage(url); }, failure : function() { } }); }); }); });

  • how to change color of text following function in javascript

    - by OVERTONE
Ok before i make spaghetti of this code i thought id ask around here. ive made a quiz for an online site. The answers are stored in an array, and ive a function that checks the answers array to what youve clicked. then it counts them and gives you your score. but i want to change the clor of the right answer wen the user clicks the score button. so the correct answers are highlighted. something like this https://www.shutterpoint.com/Home-Quiz.cfm (just hit submit at the bottom, no need to do the quiz). the little answer icon at the side looks flashy but id rather just have the text change color. heres how my questions are formatted <p>Depth of field is controlled by :?</p> <p id = "question2"><input type="radio" name="question2" id="Answer1" value = "a" onClick ="recordAnswer(2,this.value)"/> The focal length of the lens. <br/> <input type="radio" name="question2" id="Answer2" value = "b" onClick = "recordAnswer(2,this.value)"/> The size of the aperture opening. <br/> <input type="radio" name="question2" id="Answer3" value = "c" onClick = "recordAnswer(2,this.value)"/> The distance between the camera and lens. <br/> <input type="radio" name="question2" id="Answer4" value = "d" onClick = "recordAnswer(2,this.value)"/> All of these. <br/></p> and these are the two functions that are called throughout. record answer is called every time the user clicks a button function recordAnswer(question, answer) { answers[question-1] = answer; } this is the final button which calculates the score function scoreQuiz() { var totalCorrect = 0; for(var count = 0; count<correctAnswers.length;count++) { if(answers[count]== correctAnswers[count]) totalCorrect++; } <!-- alert("You scored " + totalCorrect + " out of 12 correct!"); --> } another function is best i think. ive already made attemots at it and know i have to set the color using document.getElementById('question2').style.color = '#0000ff'; question2 being the p id i think if i take in the value part of (input type....) ill be able to compare it to the answers array. but im not quite sure how to do this. any helpers? maybe something like this document.getElementById("Answer1").style.color = '#0000ff'; using the id part of the (input type line) i think i got it actually. ill post my answer in a sec
