  • SQL Get Top 10 records by date

    I have a table full of bugs. The BugTitle is the page erroring and I also capture the error line. I would like to build an SQL Query that selects the top 10 bugs based on bugtitle and error line. I have this query: SELECT COUNT(BugTitle) AS BugCount, BugTitle, ErrLine FROM Bugs WHERE BugDate >= DateAdd(Day, -30, DateDiff(Day, 0, GetDate())) GROUP BY BugTitle, ErrLine ORDER BY BugCount, ErrLine DESC But I'm not sure if it's correct. I'm pretty sure that my test data only has 1 bug that happens on the same line but that's not showing up with this query. Can anyone help?

  • Visual Studio CLR project

    Hi, so I wanted to try my first CLR project in Visual C++. So I created console project, but since every tutorial I found about CLR programming was using C#, or windows forms, I just tried writing standart c++ Hello Word app using iostream (I think code isnt needed in this case) but I though it will give me some compile error, since iostream uses precompiled functions, and CLR app compiles into MSIL. I assumed that CLR programming using C++ means just using C++ syntax, but different functions for I/O and so. So, basicly, what I want to ask is, can any native console C++ app be compiled into MSIL and run by .NET framework?

It has to use a method to create two random integers using the System.Random class.   • Creating a ListView and setting the background color of a view in each row.

    Hey Everyone, I am trying to implement a ListView that is composed of rows that contain a View on the left followed by a TextView to the right of that. I want to be able to change the background color of the first View based on it's position in the ListView.     Hello everyone there, Me and my mates have been given an Excel spreasheet,which contains the data of the Census report. The column here corresponds to "Year" (from 2000-2010),the row means "City/Town",the cell is simply the population of a town at a particular year. We are up to doing some analysis like “what town had its first population gain in 10 years?” etc.My question is just about can we do this in Excel,or do we need to export the data to other database(SQL) then do the programming?     Writing and publishing a book about a technology early in its infancy is cruel.  Your subjected to many product changes and your book might be outdated the day it reaches the book stores.  I bought Roger Jennings “Cloud Computing with the Windows Azure Platform” book knowing that it was published in October 2009 and that many changes occurred to the Azure platform in 2009. Right off the bat and from a technology point of view, some chapters are now outdated but don’t reject this book because of that.  In the first few chapters, Jennings does a great job at explaining Cloud Computing and the Azure platform from a business point of view, something that few Azure articles and blogs fail to do right now.  You may want to wait for the second edition and read Jennings’ outstanding Azure focused blog in the meantime.   var addthis_pub="guybarrette";

  • Possible Hack with FTP - What are the solutions?

    I was reading the FTP rfc and hence had this idea. Suppose there are several public ftp servers that allow anonymous user login. I open a control connection on port 21 to each of these servers. Now suppose there is a web server a.com with ip address x.y.z.w listening on port 80. FTP allows a user to specify the host on which the data connection is to be setup. So a user specifies the host and port number of a.com web server. Now the ftp server starts sending data to a.com for which it is not a valid HTTP request and hence it is rejected. But a.com notes that the invalid http request came from a public ftp server and not my ip address. Can this not lead to a distributed attack by utilizing all public ftp servers. worse still the the data being sent by ftp server could be a valid http request which could trigger a.com to send a file back to the ftp server. Is there a solution for this or is it no problem at all.

  • Weighted Average and Ratings

    Maths isn't my strong point and I'm at a loss here. Basically, all I need is a simple formula that will give a weighted rating on a scale of 1 to 5. If there are very few votes, they carry less influence and the rating pressess more towards the average (in this case I want it to be 3, not the average of all other ratings). I've tried a few different bayesian implementations but these haven't worked out. I believe the graphical representation I am looking for could be shown as: ___ / ___/ Cheers

    I am looking for the Java equivalent of gprof. I did a little Java profiling using System.getCurrentMillis(), and saw several GUI tools which seem too much. A good compromise could be a text-based Java profiler, preferably free or low-cost, which works in either Windows XP or Linux.

  • Longest substring that appears n times

    For a string of length L, I want to find the longest substring that appears n (n<L) or more times in ths string. For example, the longest substring that occurs 2 or more times in "BANANA" is "ANA", once starting from index 1, and once again starting from index 3. The substrings are allowed to overlap. In the string "FFFFFF", the longest string that appears 3 or more times is "FFFF". The brute force algorithm for n=2 would be selecting all pairs of indexes in the string, then running along until the characters are different. The running-along part takes O(L) and the number of pairs is O(L^2) (duplicates are not allowed but I'm ignoring that) so the complexity of this algorithm for n=2 would be O(L^3). For greater values of n, this grows exponentially. Is there a more efficient algorithm for this problem?

Which class is responsible for creating a new objItem? Which class is responsible for deleting a objItem? Should it delete itself as a method?

  • How do you make the scale animation begin at the middle of the object instead of the top left?

    What I am trying to accomplish: 10 percent increase scale transformation of a rectangle via Silverlight storyboard animation. What I currently doing: While in Expression Blend 3, I created a rectangle, created a storyboard, and created the scale transformation. The preview looked correct because the increase in scale begins in the middle of the object. When I run the project the scale transformation begins at the top left. Is there some piece of code missing?
