  • Making Swedish characters show properly in Windows Command Prompt using Python in Notepad++

    The title explains it well. I have set up Notepad++ to open the Python script in the command prompt when I press F8 but all Swedish characters looks messed up when opening in CMD but perfectly fine in e.g IDLE. This simple example code: #!/usr/bin/env python #-*- coding: UTF-8 -*- print "åäö" Looks like this. As you can see the output of the batch file I use to open Python in cmd below shows the characters correctly but not the Python script above it. How do I fix this? I open the file in cmd using this method

  • How to Sync CI (Hudson) Activity into an existing automated Build Process (phing, svn)?

    OUR CURRENT BUILD PROCESS We're a small team of developers (2 to 4 people depending on project) who currently use Phing to deploy code to a staging environment, before going live. We keep our code in a SVN repo, where the trunk holds current active development and, at certain times, we do make branches that we test and then (if successful), tag and export to the staging env. If everything goes well there too, we finally deploy'em in production servers. Actions are highly automated, but always triggered by human intervention. THE DOUBT We'd now like to introduce Continuous Integration (with Hudson) in the process; unfortunately we have a few doubts about activity syncing, since we're afraid that CI could somewhat interfere with our build process and cause certain problems. Considering that an automated CI cycle has a certain frequency of automatically executed actions, we see 2 possible cases for "integration", each with its own problems: Case A: each CI cycle produces a new branch with its own name; we do use such a name to manually (through phing as it happens now) export the code from the SVN to the staging env. The problem I see here is that (unless specific countermeasures are taken - IE deletion) the number of branches we have can easily grow out of control (let's suppose we commit often, so that we have a fresh new build/branch every N minutes). Case B: each CI cycle creates a new branch named 'current', which is then tagged with a unique name only when we manually decide to export it to staging; the current branch, at any case is then deleted, as soon as the next CI cycle starts up. The problem we see here is that a new cycle could kick in while someone is tagging/exporting the 'current' branch to staging thus creating an inconsistent build (but maybe here I'm just too pessimist, since I confess I don't know whether SVN offers some built-in protection against this). With all this being said, I was wondering if anyone with similar experiences could be so kind to give us some hints on the subject, since none of the approaches depicted above looks completely satisfing to us. Is there something important we just completely left off in the overall picture? Thanks for your attention & (in advance) for your help!

  • Can't get past "A potentially dangerous Request.Form value was detected..." error

    I'm doing my first ASP.NET MVC2 project and I can't get past the "A potentially dangerous Request.Form value was detected..." error when trying to submit a form. I've done this in MVC1 using the ValidateInputAttribute and I've read about the breaking change in .NET 4 that requires setting the request validation mode in the web.config. Basically I'm doing exactly what is outlined in this thread: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2019843/a-potentially-dangerous-request-form-value-in-mvc-2-asp-net-4-0. Nothing's working though so I must be missing something.   • [WPF] Custom TabItem in TabControl

    I've created CustomTabItem which inherits from TabItem and i'd like to use it while binding ObservableCollection in TabControl <TabControl ItemsSource="{Binding MyObservableCollection}"/> It should like this in XAML, but i do not know how change default type of the output item created by TabControl while binding. I've tried to create converter, but it has to do something like this inside convertin method: List<CustomTabItem> resultList = new List<CustomTabItem>(); And iterate through my input ObservableCollection, create my CustomTab based on item from collection and add it to resultList... I'd like to avoid it, bacause while creating CustomTabItem i'm creating complex View and it takes a while, so i don't want to create it always when something change in binded collection. My class extends typical TabItem and i'd like to use this class in TabControl instead of TabItem. <TabControl.ItemContainerStyle> <Style TargetType="{x:Type local:CustomTabItem}"> <Setter Property="MyProperty" Value="{Binding xxx}"/> </Style> </TabControl.ItemContainerStyle> Code above generates error that Style cannot be applied to TabItem. My main purpose is to use in XAML my own CustomTabItem and bind properties... Just like above... I've also tried to use <TabControl.ItemTemplate/> <TabControl.ContentTemaplte/> But they are just styles for TabItem, so i'll still be missing my properties wchich i added in my custom class.

  • Is it possible to have an inconsistent branch/tag with SVN due to concurrent commit action?

    I'm trying to understand whether subversion has its own mechanisms for regulating concurrent user activities on the trunk (IE a branch/tag action and a commit action happening at the same time) or if it's up to the users to sync between themselves before acting on the trunk. I've been trying to find documentation about this on the net but haven't been able to come up with something, so I appreciate if someone can enlighten me on the topic. Thank you in advance!

  • reuse generators

    I need to check the central limit with dices. Rool D dices. Sum the results. Repeat the same thing for N times. Change D and repeat. There's no need to store random values so I want to use only generators. The problem is that generators are consuming, I can't resuging them more times. Now my code use explicit for and I don't like it. dice_numbers = (1, 2, 10, 100, 1000) repetitions = 10000 for dice_number in dice_numbers: # how many dice to sum sum_container = [] for r in range(repetitions): rool_sum = sum((random.randint(1,6) for _ in range(dice_number))) sum_container.append(rool_sum) plot_histogram(sum_container) I want to create something like for r in repetitions: rools_generator = (random.randint(1,6) for _ in range(dice_number) sum_generator = (sum(rools_generator) for _ in range(r)) but the second time I resuse rools_generator it is condumed. I need to construct generator class?

  • iPhone Simulator locks up immediately upon Build / Run

    I'm having a problem getting my MacBook set up to build iPhone *apps* in xCode. The iPhone Simulator locks up and shows the "spinning circle" busy icon. I've tried everything I can think of, including resetting the simulator tried all of the different hardware options tried the two debug build choices in xCode. uninstalling the SDK and completely reinstalling I downloaded the SDK today - "xcode_3.2.2_and_iphone_sdk_3.2_final" I'm just upgraded from Leopard to Snow Leopard (10.6.3). I've run all the software updates. xCode version says 3.2.2 (1650) If it matters, my MacBook is 3-4 years old, 13 inch, dual 2.16 ghz intel cores, 2 gig RAM. I've never had a single problem with it. I would be so grateful if anyone can help me thanks so much,

  • Finding all the shortest paths between two nodes in unweighted directed graphs using BFS algorithm

I have used BFS algorithm to do the job, but unfortunately I can only print one shortest path not all of them, for example if they are 4 paths having lenght 3, my algorithm only prints the first one but I would like it to print all the four shortest paths.   • Putting newline in matplotlib label with TeX in Python?

    How can I add a newline to a plot's label (e.g. xlabel or ylabel) in Matplotlib? For example, plt.bar([1, 2], [4, 5]) plt.xlabel("My x label") plt.ylabel(r"My long label with $\Sigma_{C}$ math \n continues here") Ideally i'd like the y-labeled to be centered too. Is there a way to do this? It's important that the label have both tex (enclosed in '$') and the newline. thanks.

  • Opengl ES and texcoord

    Hi, I've got some code which I would like to translate into Opengl ES. I'm not experienced with it however, so here it goes. The original code does a loop like this: glBegin(GL_TRIANGLES); for(i=0; i<num_triangles; i++) { glNormal(...); glTexCoord2f(...); glVerted3fv(...); glTexCoord2f(...); glVerted3fv(...); glTexCoord2f(...); glVerted3fv(...); } glEnd(); So that's ok - I can change the vertex handling for each triangle in the loop, into the standard: glEnableClientState (GL_VERTEX_ARRAY); glVertexPointer (3, GL_SOMETHING, 0, verts); glDrawArrays (GL_TRIANGLES, 0, 3); But how do I add the texcoord setting into this example?
