  • Managed c++ std::string not accessible in unmanaged c++

    In unmanaged c++ dll i have a function which takes constant std::string as argument Prototype : void read ( const std::string &amp;imageSpec_ ) I call this function from managed c++ dll by passing a std::string. When i debug the unmanaged c++ code the parameter imageSpec_ shows the value correctly but does not allow me to copy that value in other variable. imageSpec_.copy( sFilename, 4052 ); It shows length of imageSpec_ as 0(zero). If i try copying like std::string sTempFileName(imageSpec_); this statement string new string is a empty string. But for std::string sTempFileName(imageSpec_.c_str()); this statement string gets copied correctly. i.e. with charpointer string is copied correctly. Copying this way will need a major change in unmanaged c++ code. I am building unmanaged code in Visual studio 6.0 and managed c++ in Visual studio 2008. Is there any specific setting or code change in managed c++ that will solve the issue?

Now i have few concerns here. is there a shell running in background in iphone, so that it allows other application to run basic app commands. if the above statement is true then how can i enable or run commands directly into iphone shell? if above statements are false, then could you please explain how these commands are being executed? is this part of iPhone SDK? or this funcationality is iPhone OS

    I've had a bug in our software that occurs when I receive a connection timeout. These errors are very rare (usually when my connection gets dropped by our internal network). How can I generate this kind of effect artificially so I can test our software? If it matters the app is written in C++/MFC using CAsyncSocket classes. Edit: I've tried using a non-existant host, and I get the socket error: WSAEINVAL (10022) Invalid argument My next attempt was to use Alexander's suggestion of connecting to a different port, e.g. 81 (on my own server though). That worked great. Exactly the same as a dropped connection (60 second wait, then error). Thank you!

  • Windows Explorer argument not being interpreted?

    I'm currently using: Process.Start("explorer.exe", "/Select, " + fullPath); //with file name.extension That basically tells windows explorer to open the folder where the file is in, with the given file selected. But, by the forces of evil, sometimes it works and sometimes it just opens the file ("/select" is... ignored) Has anyone ever experienced this? If it changes anything, it's a file in a local network and the path looks like this \\server\folder\subfolder\something\file.ext (of course in c# every '\' is doubled, and @ is not a choice, the path is generated by something else) I'll be constantly reading comments to supply any aditional information

  • Generic object load function for scala

    I'm starting on a Scala application which uses Hibernate (JPA) on the back end. In order to load an object, I use this line of code: val addr = s.load(classOf[Address], addr_id).asInstanceOf[Address]; Needless to say, that's a little painful. I wrote a helper class which looks like this: import org.hibernate.Session class DataLoader(s: Session) { def loadAddress(id: Long): Address = { return s.load(classOf[Address], id).asInstanceOf[Address]; } ... } So, now I can do this: val dl = new DataLoader(s) val addr = dl loadAddress(addr_id) Here's the question: How do I write a generic parametrized method which can load any object using this same pattern? i.e val addr = dl load[Address](addr_id) (or something along those lines.) I'm new to Scala so please forgive anything here that's especially hideous.

Now, I can connect to the server but the real problem is when I try to log in using the "USER" command. c:/>nc server.pop3.com 110 +OK Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 POP3 server version 6.5.7638.1 (server.pop3.com) ready. USER myuserid -ERR Protocol error Now I'm wondering whether there's an issue on my side or on the server? Thank you for the time and answers.

    Hey there, just set up a simple project to test the functionality of the maven exec plugin. I have one class containing one "Hello World" main method. I've tested two configurations of the exec plugin. <goals> <goal>exec</goal> </goals> <configuration> <executable>java</executable> <arguments> <argument>-classpath</argument> <classpath/> <argument>test.exec.HelloWorldExec</argument> </arguments> </configuration> failed miserably, giving me a ClassNotFoundException, while <goals><goal>java</goal></goals> <configuration> <mainClass>test.exec.HelloWorldExec</mainClass> </configuration> worked. However I would like to be able to start my java main class in a separate process, so I'd like to understand whats different with exec:exec and how I can get it to work?     Background Our email vendor supports rss feeds for dynamic content, which we use successfully for "daily headline" type emails. This is a great help in automating many different emails that we don't have staffing to create daily. One of our staff as requested that his daily email (which has recent headlines from his Movable Type blog) only have headlines from entries posted on that day. My Question Since we use Movable Type for his blog, is there a way to generate a rss feed that only contains items posted on the current day?

    I have a 'Contact' class with two properties : firstName and lastName. When I want to display a contact's full name, here is what I do: NSString *fullName = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@ %@", contact.firstName, contact.lastName]; But when the firstName and/or lastName is set to nil, I get a "(null)" in the fullName string. To prevent it, here's what I do: NSString *first = contact.firstName; if(first == nil) first = @""; NSString *last = contact.lastName; if(last == nil) last = @""; NSString *fullName = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@ %@", first, last]; Does someone know a better/more concise way to do this?

I understand that this is the existing definition of PUT - this question is about the reason(s) why it would be defined that way. i.e: What is gained by preventing partial PUTs? Why was preventing idempotent partial updates considered an acceptable loss?

  • Scheme: Detecting duplicate elements in a list

    Does R6RS or Chez Scheme v7.9.4 have a library function to check if a list contains duplicate elements? Alternatively, do either have any built in functionality for sets (which dis-allow duplicate elements)? So far, I've only been able to find an example here. The problem with that is that it doesn't appear to actually be part of the Chez Scheme library. Although I could write my own version of this, I'd much rather use a well known, tested, and maintained library function - especially given how basic an operation this is. So a simple "use these built-in functions" or a "no built-in library implements this" will suffice. Thanks!

    I've seen simple examples of rendering a Zend_Form using decorators, but I'm not sure they are able to handle the issue I'm facing very well. I query the database and get an array of user objects. I want to display these users as a form, with a radio button next to each of them and a submit button at the bottom of the page. Here's roughly what the form will look like: [user id] [email] [full name] ( ) 1 [email protected] Test user 1 (*) 2 [email protected] Test user 2 [SUBMIT] Is this something achievable in a reasonably straightforward way or do I need to use the ViewScript partial?

    When users click on an element in my webpage, I would like to call a javascript function that reads the values of a few text boxes on the page, wraps their contents as json where the keys are the ids for the text boxes and the values are the contents of each text box, and then posts the resulting json to a url. I would then like the same function to expect back a json response and call another javascript function with the returned json data. Question: What is the best way to write the javascript function to create a json structure from html elements, post the json with jquery, and call another javascript function with the resulting json response from the server?

  • automating hudson builds with ant throwing 403

    We have a hudson server which deploys builds. We have a few services which we want to be able to remotely tell hudson to deploy a certain build ... these services are using ant. So I'm trying to get it working but keeping getting a 403 response when giving a build number like so... <ac:post to="http://hostname:8080/hudson/job/test_release_indexes/build?" verbose="true" wantresponse="true"> <prop name="token" value="indexes"/> <prop name="BUILDNUMBER" value="0354"/> </ac:post> this throws the 403. I've also tried passing it props for the username and password like so ... <ac:post to="http://srulesre2:8080/hudson/job/test_dartmouth_indexes/build?" verbose="true" wantresponse="true"> <prop name="token" value="indexes"/> <prop name="BUILDNUMBER" value="0354"/> <prop name="username" value="test"/> <prop name="password" value="test"/> </ac:post> I've tried a hundred different variations on username and password ... like j_username and j_password or user and pass ... but nothing is working ... keep getting the same 403. And the username and password are valid because I can manually log in with admin privileges. Any ideas would be great

  • swfobject in Uploadify not working with IE 7 or 8

    I am using Uploadify and have a pop up which is loaded by jQuery by Ajax. The page on which the popup lives on has an include to swfobject (from Google's Code Api) and the Uploadify button should appear. This works great on FF and Chrome but IE gives me a javascript error Unknown runtime error line 4 character 5942 Anyone got any ideas how to fix this problem? ORA-12705: invalid or unknown NLS parameter value specified When I point the same jboss instance to a different schema, the application works fine. I tried to go through few forum and found that the NLS parameter settings are fine. Can anyone help.   • Cannot establish a network connect to VMWare Fusion VM

    I am running Snow Leopard 10.6.2 (not the server edition) with VMWare Fusion 3.0.0 and I trying to get my Ubuntu 9.10 x86_64 VM working. I am using a bridged connection, and I have an internet connection FROM the Ubuntu VM (I can download updates, ping websites, etc), but I cannot connect TO the Ubuntu box from any other device on my network. I am trying to get Mongrel up on the Ubuntu VM for some Rails stuff, but it's not working. I know Mongrel/Rails is not the problem because if I start the server on the Ubuntu VM, background the process, and then wget the index page, it works. I just cannot connect to the site from another IP. I have tried using a static IP and a DHCP IP configuration on the Ubuntu VM, neither work (for incoming connections, both work for outwards). I have port scanned the Ubuntu VM, and it appears that all ports are closed. However, the Ubuntu VM does respond to pings. I noticed a similar question here: http://serverfault.com/questions/99757/setting-up-a-bridged-network-with-vmware-fusion, but no answer. Any ideas?
