  • Apache only transferring partial content from a Samba share

    I have an Apache server running on CentOS 5.3. It currently hosts 12 sites with no known issues. (I say this to point out that up to this point my Apache installation has performed flawlessly) I'm adding a new site where the DocumentRoot of the new VirtualHost is a Samba share. When at the command line of the server I can cp video.m4v ~ and the whole file is copied properly to my home directory. But when I try to access the file from IE/Firefox/Safari/Chrome it only passes back a partial result of 33k. The same thing is happening with my image and audio files. If I make the files local to the server by copying them from the share and then serving them up then the files transfer. Any ideas?

  • MySQL 5.1.34 on NFS w/NetApp

    Is this still a bad idea? I know older versions of MySQL performed poorly with NFS. I imagine the issue lies with the usage of fsnc() and/or O_DIRECT. If the issues are mostly resolved, are there common pitfalls/gotchas, specifically around a large (multiple tables with tens of millions of records) InnoDB database that may see up to 20-50 reads/sec

  • Microsoft Word 2007 Landscape Printing

    When printing document in landscape mode using Microsoft Word 2007, it is print portrait and scaling (varies a little per printer). I made a new document with just text and the text is getting chopped even in print preview. It seems rather weird. Am I doing something wrong?

I just discovered it, and while it sounds like it addresses some long-standing problems in AI and machine-learning, I'm sceptical. I had never heard of it, and was surprised to find it's actually been around for a few years, having been announced in the paper Church: a language for generative models.

  • Linker error: wants C++ virtual base class destructor

    Hi, I have a link error where the linker complains that my concrete class's destructor is calling its abstract superclass destructor, the code of which is missing. This is using GCC 4.2 on Mac OS X from XCode. I saw http://stackoverflow.com/questions/307352/g-undefined-reference-to-typeinfo but it's not quite the same thing.   • What database options do I have for the Blackberry?

    I notice most of the discussions about Blackberry database options are old, and generally not too informative. As of today, March 31st, 2010, what is the best, most universally supported, free database option available for Blackberry developers? I heard SQLite is available for JDE v5, but last I checked, that was still in beta, and I didn't want to commit to developing on a system that is not supported by most of the phones in service. Thing is, I don't see any dates on these claims. For all I know, the announcements I am reading are from 2008. So, I am still on v 4.7. I need to use a relational DB for the app I am developing, but there aren't many resources for DB handling available - or at least resources that are useful to me. I find a lot of "tutorials" that assume you know everything there is to know about Blackberry development, or Java. But no complete classes or anything. Many of these examples don't even work. Eclipse gives warnings and errors from code copied and pasted from other people's examples. I can answer any questions that may assist in this case. Hopefully, this thread will help many BB developers in the future.

  • How can I get the width/height of a loaded swf's stage in AS2?

    I'm using MovieClipLoader to load an external as2 swf file into my as2 flash project, and I'm having trouble getting the original stage size of the loaded swf. When I run the following code: var popup:MovieClip = _root.createEmptyMovieClip("popup", 1); var loader:MovieClipLoader = new MovieClipLoader(); var loadHandler:Object = new Object(); loader.addListener(loadHandler); loader.loadClip(url, popup); loadHandler.onLoadInit = function(mc:MovieClip) { trace(mc._width + ", " + mc._height); } I get strange width/height values (mc._width=601.95, mc._height=261.15) when what I actually want is the stage size of the loaded swf file, which in this case I know to be 300px x 250px. Any suggestions appreciated! Thanks

  • How to turn off MVC.NET version 2's RequireHttps attribute?

    I see that version 2 of MVC.NET now has a RequireHttps attribute, which works great for me. However, what's a good strategy for turning the effect off? For example, I want to use Https on some pages, but regular Http on others. Should I create my own RequireHttp attribute? EDIT: I'm using my own RequireHttp attribute, and it works fine, but I'm wondering if there's some built-in functionality in MVC.NET Version 2 that I'm missing. EDIT 2: I must not have been clear. My question concerns the following: if you use RequireHttps, then any requests after that will be over Https even if the Controller or Action is not decorated with RequireHttps. Unless I'm mistaken, you need a 2nd attribute such as RequireHttp to redirect requests to Http instead of Https.

  • Extracting CDATA Using jQuery

    It looks like this has been asked before, but the answers do not appear to work for me. I am outputting information from a local XML file, but the description elements is not being output because it is enclosed in CDATA - if I remove the CDATA portion then things work fine.     Consider de following markup: <div id="outerElement"> <div id="innerElement" style="border: 1px solid blue; background-color: #f0f3f5; margin-top: 100px"> TESTE </div> </div> I want to get the actual final height of outerElement using javascript. I noticed that if I remove the vertical margins from innerElement I am able to get what I want but I cannot alter styles from within the outerElement. How do I do this? Obs: I already tried height, scrollheight and offsetHeight in all browsers. Chrome gives me the expected value (including inner element's margins) for scrollHeight. All other browsers fail.

I mean I want to share the internet connection through it I have installed 2 Lan cards in it eth0 and eth1 eth0 Internet eth1 LAN eth0 configuration as follows ; Ipaddress : 115.252.64.187 Subnet : 255.255.255.240 Gateway : 115.252.64.177 I wrote the following entries in Vim /etc/resolv.conf nameserver 202.138.96.2 (preferred DNS Server) nameserver 202.138.103.2 (secondary DNS server) :q! then eth1 ipaddress : 192.168.1.1 subnet : 255.255.255.0 gateway : 192.168.1.1 (I am confused which gateway I need to use in the above scenario) I am unable to ping to my lan and I am able to connect to the Internet.   • Is there a compiled* programming language with dynamic, maybe even weak typing?

    I wondered if there is a programming language which compiles to machine code/binary (not bytecode then executed by a VM, that's something completely different when considering typing) that features dynamic and/or weak typing, e.g: Think of a compiled language where: Variables don't need to be declared Variables can be created doing runtime Functions can return values of different types Questions: Is there such a programming language? (Why) not? I think that a dynamically yet strong typed, compiled language would really sense, but is it possible?
