- by Vineet
Hi ALL, I am trying to change the value of upper bound in For loop ,but the Loop is running till the upper bound which was defined in the starting. According to logic loop should go infinite, since value of v_num is always one ahead of i,But loop is executing three time. Please explain This is the code DECLARE v_num number:=3; BEGIN FOR i IN 1..v_num LOOP v_num:=v_num+1; DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE(i ||' '||v_num); END LOOP; END; Ouput Coming 1 4 2 5 3 6

• How to use MOV instruction in ARM with an immediate number as the second operand

- by Summer_More_More_Tea
Hi everyone: I just begin to study ARM assembly language, and am not clear about how to use MOV to transfer an immediate number into a register. From both the ARM reference manual and my textbook, it's said that range of immediate number following MOV instruction is 0-255. But when I test on my own PC in ADS 1.2 IDE, instruction MOV R2, #0xFFFFFFFF performs well. Isn't number 0xFFFFFFFF out of range according to the specification? Hope someone can give me a hand. Regards.

• load/unload C dll with C# problems

- by Goran
I'm having problems with external native DLL. I'm working on ASP.NET 1.1 web application and have this DLL which I load through DLLImport directives. This is how I map DLL functions: [DllImport("somedllname", CallingConvention=CallingConvention.StdCall)] public static extern int function1(string lpFileName, string lpOwnerPw,string lpUserPw); [DllImport("somedllname", CallingConvention=CallingConvention.StdCall)] public static extern int function2(int nHandle); I call the dll methods and all works great, but I have problems with this DLL crashing my web site on some cases, so I would like an option to unload the dll after I use it. I found a solution at this link, but I don't have 'UnmanagedFunctionPointer' attribute in .NET 1.1 available. http://blogs.msdn.com/jonathanswift/archive/2006/10/03/Dynamically-calling-an-unmanaged-dll-from-.NET-_2800_C_23002900_.aspx Is there a way I can achieve what this guy did with his example?

• Install .exe software application on remote machines.

- by coral_reef
Hi, I modified this script from the net, which is suppose to install .exe applications for remote machines: $m = Read-Host "Enter machine name" $File = "c:\temp\office2007sp2-kb958194-fullfile-en-us.exe" $product = [WMICLASS]"\$m\ROOT\CIMV2:win32_Process" $product.Create($File) When I run this script, I have noticed that this program promptly creates a process in the remote machine with the application name office2007sp2-kb958194-fullfile-en-us.exe. This can be checked in the task manager also. But other than that, there is no way to find out if this is getting installed in the remote machine or not. Is there a way to find out, if the installation is really happening? Or does this script actually works? Any help will be great! Reagrds Arindam

• Coordinating typedefs and structs in std::multiset (C++)

- by Sarah
I'm not a professional programmer, so please don't hesitate to state the obvious. My goal is to use a std::multiset container (typedef EventMultiSet) called currentEvents to organize a list of structs, of type Event, and to have members of class Host occasionally add new Event structs to currentEvents. The structs are supposed to be sorted by one of their members, time. I am not sure how much of what I am trying to do is legal; the g++ compiler reports (in "Host.h") "error: 'EventMultiSet' has not been declared." Here's what I'm doing: // Event.h struct Event { public: bool operator < ( const Event & rhs ) const { return ( time < rhs.time ); } double time; int eventID; int hostID; }; // Host.h ... void calcLifeHist( double, EventMultiSet * ); // produces compiler error ... void addEvent( double, int, int, EventMultiSet * ); // produces compiler error // Host.cpp #include "Event.h" ... // main.cpp #include "Event.h" ... typedef std::multiset< Event, std::less< Event > > EventMultiSet; EventMultiSet currentEvents; EventMultiSet * cePtr = ¤tEvents; ... Major questions Where should I include the EventMultiSet typedef? Are my EventMultiSet pointers obviously problematic? Is the compare function within my Event struct (in theory) okay? Thank you very much in advance.

• java json/object to array

- by heldopslippers
Hi people. I have a question about type casting. I have the following json String: {"server":"clients","method":"whoIs","arguments":["hello"]} I am parsing it to the following Map< String, Object {arguments=[hello], method=whoIs, server=clients} It is now possible to do the following: request.get("arguments"); This works fine. But i need to get the array the is stored in the arguments. How can i accomplish this? I tried (for example) the following: System.out.println(request.get("arguments")[0]); But of course this doesn't work.. Does anybody know how this would be possible?

• How can I run ARM code from external memory?

- by samoz
I am using an LPC2132 ARM chip to develop a program. However, my program has grown larger than the space on the chip. How can I connect my chip to some sort of external memory chip to hold additional executable code? Is this possible? If not, what do people normally do when they run out of chip space?

• Firebug is throwing a ' $( ' error?

- by Kyle
I am getting a strange error in Firebug, that I am not getting in Webkit. The error comes up as ' $( ' in firebug. Here's the code that is supposedly causing it to flip: $.getScript("http://kylehotchkiss.com/min/?g=packageHome", function() { $(".countdown").countdown({ until: new Date(2010, 6 - 1, 5), layout:'{dn} {dl}' }); }); The error isn't specific to the countdown script, it's just giving me an error trying to call any plugin I just loaded in firefox. Any ideas?

• UNIQUE Constraints in SQL (SQL Server)

- by rockbala
Why are UNIQUE Constraints needed in database ? Can you provide any examples ? Primary Key is UNIQUE by default... Understandable as they are referred in other tables as Foreign keys... relation is needed to connect them for rdbms platform... but why would one refer to other columns as UNIQUE, what is benefit of doing so ?)

• SOLVED: The type or namespace name 'Linq' does not exist in the namespace 'System' - are you missing

This problem has been cropping up a lot recently - projects will complain of missing namespace's when I open them up and attempt to compile the first time. If this has happened to you then read on for a simple fix. Scenario I don't know if this one is a bug in Visual Studio 2010 (Beta 2 and RC1) or something else but recently I have noticed this error cropping up more and more. When I open an existing project it might fail to compile. I have also noticed it happen when I have downloaded a fresh...Did you know that DotNetSlackers also publishes .net articles written by top known .net Authors? • Install Previous Version of PHP Package from Debian Testing Using Apt

- by Metric Scantlings
Is there a way to install an older Debian testing repository version of a package using apt-get? Specifically, I am looking to install the latest version of PHP 5.2.x on Debian Lenny. The last time I set up an environment, 5.2.12 just happened to be the version in Debian testing. That was perfect, convenient. Now, testing is at 5.3.x which won't work for my purposes, and my attempts at sudo apt-get -t testing install php5=5.2.12* are answered with E: Version '5.2.12*' for 'php5' was not found.

• Debug Apache mod_status showing 151 requests/sec - 2.7 GB/second

- by James Hackett
One of my web servers went crazy this morning and showed "151 requests/sec - 2.7 GB/second - 140.7 MB/request" the normal is like "11.1 requests/sec - 65.6 kB/second - 5.9 kB/request" I don't even think that kind of through put is possible on my server. It was also listing odd symbols for the urls and the amount of data transfered for connections was off the meter 246-0 -1286402072 0/0/0 ? 0.00 -1444841118 0 -5416403825852416.0 0.00 0.00 °Rk³ 247-0 18 0/0/0 ? -13112985.76 2094967848 0 -5428200825946112.0 0.00 0.00 248-2 23437 0/0/2 _ 0.00 0 0 0.0 0.00 -5340330065920.00 74.53.23.134 web2.mydomain.com OPTIONS / HTTP/1.0 249-2 23279 0/2981898840/0 W 16673317.60 11 0 0.0 2844.06 0.00 201.144.221.245 www.mydomain.com GET /cb8ff49a2395a7b1accbbce1e4cf164f/view/256 HTTP/1.1 250-0 0 40600/3009863336/0 ? 3816369.92 910209710 0 2913775.3 -5323551899648.00 -5324315849947.28 èøϲ Has anyone seen anything like this before and know what might be causing it? • How much does a computer actually cost?

- by Cawas
Ok, so when you buy a new notebook, you spend about $1 or $2 thousand with the OS included. When you make your own desktop machine you can get as low as $100 for a good one today, with not a single piece of software included. It can't be much lower, but it can go lot higher. People, including myself, tend to believe that's the price of a computer, but then there comes the softwares. I just stumbled upon a nice piece of application I could use myself, but it's very specific, very tiny, and most people would never bother about this. And it costs "just $12". That is a lot for something I may use just once or twice! OS upgrades, hardware malfunction, and your custom set of software actually raise the computer price quite a lot, thus this question: how much we pay in the end for our personal computers? I'd like to see some statistics on that. Maybe divided into 3 categories or something, but some data with averages, minimum and "maximum" costs would be very nice. Maybe a "cost per year" would be nice. Just wondering.

• Windows 7 - Wireless connection before login possible?

- by EJ
Is there a way for Windows 7 to connect to a wireless network before a user has logged in? I have found no good answers to this question elsewhere. Some say it should already be happening if I am using Windows' connection management (WLAN AutoConnect, formerly WirelessZero), but I am using that, and it is not. I can sit at the login screen for as long as you please and it will not connect (watching the router from a separate PC), moments after I login it will connect. Others have said that you need to use the manufacturer's connection management (not Windows'), and they can sometimes have the option for prelogin/prelogon connections, but I am using generic drivers. The device is a Netgear/Cisco WMP300N, with a Broadcom chipset. Netgear/Cisco and Broadcom all claim to not have drivers for Win7, but Win7 apparently comes with a functional driver.
