Hi all.
What are the most stable and useful Cryptography libraries, that they are:
written with/for python, c++, c#, .net
opensource, GNU, or other free license
I work with Zend Framework a lot and I just took a peek at Kohana, and it strikes me as odd that this is a typical scenario in these frameworks:
throw Some_Componenents_Exception( 'invalid argument' );
Where I believe this wouldn't be mouch more useful:
throw Some_Components_InvalidArgumentException( 'whatever discription' );
Because it is easier to catch.
I suspect, but immediately admit it's prejudiced, that the former practice is common in the PHP community. Should we, the PHP community, start using these descriptive types of expections more?
I'm learning jQuery-UI, and would like to put together a good looking page, so I'm looking at base2.css from the themeroller site.
Q: Is there anything anyone can tell me about base2.css?
Is there any documentation on it?
How much is specific to only the themeroller site itself, and how much of it is useful for sites that use themeroller themes?
the model is :
class someModel(db.Model):
name = db.StringProperty()
def name_is_sss(self):
return self.name=='sss'
the view is :
a=someModel()
a.name='sss'
path = os.path.join(os.path.dirname(__file__), os.path.join('templates', 'blog/a.html'))
self.response.out.write(template.render(path, {'a':a}))
and the html is :
{{ a.name_is_sss }}
the page shows :
True
so i want to make it more useful, and like this:
the model:
class someModel(db.Model):
name = db.StringProperty()
def name_is_x(self,x):
return self.name==x
the html is :
{% a.name_is_x 'www'%}
or
{{ a.name_is_x 'www'}}
but the error is :
TemplateSyntaxError: Invalid block tag: 'a.name_is_x'
or
TemplateSyntaxError: Could not parse the remainder: 'www'
so how to make my method running
thanks
Which lesser-known but useful features of Clojure do you find yourselves using? Feel free to share little tricks and idioms, but try to restrict yourselves to Core and Contrib.
I found some really interesting information in answers to these similar questions:
Hidden features of Haskell
Hidden features of Python
Hidden features of Java
Hidden features of C
There are many more "Hidden feature" questions for other languages, so I thought it would be nice to have one for Clojure, too.
What are the best resources do you recommend for learning php debugging?
Is there any specific book, screencast, blog post or article that you really found useful?
Today, I have looked into HTML code of facebook.com, and found something like this:
<input type="hidden" value="€,´,€,´,?,?,?" name="charset_test"/>
It's repeated two times inside the <form>...</form>.
Any idea what this code might be useful for - some kind of server-side client charset detection? As far as I know, browser charset is being transmitted in HTTP request anyway (an "Accept-Charset" header).
What I must to learn to write php web-site grabber (parser)?
It must collect information from other websites, such as as weather forecast, wiki "on this day", some news and other useful and interesting "every day" information!
what i must to read for writing m3u player on php?
sorry for my bad english
Hi,
I am working with a django project, I haven't started. The developed working on the project left. During the knowledge transfer, it was told to me that all the events are logged to the database. I don't find the database interface useful to search for logs and sometimes they don't even log(I might be wrong). I want to know, if there is an easy tutorial that explains how to enable logging in Django with minimal configuration changes.
Thank you
Bala
I have used table view in my application, and within that I have used the single line separator given by tableview.
How can I make a transparent separator in a tableview?
If anybody has any ideas/code snippets/useful links, I would greatly appreciate it.
Inspired by the question series "Hidden features of ..", I am curious to hear about your favorite Grails tips or lesser known but useful features you know of.
Rules:
One feature per answer
Give an example and short description of the feature, not just a link to documentation
Label the feature using bold title as the first line
Are there any features you would like to see added to C++?
Maybe...
A programming construct
An extra operator
A built-in function you think would be useful
I realize questions like this are frowned upon, but I think this one is a genuine programming question that can be answered and the answers will spawn valuable discussion. (And it's community wiki.)
Here is one of mine:
How come C++ has no exponent operator, like Python's **?
I need to develop an application that sends SMS to the users that are interested to get the updates about the website.
I am looking for Library in C# which is useful to integrate with my application. The Library can be GSM Modem dependent or free service which i can make use of it.
Please can anyone suggest the library or SMS gateway which can be integrated with C# application.
The Ruby LESS gem looks awesome - and I am working on a Python/Pylons web project where it would be highly useful. CSS is, as someone we're all familiar with recently wrote about, clunky in some important ways. So I'd like to make it easier on myself.
Is there an existing Python module or library that provides parallel functionality?
Hi folks,
got an new assignment covering Oracle databases. My problem now is that I am completely new to the Oracle system and never worked with it before. I need to develop a concept covering the installation and configuration of the server. Afterwards I need to migrate the old server to the new while ensuring date consistence.
I just wanted to ask if you guys have some useful links for introduction and of course good literature / books on this topic?
Thanks and cheers from Cologne
Marco
Hi,
I use CreateFileMapping, but this method does not useful,because only static structure can be shared by this method.
for example this method is good for following structure:
struct MySharedData
{
unsigned char Flag;
int Buff[10];
};
but it's not good for :
struct MySharedData
{
unsigned char Flag;
int *Buff;
};
would be thankful if somebody guide me on this,
Thanks in advance!
Hi,
I am running few tasks in my linux console and want to be notified by some kind of alarm, so I don't keep checking the progress of the task. Is there a way to customize the alarm by specifying additional filters like "ERROR" message etc..I think it will be a useful thing to have. Anyone aware of such functionality in linux?
Thank you
Bala
This question is maybe a little too cute, but I have always found startup profile files of other people both useful and instructive about the language. Moreover, while I have some customization for bash and vim, I have nothing for R. For example, one thing I always wanted is different colors for input and output text in a window terminal, and maybe even syntax highlighting.
I am studying ARM Processors from a textbook...
I thought it will be more useful if I could apply what I learn on an ARM simulator... writing code then watching results and different execution stages would be more fun...
I have searched for it, but all I could find was either a freeware on linux or a demo on windows
Is there a simulator that allow me to see execution steps and different changes for ARM processor (any version!) that runs on windows??
Thanks
I am a .NET webdev using ASP.NET, C# etc... I "learned" javascript in college 5+ years ago and can do basic jobs with it. But I wonder if it is useful to become proficient in it.
Why should I learn Javascript?
Is it more advantageous then learning JQuery or a different library?
Hi!I am new in the iphone Development.I want some useful blogs,pdf files,urls,Tutorials address etc..whatever gives me the information about iphone Development hints.please give me some reference regarding iphone Development...Thanks in Advance...
Recently I have read a lot about different NoSQL databases and how they are being effectively deployed by some major websites out there. I'm starting a project in which I think the schema-free nature of a database such as MongoDB would be tremendously useful. Everything I have read though seems to indicate that the main advantage of a NoSQL database is scalability. Is choosing a NoSQL database for the schema-free design just as legitimate a design decision as that of scalability?
I'm looking for a good general library to grab localized labels for displaying on a web page. I've found some useful solutions at http://stackoverflow.com/questions/19295/database-backed-i18n-for-java-web-app and I will use them but I wanted to see if there was a standard library other than the fmt jstl tags that is already database backed.
From hard experience I've found it useful to occasionally save the state of my long computations to disk to start them up later if something fails. Can I do this in a distributed computation package in R (like SNOW or multicore)?
It does not seem clear how this could be done since the master is collecting things from the slaves in a non-transparent way.
