<b>The Register: </b>"Ylmf OS 3.0 has been released from a Chinese software maker with the familiar Luna theme found in Microsoft's Windows 7 and Windows Vista predecessor."
I store my music on an external hard drive, and play them with foobar2k. However, the drive letter changes, which usually means I need to rebuild a fairly large playlist every so often.
I'm wondering if there's a way to reserve a drive letter for a specific external device (or type of device) by device ID or volume name, or if I'm better off using a NTFS mount point, and re-mounting the drive to a folder each time.
I'm using either a Windows XP or 7 system, and the external drive is NTFS.

I am using 7-Zip on Windows XP and whenever I download a .tar.gz file it takes me two steps to completely extract the file(s).
I right-click on the example.tar.gz file and choose 7-Zip -- Extract Here from the context menu.
I then take the resulting example.tar file and the right-click again and choose 7-Zip -- Extract Here from the context menu.
Is there a way through the context menu to do this in one step?

I have put my Windows XP install on a partioned 3gb drive (please tell me know if this is not a good idea) and intend to keep Documents and Settings and Program Files on the remainder partitioned portion (247gb).
Is there a way to make installers/Windows assume the F: drive (the bigger partition)?
Thank you

Is there a way to run vim from an usb stick, but with your own font you have somewhere in its directory, but which is not installed on a machine (i.e. it is not present in c:\windows\fonts) you're running it on?

My IBM Thinkpad t60 goes into sleep, or hibernation? and I cannot wake it up, no matter what keys I press. This includes pressing Fn plus F4 ( with the half moon). The only method I've found is to do a hard reset, and this causes other problems. Is there another way?
Thanks for any direction.
I am basically asking how to slipstream an application, I suppose. Please note that I do not want to combine these applications into a slipstreamed OS, but keep them separate on their own installation CDs--just like they came out of the box, only updated! Any help would be appreciated. Im asking specifically for programs I run on XP PRO.
After installing Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 32-bit, I have installed Ubuntu Restricted Extras, configured Medibuntu, installed Synaptic Package, Adobe Flash Player which came installed with Chromium which is the browser I installed. Also files to play encrypted DVDs. I haven't been able to locate the flashplayer file in /usr/lib folders which I assume should be there. Don't know if this is why I can't see videos at YouTube. Not sure where else to look.
When I'm away from my computer (Windows XP) for more than ~30 minutes, I get locked out, and have to press Ctrl+Alt+Delete to login. I've checked the screensaver settings, and it's not set to lock the screen.
Does anyone know what else could be causing this?
Thanks

Is there a way to convert video, lets say, from .vob to .avi? (and to make it 'smaller', for ex. DVD 4.2 GB to .avi file of 700 MB)

I have my system set up so that I do not need to double click on an item to open it. However, I find that items are selected when I move over them swiftly. This is a problem when I want to save a file and inadvertently pass over another file name. It immediately gets selected.
Is there a way to delay this selection for, say, a second so that they are not selected so quickly?
Thanks.
