  • jQuery: Apply css to image on click event

    - by DasRakel
    I want basically the same as http://stackoverflow.com/questions/530701/jquery-select-image a row of images that you can select one of. But I'm trying to style the one I select, and store it. var selectedicon = ""; function selecticon(){ $('#iconselect').children().click(function(){ $(".selectedicon").removeclass("selectedicon"); selectedicon = $(this).attr("src"); $(this).addclass("selectedicon"); }); } on this <div id="iconselect"> <img src="/red-dot.png" class="selectedicon" /> <img src="/green-dot.png" /> <img src="/blue-dot.png" /> <img src="/orange-dot.png" /> </div> What am I doing wrong?

  • advanced css: top and bottom with flexible centre

    - by Haroldo
    is it possible with just css2 to have the following: all the content to be in the flexible div.mid section overlap the top and bottom parts not fussed about ie6 here's the photoshop with centre slice: as you can see the top and bottom parts are quite large and i need to overlap them from the middle slice... Please dont misunderstand here, i understand how to make a flexible central div, the complexity is in the overlapping of the top and bottom while the mid div remains flexible. I imagine it requires either negative margins or absolutely position top and bottoms elements with z-index..

  • Add Many-to-Many Entity Framework

    - by tomcamara
    I've got a question: I have 3 tables: Users Menu UserMenu UserMenu contains IdMenu and IdUser. In My DataModel Entity Framework 4.0, I'm filling my User Model and filling User.Menu (Menu is Navigation Properties) with an existing Menu of my table Menu. I have to save User and Save each related menu item in UserMenu table. I get the following exception: The ObjectStateManager does not contain an ObjectStateEntry with a reference to an object of type 'SGGED.Model.Menu'. Code Users objUser = new Users(); objUser.name = itemUsers.name.Trim(); objUser.email = itemUsers.email.Trim(); objUser.password = Util.HashString("12345"); objUser.effdt = DateTime.Now; objData.Users.AddObject(objUser); foreach (var itemMenu in itemUsers.Menu) { objData.ObjectStateManager.ChangeObjectState(itemMenu, EntityState.Unchanged); } affRows = objData.SaveChanges(); Whats the way to handle this issue? Best Regards, Miltom Camara

  • What CSS attribute stops my site squidging up?

    - by SLC
    I am looking at a website on the internet with the standard centered box design (the entire site is centered in a box and has a border each side). As you shrink it, the border gets smaller but the content stays the same size. This is fine. However on their site, once you get smaller still, you simply get scrollbars. The content remains untouched. On my site if you do this, things like text and links start to scroll onto multiple lines and the whole site gets broken. How can I keep it the same even when the viewport is small?

  • CSS: Base styles on body or html?

    - by Svish
    When I declare some base styles for my site I have used to do that on the body tag. Like for example body { font-size: medium; line-height: 1.3em; } But I have also seen people do things like that on the html tag. And on both. Where should it be done? Should some be at one and some at the other? Should all be on one of them? Or does it simply not matter at all? Or?

  • CSS Not Centering Container

    - by user269799
    I have a container div. Width: 80%, margin-left: 10% and margin-right 10%. The problem is, the container is displaying to the left in all the browsers I check. If I change the value of margin-left to 20%, it looks ok. I will supply code if necessary but is there anything obviously wrong here? Isn't 80 with a margin of 10 on each side correct to center a div? GF

  • Handling a colon in an element ID in a CSS selector

    - by sblundy
    JSF is setting the ID of an input field to search_form:expression. I need to specify some styling on that element, but that colon looks like the beginning of a pseudo-element to the browser so it gets marked invalid and ignored. Is there anyway to escape the colon or something? input#search_form:expression { ///... }

  • Entity Framework 4 & WCF Data Service: N:M mapping

    - by JJO
    I have three tables in my database: An A table, a B table, and a many-to-many ABMapping table. For simplicity, A and B are keyed with identity columns; ABMapping has just two columns: AId and BId. I built an Entity Framework 4 model from this, and it did correctly identify the N:M mapping between A and B. I then built a WCF Data Service based on this EF model. I'm trying to consume this WCF Data Service. Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to get a mapping between As and Bs to map back to the database. I've tried something like this: A a = new A(); B b = new B(); a.Bs.Add(b); connection.SaveChanges(); But this doesn't seem to have worked. Any clues? What am I missing?

  • Map a property in the entity framework to a different type

    - by Tom
    I have a SQL Server 2008 database. I have a bunch of fields in TableA that are just strings that corresponds to booleans. So every value is either true or false. The edmx I generated using Entity Framework 4.0 has them as strings. This is technically correct but I would like to have them mapped as Booleans instead. Is this possible? If so how can I accomplish this? Thanks much!

  • Skeleton framework spacing

    - by user1745014
    I tried to ask this question late lastnight but I was so sleepy i typed the question completely wrong. I'm looking to float my navigation to the right of its current position around 200px more, there is room but it wont move over. You can view the live code here - www.xronn.co.uk/hosting and here is an image to explain my issue a little more http://i.stack.imgur.com/JtL0C.png purple lines the 960px width of the site blue line shows the space free for the navigation to go and the red arrows of course shows which direction i want the navigation to go in (the right) Anyone got any clue why when I push to more to the right, the list starts to sit under each other

  • Do more specific css rules load better?

    - by bobobobo
    You can do this: .info { padding: 5px ; } Or, if you know it will be a div, you can do this div.info { padding: 5px ; } So, when there's a nested list.. you can do this.. div.info ul.navbar li.navitem a.sitelink { color: #f00; } Or you can do this a.sitelink { color: #f00; } Readability aside, which is better for the browser to parse/run?

  • CSS: Fixed background images taller than the browser viewport

    - by jj_aa
    I've got a large photo (940x1210) as the background image for a #page div which wraps around all the content on a site. Since the photo is a headshot, it looks pretty silly tiled, so I've set it not to repeat, and positioned it at 0,0. When the content enclosed by #page is taller than 1210px and the background image is set to scroll, the photo scrolls out of view, but if it's fixed, only the part of the image displayed initially in the browser viewport shows up- either the top half (fixed top left) or bottom half (fixed bottom left). Here's the question: how can I fix the background image to the bottom of #page (or the body) while scrolling through the full height of the image until I get to the bottom?

  • CSS Rule Priorities

    - by Antilogic
    Given the following mark-up... <div id="Header"> <a href="#" class="Highlight">foo</a> </div> And the following stylesheet... /******************Exceptions******************/ #Footer, #Header, #Footer a, #Header a { color: #f8f8f8; } /******************Classes******************/ .Highlight, a.Highlight { color: #B1D355; } .Notification, a.Notification { color: Red; } Why is my link still off-white (F8F8F8) rather than green (B1D355)? Shouldn't using the class Highlight override the color settings for Header and Footer since it comes after their declarations?

  • Entity Framework Security

    - by NYSystemsAnalyst
    In my organization, we are just beginning to use the Entity Framework for some applications. In the past, we have pushed developers to utilize stored procedures for all database access. In addition to helping with SQL injection, we tried to grant logins access to stored procedures only to keep security relatively tight. Although inserting, updating, and deleting are easily done through stored procedures in the EF, it appears to be difficult to use stored procedures to query data with EF. However, using LINQ or Entity SQL and allowing EF to create the queries means giving a user read access to the entire database. How have others handled this dilemma?

  • CSS backgroung color is differnt in IE vs FF

    - by Mike Ozark
    In FF it works like intended (puts light transparent ribbon on the bottom of the image for caption). But in IE it's totally black (caption does show) .caption { z-index:30; position:absolute; bottom:-35px; left:0; height:30px; padding:5px 20px 0 20px; background:#000; background:rgba(0,0,0,.5); width:300px; font-size:1.0em; line-height:1.33; color:#fff; border-top:1px solid #000; text-shadow:none; }
