  Good Day, I need to determine which version of Microsoft Excel is installed on a Windows PC. I'm working with Apache POI but can't figure out an easy way to do this. Anyone know if Apache POI has a built in functionality to do this? Any ideas how to do this using Java code? Thanks in advance.

I am facing a problem, when i have a record inserted in sql CE and it needs to upload on sql 2008 with uploadonly direction. The server sync process gives clientInsertServerInsert conflict and it is impossible that server can add new row to this table. Anybody have idea.

  I am resonably experienced with asp.net and would like to learn a new language with a focus on web development. Licensing and hosting costs are why I would like to use something not reliant on microsoft so something based on open source technologies is a plus. I have had a tiny bit of experience with php and did not like it but I guess I could be convinced otherwise. Basically I'd like to know peoples opinion on the the best language for future web development with regards to longivity, resources, frameworks, hosting etc.

  Hi, im connecting to dBase from java with this string: String url="jdbc:odbc:DRIVER={Microsoft dBase Driver (*.dbf)};DBQ="+databasePath+";DefaultDir="+databasePath+";DriverId=533;FIL=dBase IV;MaxBufferSize=2048;PageTimeout=5;"; Work fine, but with a SELECT statement i can retrieve only record that are not "deleted". In dBase database deletet record are only flagged deleted, so i want retrive deleted record too. Is this possibile? Thank.

  I need to create a Microsoft Access database, but have a need, in one of my tables, for a single field to be strongly encrypted. Since AES requires both a key and an initialization vector, I've decided to solve this problem by requiring a password to access the database (as the key), and a field in the table to hold a SHA1 hash of the plaintext of the encrypted field. Does anyone know where I can find VBA-compatible code to actually do the encryption?

  I need to count words in a string using PHP or Javascript (preferably PHP). The problem is that the counting needs to be the same as it works in Microsoft Word, because that is where the people assemble their original texts in so that is their reference frame. PHP has a word counting function (http://php.net/manual/en/function.str-word-count.php) but that is not 100% the same as far as I know. Any pointers?
