    Hi Guys I have this Table I need to replace the First Letter in ACCT_NAME with the First Name of ACCT_SHORT_NAME. Records like the Higliighted(RAFFMAN) should not be changed. I have tried: select acct_name, ACCT_SHORT_NAME,replace(acct_name, substr(acct_name, 1, 1), ACCT_SHORT_NAME) from tbaadm.gam where schm_type = 'TDA' and rcre_user_id = 'SYSTEM' and substr(acct_name,2,1) = ' ' I am getting: This means that am Picking the whole value in ACCT_SHORT_NAME. WHat is the best way to do what am trying to do?

    First off, I know the title is generic and not fitting. I just couldn't think of a title that could describe my problem. I have a table Recipients in MySQL structured like this: id | email | status 1 foo@bar S 2 bar@baz S 3 abc@def R 4 sta@cko B I need to convert the data into the following XML, depending on the status field. For example: <Recipients> <RecipientsSent> <!-- Have the 'S' status --> <recipient>foo@bar</recipient> <recipient>bar@baz</recipient> </RecipientsSent> <RecipientsRegexError> <recipient>abc@def</recipient> </RecipientsRegexError> <RecipientsBlocked> <recipient>sta@cko</recipient> </RecipientsBlocked> </Recipients> I have this PHP code to implement this ($recipients contains an associative array of the db table): <Recipients> <RecipientsSent> <?php foreach ($recipients as $recipient): if ($recipient['status'] == 'S'): echo "<recipient>" . $recipient['email'] . "</recipient>"; endif; endforeach; ?> </RecipientsSent> <RecipientsRegexError> <?php foreach ($recipients as $recipient): if ($recipient['status'] == 'R'): echo "<recipient>" . $recipient['email'] . "</recipient>"; endif; endforeach; ?> </RecipientsRegexError> <?php /** same loop for the B status */ ?> </Recipients> So, this means that if I have 1000 entries in the table and 4 different status' that can be checked, it means that there will be 4 loops, each one executing 1000 times. How can this be done in a more efficient manner? I thought about fetching four different sets from the database, meaning 4 different queries, would that be more efficient? I'm thinking it could be done with one loop but but I can't come up with a solution. Any way this could be done with only one loop?

    I want to read following file in C++. 000001011100110 100000010101100 001001001001100 110110000000011 000000010110011 011000110101110 111010011011110 011001010010000 I know already how many rows and columns is there in the file. I want to read each integer and store it in a 2-D matrix of ints. Each integers here means 0 is one entry and 1 is another entry. So in this example above there are 15 0's and 1s.

    I have a database of components. Each component is of a specific type. That means there is a many-to-one relationship between a component and a type. When I delete a type, I would like to delete all the components which has a foreign key of that type. But if I'm not mistaken, cascade delete will delete the type when the component is deleted. Is there any way to do what I described?

  • Android: ScoreNinja is only displaying 1 highscore....

    Hi All, I am trying to implement ScoreNinja into one of my apps. It all seems to work, but when I submit a score it replaces the current #1 score with any that I supply, even it is lower. This means that only one score is ever displayed. Anyone got any idea what I'm doing wrong? I have e-mailed the dev but he/they haven't responded. Thanks in advance for any info on this, most appreciated! Dave B

    I'm building an firebug-like inspection tool for my page. When the mouse enters an element, the element should be highlighted. Now I'm creating an element which I position absolute on top of the target element, this however means the next mousemove event (which is bound to the document) will fire with the actual "highlight element" as the target. Is there a way to prevent the "highlight element" from being the target element in the mousemove event? The element already has a transparant background.

    I got a Type whose FullName is (if this helps) : "System.Collections.ObjectModel.ObservableCollection`1[[System.String, mscorlib, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089]]" From that Type, I'd like to get "System.Collections.ObjectModel.ObservableCollection" as a string but I'd like to do it "cleanly", which means, without spliting the string with the char '`'. I think the strategy is to get something like a Type or something else whose FullName will be "System.Collections.ObjectModel.ObservableCollection" but I really don't manage to do it :/

What's the best way for me to get the string back? I've tried using a ScrollView with a LinearLayout child, and putting my ListViews in the LinearView, but all of the ListViews lock to a fixed height with scroll bars. Using other kinds of Layouts means no scrolling.

    I have a bunch of boolean options for things like "accepted payment types" which can include things like cash, credit card, cheque, paypal, etc. Rather than having a half dozen booleans in my DB, I can just use an integer and assign each payment method an integer, like so PAYMENT_METHODS = ( (1<<0, 'Cash'), (1<<1, 'Credit Card'), (1<<2, 'Cheque'), (1<<3, 'Other'), ) and then query the specific bit in python to retrieve the flag. I know this means the database can't index by specific flags, but are there any other drawbacks?

    I'm working on a college exercise and have the following question: What is the domain of the "country" table? My understanding of domain is that it defines the possible values of an attribute. This means that the table "country" doesn't have a domain, but the various attributes in the table "country" have their own domains. For example the attribute "SurfaceArea" has the domain FLOAT(10,2) and the attribute "Name" has the domain CHAR(52). Is this correct?

I want matlab to download the historical data for last 5 years for each stock ticker into a separate xls spreadsheet and save it in a given directory with title of the sheet = ticker. So that means i want a code that will create and save 500 tickers worth of data in 500 separate spreadhseets :) can anyone help or direct?

    I have an object, 'Response' that has a property called 'submitter'. Submitters can be one of several different classes including Student, Teacher, etc... I would like to be able to execute a criteria query where I select only responses submitted by teachers - so this means putting a class restriction on an associated entity. Any ideas on this? I'd like to stay away from direct SQL or HQL.
