• Getting DateTimeOffset value form SQL 2008 to C#

  I have a SQL 2008 table with a field called RecDate of type DateTimeOffset. For a given record the value is '2010-04-01 17:19:23.62 -05:00' In C# I create a DataTable and fill it with the results of "SELECT RecDate FROM MyTable". I need to get the milliseconds, but if I do the following the milliseconds are always 0: DateTimeOffset dto = DateTimeOffset.Parse(dt.Rows[0][0].ToString()); What is the proper way to get the value in the RecDate column into the dto variable? • Why can't I read session variables

  I have a c# .net web application. I create session variables but when I try to read them after I leave the page that they were created from I can't. Created on page 1 Session["UserName"] = "WhatEver"; Then I do Response.Redirect("~/whatever.aspx"); and try to read to read the session variable in the Page_Load method of the new page string userName = Session["UserName"].ToString(); I receive "Object reference not set to an instance of an object." Why am I receiving this error and what can I do to fix the problem? I would greatly appreciate any help anyone can give me.

How I can remove the time part from value. I know we can use this method dateTimePicker1.Value.ToShortDateString(); but I want to set the value property to this format "dd/MM/yyyy" so the output will be like this "26/3/2010", because I want to store the value in my DB (SQL) How I can do that?

• Textbox is disabled after adding text dynamically in codebehind

  Can't quite work out what is happening but The background is that I am dynamically adding table rows in a web page and some of the cells hold controls such as dropdowns etc. One of the columns pulls a size into it. However the column I am having issues with is the next column which takes the text from teh previous dropdown and shows the appropriate price. On doing htis however the textbox which is being created appears to turn into a label as I cannot select or adjust the text that has been put in there. var gotPrice =(from a in getPrice.Sizes where a.Size1 == Size.SelectedValue select a).First(); TextBox Price = new TextBox(); Price.Width = 100; PriceField.Controls.Add(Price); PriceField.Text = gotPrice.RackRate.ToString(); I have tried then calling .Enabled but still the text box is not editable. any help appreciated.

  I created an enum where I stored some table names. Now I have not created any object of this enum so that no one can use it for other than read only purpose. For this enum to be accessible in outer classes as well I have to make it public which means some outer class can create its object as well. So what can i do so as to restrict its object creation.

• Can't set element ID in JavaScript, it's always undefined

  Hi, I want to have a function that generates ID's on the fly for a given jquery object, if it doesn't have one already. These ID's should then be used in future requests. I came up with the code below, but it doesn't work. The ID's are never set. The commented out alert statement below always return undefined. I always pass code like $(this) or $(options.el) as a parameter to substitute 'el'. Initially, the elements do not have explicitly ID set in HTML. • .Net - interop assemblies taking 15 seconds to load when being referenced in a function

  This is a C# console application. I have a function that does something like this: static void foo() { Application powerpointApp; Presentation presentation = null; powerpointApp = new Microsoft.Office.Interop.PowerPoint.ApplicationClass(); } That's all it does. When it is called there is a fifteen second delay before the function gets hit. I added something like this: static void MyAssemblyLoadEventHandler(object sender, AssemblyLoadEventArgs args) { Console.WriteLine(DateTime.Now.ToString() + " ASSEMBLY LOADED: " + args.LoadedAssembly.FullName); Console.WriteLine(); } This gets fired telling me that my interop assemblies have been loaded about 10 milliseconds before my foo function gets hit. What can I do about this? The program needs to call this function (and eventually do something else) once and then exit so I need for these assemblies to be cached or something. Ideas?

  I have a user control (ascx) that I have added two public properties to: RequestTypeId and GroupId. Both have the attribute set. In my aspx page, I have a ListView, and in the ItemTemplate, I place my control reference, like so: <ctrl:ServiceTypeGroup runat="server" RequestTypeId="<%#RequestType.RequestTypeId%>" GroupId='<%#Eval("Id").ToString()%>' /> Setting the RequestTypeId works fine. Setting the GroupId fails with the following error: "Databinding methods such as Eval(), XPath(), and Bind() can only be used in the context of a databound control." What do I need to do to my user control code to allow binding a Eval() expression to one of its properties? Or is it not possible?
