How to make maintenance document for a website? I've created a site using XHTML ,CSS, jQuery etc. it's big site.
Now i have to write a maintenance document for a site for if any changes comes in future related to design, content and functionality then those things will be handled by someone else.
How and what should i keep in maintenance document.
this code
var tip = "<p class="adobe-reader-download">Most computers will open PDF documents automatically, but you may need to download <a title='Link to Adobe website-opens in a new window'";
tip +=" href='http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html' target='_blank'>Adobe Reader</a>.</p>";
if($("div#maincontent a[href*='.pdf']").length>0){
$("div#maincontent").children(":last-child").after(tip);
works fine with this
<script
src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.3.2/jquery.min.js"
type="text/javascript"></script>
but not working with this
<script
type="text/jscript"
src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.4.2/jquery.min.js">
</script>
Is it good to add line-height in body{line-height:1.5} or it would be better if i add separately for tag by tag like p{ line height:1em} etc.
Edit:
body {line-height:in em} create problem with if we put image with float inside
Edit: 24 April 2010:
If i have to add different line heights to elements
like
p { 1.4}
h1 {1.6}
h2 { 1.2}
ul li { 1.1}
then shouldn't i use line height in body { 1.4}
if body { 1.4} and h1 {1.6} then what would be line height for h1?
like
img { background-color:color: color matched to the theme}
or
img { background-image:url (a very very tiny gif image with the text "image loading") }
I'm thinking in the benefit of this when user access site on slow connection then background color will give clue about something is there which is diffrent than text content..
What is the usefulness of these 2 things in CSS reset?
What is the problem in resizing of input elements in IE and in which version?
and if legend color doesn't inherit in IE then how it can be solved adding color:#000;
/*to enable resizing for IE*/
input,
textarea,
select {
*font-size:100%;
}
/*because legend doesn't inherit in IE */
legend {
color:#000;
}

How to give style to <thead> only, not to <th>?
Why border of th not showing
http://jsfiddle.net/r8mA7/
<table>
<thead style="border-top:10px solid red; background:yellow">
<tr><th style="border-top:10px solid green">Name</th></tr>
</thead>
<tbody>
<tr><td>Bob</td></tr>
<tr><td>Tom</td></tr>
</tbody>
</table>
Why border of tfoot tr:first-child not showing in IE. I'm checking in IE7.
font-weight:bold; background:yellow is showing in IE but border not
table {
border-collapse: collapse;
border-spacing: 0;
}
table tfoot tr:first-child
{font-weight:bold;
background:yellow;
border-top:2px solid red;
border-bottom:2px solid red;}
If We are using table for to show tabular data and if we would give width and height to <table> then will it load quickly? will page loading speed improved of table?

What is Logically correct and W3C valid way to clear float?
zoom:1 is not valid by W3C and IE8 don't have hash layout problem
overflow:hidden and overflow:hidden
were not made to do this,as the spec
intended overflow to be used
<div class="clear"/> is not
semantically correct and i don't want to add extra markup.
clearfix hack generates content that
really hasn’t any semantic value.
I've asked many questions and read many articles on this issue but haven't find best way.
what are cons to use relative values em and % for fonts, What is rounding problem? and how to avoid/solve rounding problem. Is there any calculator?
How to use relative values as easy as we use px
How to reduce gap between two display:inline items?
gap is showing on all browser?
ul.tabs li {
display:inline;
margin:0 padding:0;}
I can fix the problem using float:left in the LI elements but I need
to understand why it's happening.
Are all fonts size would be same with same value?
