    Hi, I tried to search posts, but I only found solutions for SQL Server/Access. I need a solution to MYSQL (5.X). I have a table with 3 columns: hostid, itemname, itemvalue. If I do a select, it will return 1 A 10 1 B 3 2 A 9 2 C 40 How do I query the database to return something like A B C 1 10 3 2 9 40

    Hi Guys, I need to work out a period of 6 months (backwards) from a given date. Example date: 07/06/2010 00:00:00 needs to count back 6 months and display: 07/12/2009 00:00:00 I have been scanning through: http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.1/en/date-and-time-functions.html and non of these functions make sense to me :( Hope this makes sense and any help would be appriciated. The notifications have been updated successfully.<p>"; echo "<p><span style='font-size: 12px;'> <a onClick=\"history.go(-1)\" class='form'>Return</a></p> <p></span> "; exit; }; ?> after doing some research i learnt that the only way to insert multiple radio values into the MYSQL table is to use arrays. there was a similar question raised somewhere on this site: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1656260/php-multiple-radio-buttons that recommended using a foreach loop. use a foreach loop <?php foreach ( $_POST as $key => $val ) echo "$key -> $val\n"; ?> $key will be the name of the selected option and $val, well, the value. how would this apply to my situation as i am struggling to find any help on the internet. i understand that i would use this on the processing page to pull out any radio values from the previous page and then loop the INSERT MYSQL code within the process until it was all done. any advice would be appreciated! Any idea how to write this query for a MySQL database?

    I have a mysql database with 60 tables most of the tables have primary keys (expect pivot tables) all these primary keys had the attribute AUTO INCREMENT Then over night some how all the primary keys had that attribute removed, and the default value set to 0. I have no idea how this may have been caused. Any suggestions?

  • Selecting a column that is also a keyword in MySQL

    For some reason, the developers at a new company I'm working for decided to name their columns "ignore" and "exists". Now when I run MySQL queries with those words in the where clause, I get a syntax error; however, I can't seem to figure out how to reference those columns without running into an error. I tried setting them as strings, but that doesn't make any sense. Help? Also, is there a term for this kind of mismatch?

To select all people with last names starting with a particular letter, let's say A for this example, I use the following query: SELECT * FROM db WHERE Name LIKE '% A%'. However, this also selects users who have a middle name starting with A. Is there anyway to alter this query so that only a last name starting in A will be selected?
