  • C#: How to replace "-" with " -" only when it's not preceded by "e"?

    - by MaDDoX
    I imagine I should use Regex for that but I still scratch my head a lot about it (and the only similar question I found wasn't exactly my case) so I decided to ask for help. This is the input and expected output: Input: "c-0.68219,-0.0478 -1.01455-0.0441 0.2321e-4,0.43212" Output:"c -0.68219,-0.0478 -1.01455 -0.0441 0.2321e-4,0.43212" Basically I need either commas or spaces as value separators, but I can't break the exponential index (e-4). Maybe do two successive replacements?

  • Eclipse BIRT - XHTML output

    - by Etienne
    Is there a way to set BIRT to output a report as XHTML (1.0 Transitional would be fine) instead of HTML? I did a few tests and there are some elements that are not valid:head does not include a title, html must have a namespace (xmlns) attribute Is this functionality supported at all by BIRT?

  • Local and global variables in javascript

    - by caramel1991
    Today,I started to code a page that prompt the user to choose their PC spec,and the code is as follow <html> <title>Computer Specification Chooser</title> <head> <script type="text/javascript"> var compSpec = document.compChooser; function processorUnavailable_onclick() { alert("Sorry that processor speed is currently unavailable"); compSpec.processor[2].checked = true; } </script> </head> <body> <form name="compChooser"> <p>Tick all components you wan included on your computer</p> <p> DVD-ROM <input type="checkbox" name="chkDVD" value="DVD-ROM" /> <br /> CD-ROM <input type="checkbox" name="chkCD" value="CD-ROM" /> <br /> Zip Drive <input type="checkbox" name="chkZIP" value="ZIP DRIVE" /> </p> <p> Select the processor speed you require <br /> <input type="radio" name="processor" value="3.8" /> 3.8 GHZ <input type="radio" name="processor" value="4.8" onclick="processorUnavailable_onclick()" /> 4.8 GHZ <input type="radio" name="processor" value="6" /> 6 GHZ </p> <input type="button" name="btnCheck" value="Check Form" /> </form> </body> </html> The problem I'm facing is on the function that I've tie to the event handler,when I try to choose the radio button of the processor value 4.8 GHZ,yes it alert me with the message inside the function,but after that,it doest not execute the next statement inside the function,that is to check the next processor value 6 GHZ. I've try my effort to change it and test on it,and find out when I set the var compSpec = document.compChooser as a local variable inside the function instead of a global variable,the next statement could be executed. But I thought for a global variable,it is accessible in everywhere on the page and also inside a function.But why now I can't accesses it inside my function??Any idea?? Besides,I stumble upon a weird article while googling,it says that when a global variable is created,it is added to window object.I just curious why this happen??And what's the benefits and uses of it?? THANK YOU

  • Phonegap (Cordova) iOS button click

    - by JNM
    I am trying to create a very simple phone gap application for iOS. I am using query mobile. the problem is, that i can't get javascript event to fire on button click. Code i have now: <!DOCTYPE html> <html> <head> <title>Title</title> <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, minimum-scale=1, maximum-scale=1"> <meta charset="utf-8"> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="js/jquery.mobile-1.2.0.css" /> <script type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8" src="cordova-1.8.1.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8" src="js/jquery-1.8.2.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8" src="js/jquery.mobile-1.2.0.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> document.addEventListener("deviceready", onDeviceReady, false); function onDeviceReady() { } function showAlert() { navigator.notification.alert("Cordova is working"); } </script> </head> <body> <div data-role="page" id="options" data-add-back-btn="true" data-back-btn-text="Atgal"> <div data-role="header" data-position="fixed"> <h1>Title</h1> </div> <div data-role="content"> <h1>Alert</h1> <p><a href="#" onclick="showAlert(); return false;" data-role="button">Show alert</a></p> </div> </div> </body> </html> I tried multiple solutions to fix my problem, but none of them works. When have button with # in href, it doesn't event change the color on click. When i add url, it changes color. But it never call javascript function. Another problem is, that document.addEventListener("deviceready", onDeviceReady, false); works only in the index page. If i press button in initial page which redirects to another page, OnDeviceReady function is never called. Anybody has any ideas?

  • Linked List manipulation, issues retrieving data c++

    - by floatfil
    I'm trying to implement some functions to manipulate a linked list. The implementation is a template typename T and the class is 'List' which includes a 'head' pointer and also a struct: struct Node { // the node in a linked list T* data; // pointer to actual data, operations in T Node* next; // pointer to a Node }; Since it is a template, and 'T' can be any data, how do I go about checking the data of a list to see if it matches the data input into the function? The function is called 'retrieve' and takes two parameters, the data and a pointer: bool retrieve(T target, T*& ptr); // This is the prototype we need to use for the project "bool retrieve : similar to remove, but not removed from list. If there are duplicates in the list, the first one encountered is retrieved. Second parameter is unreliable if return value is false. E.g., " Employee target("duck", "donald"); success = company1.retrieve(target, oneEmployee); if (success) { cout << "Found in list: " << *oneEmployee << endl; } And the function is called like this: company4.retrieve(emp3, oneEmployee) So that when you cout *oneEmployee, you'll get the data of that pointer (in this case the data is of type Employee). (Also, this is assuming all data types have the apropriate overloaded operators) I hope this makes sense so far, but my issue is in comparing the data in the parameter and the data while going through the list. (The data types that we use all include overloads for equality operators, so oneData == twoData is valid) This is what I have so far: template <typename T> bool List<T>::retrieve(T target , T*& ptr) { List<T>::Node* dummyPtr = head; // point dummy pointer to what the list's head points to for(;;) { if (*dummyPtr->data == target) { // EDIT: it now compiles, but it breaks here and I get an Access Violation error. ptr = dummyPtr->data; // set the parameter pointer to the dummy pointer return true; // return true } else { dummyPtr = dummyPtr->next; // else, move to the next data node } } return false; } Here is the implementation for the Employee class: //-------------------------- constructor ----------------------------------- Employee::Employee(string last, string first, int id, int sal) { idNumber = (id >= 0 && id <= MAXID? id : -1); salary = (sal >= 0 ? sal : -1); lastName = last; firstName = first; } //-------------------------- destructor ------------------------------------ // Needed so that memory for strings is properly deallocated Employee::~Employee() { } //---------------------- copy constructor ----------------------------------- Employee::Employee(const Employee& E) { lastName = E.lastName; firstName = E.firstName; idNumber = E.idNumber; salary = E.salary; } //-------------------------- operator= --------------------------------------- Employee& Employee::operator=(const Employee& E) { if (&E != this) { idNumber = E.idNumber; salary = E.salary; lastName = E.lastName; firstName = E.firstName; } return *this; } //----------------------------- setData ------------------------------------ // set data from file bool Employee::setData(ifstream& inFile) { inFile >> lastName >> firstName >> idNumber >> salary; return idNumber >= 0 && idNumber <= MAXID && salary >= 0; } //------------------------------- < ---------------------------------------- // < defined by value of name bool Employee::operator<(const Employee& E) const { return lastName < E.lastName || (lastName == E.lastName && firstName < E.firstName); } //------------------------------- <= ---------------------------------------- // < defined by value of inamedNumber bool Employee::operator<=(const Employee& E) const { return *this < E || *this == E; } //------------------------------- > ---------------------------------------- // > defined by value of name bool Employee::operator>(const Employee& E) const { return lastName > E.lastName || (lastName == E.lastName && firstName > E.firstName); } //------------------------------- >= ---------------------------------------- // < defined by value of name bool Employee::operator>=(const Employee& E) const { return *this > E || *this == E; } //----------------- operator == (equality) ---------------- // if name of calling and passed object are equal, // return true, otherwise false // bool Employee::operator==(const Employee& E) const { return lastName == E.lastName && firstName == E.firstName; } //----------------- operator != (inequality) ---------------- // return opposite value of operator== bool Employee::operator!=(const Employee& E) const { return !(*this == E); } //------------------------------- << --------------------------------------- // display Employee object ostream& operator<<(ostream& output, const Employee& E) { output << setw(4) << E.idNumber << setw(7) << E.salary << " " << E.lastName << " " << E.firstName << endl; return output; } I will include a check for NULL pointer but I just want to get this working and will test it on a list that includes the data I am checking. Thanks to whoever can help and as usual, this is for a course so I don't expect or want the answer, but any tips as to what might be going wrong will help immensely!

  • jQuery UI problem: why do the elements go flying around the screen?

    - by George Edison
    Yes, I know the title sounds a little suspicious. I will try to explain this the best I can... The code below is supposed to have the blue div slide down beside the red div. The first time you hit the Show the div button, it works. Also, the Hide the div works. Then when I click to show the div again, it appears to the right of where it is supposed to be! Why is this?!? Note: You can find a live example of the code here <html> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en"> <head> <title>Demo</title> <style type='text/css'> #red { background-color: red; width: 200px; height: 150px; position: absolute; } #blue { background-color: blue; width: 150px; height: 200px; position: absolute; display: none; } #tester_1 { top: 300px; left: 300px; position: absolute; } #tester_2 { top: 350px; left: 300px; position: absolute; } </style> </head> <script type="text/javascript" src="jquery.js"></script> <script type='text/javascript'> function Show() { $('#blue').position({ of: $('#red'), my: 'left top', at: 'right top'}).slideDown(); } function Hide() { $('#blue').hide(); } </script> <body> <div id='red'></div> <div id='blue'></div> <button id='tester_1' onclick='Show()'>Show the <kbd>div</kbd></button> <button id='tester_2' onclick='Hide()'>Hide the <kbd>div</kbd></button> </body> </html>

  • Correct way to create a menu with shortcuts in WPF

    - by mattdekrey
    What is the correct/best way to create a menu with hotkey shortcuts? I simply want a File menu like Visual Studio's that has New, Open, Save, Save All, Exit, and a few other standard shortcuts. It seems that InputGestureText displays the appropriate text, but since it's called "Text" and doesn't seem to trigger events, I'm going to assume that isn't the right way to do it. The Command architecture also seems fairly bulky, so I don't want to head down that path if there is a better way.

  • Arrow in nav menus in CSS/JS (e.g. playframework.org)

    - by manmal
    The navigation menu at the top of the www.playframework.org site features a small arrow pointing upward for the currently selected section (Home, Learn, Download,...). I tried to get behind the implementation they used, but I can't wrap my head around it - the resource does not show up in Chrome's Resources window, and an inspection of the elements did not show any signs of a background image, nor a JS interceptor (although I might have missed that). What in hellhound's name is going on there? :)

  • Local Variables take 7x longer to access than global variables?

    - by ItzWarty
    I was trying to benchmark the gain/loss of "caching" math.floor, in hopes that I could make calls faster. Here was the test: <html> <head> <script> window.onload = function() { var startTime = new Date().getTime(); var k = 0; for(var i = 0; i < 1000000; i++) k += Math.floor(9.99); var mathFloorTime = new Date().getTime() - startTime; startTime = new Date().getTime(); window.mfloor = Math.floor; k = 0; for(var i = 0; i < 1000000; i++) k += window.mfloor(9.99); var globalFloorTime = new Date().getTime() - startTime; startTime = new Date().getTime(); var mfloor = Math.floor; k = 0; for(var i = 0; i < 1000000; i++) k += mfloor(9.99); var localFloorTime = new Date().getTime() - startTime; document.getElementById("MathResult").innerHTML = mathFloorTime; document.getElementById("globalResult").innerHTML = globalFloorTime; document.getElementById("localResult").innerHTML = localFloorTime; }; </script> </head> <body> Math.floor: <span id="MathResult"></span>ms <br /> var mathfloor: <span id="globalResult"></span>ms <br /> window.mathfloor: <span id="localResult"></span>ms <br /> </body> </html> My results from the test: [Chromium 5.0.308.0]: Math.floor: 49ms var mathfloor: 271ms window.mathfloor: 40ms [IE 8.0.6001.18702] Math.floor: 703ms var mathfloor: 9890ms [LOL!] window.mathfloor: 375ms [Firefox [Minefield] 3.7a4pre] Math.floor: 42ms var mathfloor: 2257ms window.mathfloor: 60ms [Safari 4.0.4[531.21.10] ] Math.floor: 92ms var mathfloor: 289ms window.mathfloor: 90ms [Opera 10.10 build 1893] Math.floor: 500ms var mathfloor: 843ms window.mathfloor: 360ms [Konqueror 4.3.90 [KDE 4.3.90 [KDE 4.4 RC1]]] Math.floor: 453ms var mathfloor: 563ms window.mathfloor: 312ms The variance is random, of course, but for the most part In all cases [this shows time taken]: [takes longer] mathfloor Math.floor window.mathfloor [is faster] Why is this? In my projects i've been using var mfloor = Math.floor, and according to my not-so-amazing benchmarks, my efforts to "optimize" actually slowed down the script by ALOT... Is there any other way to make my code more "efficient"...? I'm at the stage where i basically need to optimize, so no, this isn't "premature optimization"...

  • Jetty servlet respons to Ajax always empty

    - by chris
    Hi I try to run a java server on Jetty which should respond to an ajax call. Unfortunately the response seems to be empty when I call it with ajax. When I call http://localhost:8081/?id=something I get an answer. The Java Server: public class Answer extends AbstractHandler { public void handle(String target, Request baseRequest, HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response) throws IOException, ServletException { String id = request.getParameter("id"); response.setContentType("text/xml"); response.setHeader("Cache-Control", "no-cache"); response.setContentLength(19+id.length()); response.setStatus(HttpServletResponse.SC_OK); response.getWriter().write("<message>"+id+"</message>"); //response.setContentType("text/html;charset=utf-8"); response.flushBuffer(); baseRequest.setHandled(true); } public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception { Server server = new Server(8081); server.setHandler(new Answer()); server.start(); server.join(); } } The js and html: <html> <head> <script> var req; function validate() { var idField = document.getElementById("userid"); var url = "validate?id=" + encodeURIComponent(idField.value); if (typeof XMLHttpRequest != "undefined") { req = new XMLHttpRequest(); } else if (window.ActiveXObject) { req = new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP"); } req.open("GET", "http://localhost:8081?id=fd", true); req.onreadystatechange = callback; req.send(null); } function callback() { if (req.readyState == 4) { if (req.status == 200) { var message = req.responseXML.getElementsByTagName("message")[0]; document.getElementById("userid").innerHTML = "message.childNodes[0].nodeValue"; } } } </script> </head> <body onload="validate('foobar')"> <div id="userid">hannak</div> </body> </html> I'm actually don't know what I'm doing wrong here. Maybe someone has a good idea. greetings chris

  • Bug in Safari: options.length = 0; not working as expected in Safari 4

    - by Stefan
    This is not a real question, but rather an answer to save some others the hassle of tracking this nasty bug down. I wasted hours finding this out. When using options.length = 0; to reset all options of a select element in safari, you can get mixed results depending on wether you have the Web Inspector open or not. If the web inspector is open you use myElement.options.length = 0; and after that query the options.length(), you might get back 1 instead of 0 (expected) but only if the Web Inspector is open (which is often the case when debugging problem like this). Workaround: Close the Web Inspector or call myElement.options.length = 0; twice like so: myElement.options.length = 0; myElement.options.length = 0; Testcase: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/strict.dtd"> <html> <head> <title>Testcase</title> <script type="text/javascript" language="javascript" charset="utf-8"> function test(el){ var el = document.getElementById("sel"); alert("Before calling options.length=" + el.options.length); el.options.length = 0; alert("After calling options.length=" + el.options.length); } </script> </head> <body onLoad="test();"> <p> Make note of the numbers displayed in the Alert Dialog, then open Web inspector, reload this page and compare the numbers. </p> <select id="sel" multiple> <option label="a----------" value="a"></option> <option label="b----------" value="b"></option> <option label="c----------" value="c"></option> </select> </body> </html>

  • Eclipse javascript character encoding

    - by Bardock
    Hi, I'd like to display some language specific characters from javascript but I can't. My app is a Java webapp and the front end is jQuery. All the characters that are sended from the server - in a JSP or with AJAX - are displayed properly. When I want to display some text hardcoded in to the javascript file it's broken. I'm using Eclipse. In the JSP's header I use: <%@ page language="java" contentType="text/html; charset=UTF-8" pageEncoding="UTF-8"%> I've tried this (charset in the script element) too: <script type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"><c:import url="/JS/mainJS.js" /></script> In my Eclipse I've set the project properties / text file encoding to UTF-8 AND I've checked the JS files' resource properties / text file encoding that is UTF-8 too. But when I try this: $.test = function(){ var s = "éééáááuuuu"; alert(s); } I get: éééáááűűűű The strange thing is that: When I try in a separate html file (in the same project), It's working: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd"> <html> <head> <title>Test</title> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.4.2/jquery.min.js"></script> <style type="text/css"> body {background: #c0c0c0;} </style> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function(){ var s = "éááuuúúú"; $("#console").text(s); alert(s); }) </script> </head> <body> <div id="console"></div> </body> </html> Even if I DO NOT use any content type and page encoding settings. What is the problem? What shall I do? (I'm using Apache Tomcat integrated in Eclipse) Thanks in advance!

  • How to "grep" out specific lline ranges of a file

    - by Mike
    There are often times I'll grep -l whatev file to find what I'm looking for. Say the output is 1234: whatev 1 5555: whatev 2 6643: whatev 3 If I want to then just extract the lines between 1234 and 5555, is there a tool to do that? For static files I have a script that does wc -l of the file and then does the math to split it out with tail & head but that doesn't work out so well with log files that are constantly being written to.

  • Make a table start on the same line as header

    I am trying to get a table of icons appear on the same line as the header. In the HTML below, the icons appear on a separate line. • JavaScript Coding for Finding Shipping Total

    - by user2913279
    I am having a very hard time with this code. I have been working on it for days and cannot seem to figure it out. Please help!! Here are the specific I need for the code: Many companies normally charge a shipping and handling charge for purchases. Create a Web page that allows a user to enter a purchase price into a text box and includes a JavaScript function that calculates shipping and handling. Add functionality to the script that adds a minimum shipping and handling charge of $1.50 for any purchase that is less than or equal to $25.00. For any orders over $25.00, add 10% to the total purchase price for shipping and handling, but do not include the $1.50 minimum shipping and handling charge. The formula for calculating a percentage is price * percent / 100. For example, the formula for calculating 10% of a $50.00 purchase price is 50 * 10 / 100, which results in a shipping and handling charge of $5.00. After you determine the total cost of the order (purchase plus shipping and handling), display it in an alert dialog box. Here is the code I have: <!DOCTYPE> <head> <title>Calculate Shipping</title> <script type="text/javascript"> function parseInt() { var salesPrice = document.salesForm.Price.value; var minCharge = salesPrice + 1.50; var shipping = salesPrice * 10/100; if (salesPrice <= 25) window.alert('Your sales total including shipping is $' + minCharge); else window.alert('Your sales total including shipping is $' + salesPrice + shipping); } </script> </head> <body> <form name="salesForm"> <div > <p>Enter Your Purchase Price</p> <input type="text" name="Price" /><br /><br /> <input type="button" name="Calculate" value="Calculate Shipping" onclick="parseInt ()" /> </div> </form> </body> </html> Everything works except for the math in the alert box. It will show an incorrect total...

  • How can I create an automatic svn tagging script?

    - by Eran Betzalel
    I want to create a simple script that tags the latest revision to the tags folder, for example: for Trunk directory head revision 114, it will create a tag of this directory to the Tags directory which goes by the name "r114". I don't really care of what scripting language it'll use (as long as it runs on windows). I tried creating such script using SVN CLI tool, but it failed connecting to a SSL repository. How can I achieve that?
