  • Ajax progress with PHP session

    - by FFish
    I have an app that processes images and use jQuery to display progress to the user. I done this with writing to a textfile each time and image is processed and than read this status with a setInterval. Because no images are actually written in the processing (I do it in PHP's memory) I thought a log.txt would be a solution, but I am not sure about all the fopen and fread's. Is this prone to issues? I tried also with PHP sessions, but can't seem to get it to work, I don't get why.. HTML: <a class="download" href="#">request download</a> <p class="message"></p> JS: $('a.download').click(function() { var queryData = {images : ["001.jpg", "002.jpg", "003.jpg"]}; $("p.message").html("initializing..."); var progressCheck = function() { $.get("dynamic-session-progress.php", function(data) { $("p.message").html(data); } ); }; $.post('dynamic-session-process.php', queryData, function(intvalId) { return function(data) { $("p.message").html(data); clearInterval(intvalId); } } (setInterval(progressCheck, 1000)) ); return false; }); process.php: // session_start(); $arr = $_POST['images']; $arr_cnt = count($arr); $filename = "log.txt"; for ($i = 1; $i <= $arr_cnt; $i++) { $content = "processing $val ($i/$arr_cnt)"; $handle = fopen($filename, 'w'); fwrite($handle, $content); fclose($handle); // $_SESSION['counter'] = $content; sleep(3); // to mimic image processing } echo "<a href='#'>download zip</a>"; progress.php: // session_start(); $filename = "log.txt"; $handle = fopen($filename, "r"); $contents = fread($handle, filesize($filename)); fclose($handle); echo $contents; // echo $_SESSION['counter'];

  • How can I declare an object with properties that I will be passing around inside of my function using Typescript?

    - by Marilou
    I've been using the following: var modal = { content: '', form: '', href: '' } But now I have started to use Typescript is there a better way I can declare an object and how can I declare the types of my properties. The reason I am using this object is that it's inside of a function and inside that function I have other functions that set and use the values of the properties. Is this the best way for me to do this or is there another way I could better do this with typescript?

  • JavaScript (via Greasemonkey) failing to set "title" attributes on <a> tags

    - by rjray
    I have the following (fairly) simple JavaScript snippet that I have wired into Greasemonkey. It goes through a page, looks for <a> tags whose href points to tinyurl.com, and adds a "title" attribute that identifies the true destination of the link. Much of the important code comes from an older (unsupported) Greasemonkey script that quits working when the inner component that held the XPath implementation changed. My script: (function() { var providers = new Array(); providers['tinyurl.com'] = function(link, fragment) { // This is mostly taken from the (broken due to XPath component // issues) tinyurl_popup_preview script. link.title = "Loading..."; GM_xmlhttpRequest({ method: 'GET', url: 'http://preview.tinyurl.com/' + fragment, onload: function(res) { var re = res.responseText.match("<blockquote><b>(.+)</b></blockquote>"); if (re) { link.title = re[1].replace(/\<br \/\>/g, "").replace(/&amp;/g, "&"); } else { link.title = "Parsing failed..."; } }, onerror: function() { link.title = "Connection failed..."; } }); }; var uriPattern = /(tinyurl\.com)\/([a-zA-Z0-9]+)/; var aTags = document.getElementsByTagName("a"); for (i = 0; i < aTags.length; i++) { var data = aTags[i].href.match(uriPattern); if (data != null && data.length > 1 && data[2] != "preview") { var source = data[1]; var fragment = data[2]; var link = aTags[i]; aTags[i].addEventListener("mouseover", function() { if (link.title == "") { (providers[source])(link, fragment); } }, false); } } })(); (The reason the "providers" associative array is set up the way it is, is so that I can expand this to cover other URL-shortening services as well.) I have verified that all the various branches of code are being reached correctly, in cases where the link being examined does and does not match the pattern. What isn't happening, is any change to the "title" attribute of the anchor tags. I've watched this via Firebug, thrown alert() calls in left and right, and it just never changes. In a previous iteration all expressions of the form: link.title = "..."; had originally been: link.setAttribute("title", "..."); That didn't work, either. I'm no newbie to JavaScript OR Greasemonkey, but this one has me stumped!

  • Detect *target* file size using JavaScript

    - by noblethrasher
    Hi, Would like to write a script to detect the file size of the target of a link on a web page. Right now I have a function that finds all links to PDF files (i.e. the href ends with '.pdf') and appends the string '[pdf]' to the innerText. I would like to extend it so that I can also append some text advising the user that the target is a large file (e.g. greater than 1MB). Thanks

  • Redirecting users in JSP from within a includes - java syntax error

    - by Mark Hazlett
    Hey everyone, So my setup for my web application is that I have a general header and footer and then I just include them in all my other pages so that all the common elements for all the pages are in a single page. The only problem I'm running into is when I want to redirect the user back to a login page if the "username" session has not already been created. The problem that I"m running into is that I have an if statement at the top of my header.jsp and then I have the else in the footer.jsp and it is giving me a java syntax error. Any ideas? Here is the code I'm referring to... <%@page contentType="text/html" pageEncoding="UTF-8"%> <% if(session.getAttribute("username") != null) { %> <%@ page language="java" contentType="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1" pageEncoding="ISO-8859-1"%> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd"> <html> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1"> <!-- CSS files --> <link rel="stylesheet" href="../CSS/headerStyle.css" type="text/css" media="screen" /> <title>Insert title here</title> </head> <body> <div id="container"> <div id="header"> <div id="headerTitle">Title</div> </div> </div> <%} %> And then here is the footer <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd"> <html> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8"> <link rel="stylesheet" href="../CSS/headerStyle.css" type="text/css" media="screen" /> </head> <body> <div id="footer"></div> </body> </html> <% else { response.sendRedirect("../wa_login/login.jsp"); } %> However it is giving me an error on the else statement because the else doesn't have an if statement because it's in the header file.

  • If innerHTML is evil, then what's a better way change the text of a link?

    - by sanj
    I know innerHTML is supposedly evil, but I think it's the simplest way to change link text. For example: <a id="mylink" href="">click me</a> In JS you can change the text with: document.getElementById("mylink").innerHTML = new_text; And in Prototype/jQuery: $("mylink").innerHTML = new_text; works fine. Otherwise you have to replace all of the child nodes first and then add a text node. Why bother?

  • jQuery: preventdefault does not work

    - by Kent Miller
    I somehow cannot achieve that the a-tag looses its default action when clicking it: <a href="#" class="button dismiss">dismiss</a> $(document).ready(function() { $('.dismiss').click(function(e) { e.preventDefault(); $('#output').empty(); $('#MyUploadForm .button').show(); }); }); When I click the button, the browser window scrolls to the top. What is wrong here?

  • Hoe to convert a JSON array of paths to images stored on a server into a javaScript array to display them? Using AJAX

    - by MichaelF
    I need for html file/ ajax code to take the JSON message and store the PATHS as a javaScript array. Then my buildImage function can display the first image in the array. I'm new to AJAX and believe my misunderstanding lies within the converting of the JSON to Javascript. I'm confused also about if my code creates a JSON array or object or either. I might need also to download a library to my app to understand JSON? Below is a PHP file loading the paths of the images. I believe json ecode is converting the PHP Array in a Json message. <?php include("mysqlconnect.php"); $select_query = "SELECT `ImagesPath` FROM `offerstbl` ORDER by `ImagesId` DESC"; $sql = mysql_query($select_query) or die(mysql_error()); $data = array(); while($row = mysql_fetch_array($sql,MYSQL_BOTH)){ $data[] = $row['ImagesPath']; } echo $images = json_encode($data); ?> Below is the script in is going to be loaded on an Cordova app. <!DOCTYPE html> <html> <head> <link rel="stylesheet" href="css/styles.css"> <link rel="stylesheet" href="css/cascading.css"> <script> function importJson(str) { // console.log(typeof xmlhttp.responseText); if (str=="") { document.getElementById("content").innerHTML=""; return; } if (window.XMLHttpRequest) { // code for IE7+, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari xmlhttp=new XMLHttpRequest(); } else { // code for IE6, IE5 xmlhttp=new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP"); } xmlhttp.onreadystatechange=function() { if (xmlhttp.readyState==4) { //var images = JSON.parse(xmlhttp.responseText); document.getElementById("content").innerHTML=xmlhttp.responseText; } } xmlhttp.open("GET","http://server/content.php"); xmlhttp.send(); } function buildImage(src) { var img = document.createElement('img') img.src = src alert("1"); document.getElementById('content').appendChild(img); } for (var i = 0; i < images.length; i++) { buildImage(images[i]); } </script> </head> <body onload= "importJson();"> <div class="contents" id="content" ></div> <img src="img/logo.png" height="10px" width="10px" onload= "buildImage();"> </body>

  • In Jeditable, how do I make it so that when I click the div to edit, the text box content has initial value that is processed?

    When the user clicks on the div, jeditable will make a text box. However, I want the initial text to be done with function stripTags(), instead of what's on the page. The reason is that I'm using some URL techniques to turn plain text links into URLs. When the user clicks on the div, jeditable is turning them into <a href=>..</a> Is there a "beforeSubmit" option in jeditable? http://www.appelsiini.net/projects/jeditable

  • json data not rendered in backbone view

    - by user2535706
    I have been trying to render the json data to the view by calling the rest api and the code is as follows: var Profile = Backbone.Model.extend({ dataType:'jsonp', defaults: { intuitId: null, email: null, type: null }, }); var ProfileList = Backbone.Collection.extend({ model: Profile, url: '/v1/entities/6414256167329108895' }); var ProfileView = Backbone.View.extend({ el: "#profiles", template: _.template($('#profileTemplate').html()), render: function() { _.each(this.model.models, function(profile) { var profileTemplate = this.template(this.model.toJSON()); $(this.el).append(tprofileTemplate); }, this); return this; } }); var profiles = new ProfileList(); var profilesView = new ProfileView({model: profiles}); profiles.fetch(); profilesView.render(); and the html file is as follows: <!DOCTYPE html> <html> <head> <title>SPA Example</title> <!-- <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="src/css/reset.css" /> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="src/css/harmony_compiled.css" /> --> </head> <body class="harmony"> <header> <div class="title">SPA Example</div> </header> <div id="profiles"></div> <script id="profileTemplate" type="text/template"> <div class="profile"> <div class="info"> <div class="intuitId"> <%= intuitId %> </div> <div class="email"> <%= email %> </div> <div class="type"> <%= type %> </div> </div> </div> </script> </body> </html> This gives me an error and the render function isn't invoking properly and the render function is called even before the REST API returns the JSON response. Could anyone please help me to figure out where I went wrong. Any help is highly appreciated Thank you

  • Javascipt or jQuery "Are you sure?" dialog for <A> link?

    - by Andrew Tomazos - Fathomling
    I have a link in my HTML: <a href="/DoSomethingDangerous">do something dangerous</a> Visiting the DoSomethingDangerous link causes a not easily reversable action to occur. So after the link is clicked on I would like a dialog box (eg "Are you sure?" "OK" "Cancel") to be displayed and if the user clicks Cancel the link is not visited and the browser remains at the same page. What is the cleanest technique using either Javascript or jQuery to implement this?
