• Windows Home 7 and virtualization

  so apparently, you can't use VirtualBox etc with Windows Home 7. because you would be using two licenses instead of one. So other users that tried virtualization with Windows Home Premium 7, did you just end up using another OS like Ubuntu etc? Did you find a workaround for using Windows? When I say virtualization, I mean virtual machine of sort - where dangerous websites can be visited, nasty applications can be tried etc.

  If I want to move a xen guet (domU) from one host (dom0) to another host on another hardware platform which misses some capabilities, say virtualisation features, especially directio or likewise, will my image be able to run despite missing capabilities of the new host? This is important because I need to know if I can prepare XEN images on my workstation with full virtualisation features and deploy same images on less capable Servers later on. • Command history in zsh

  Currently I have zsh set up in such a way that command history is shared between all sessions immediately. Say I have a terminal emulator open with two tabs, each with a zsh session, A1 and A2. If I enter ls -la in A1, and then go to A2 and press up arrow key, I will see ls -la in the command prompt. I would like to change it so sessions don't share the command history with each other although when you start new session it gets all the previous history from all sessions before it.

  Let's say there are some folder in the D: drive: D:\Air D:\Abonden D:\All D:\Whatever I want to delete all folders starting with "A" (including all subfolders and files). I tried this command: rmdir D:\A* /s /q I get an error, though :( The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect. The del command works with *, but I need to delete folders as well. Is there a way to achieve that via the rmdir command?

  I've been asked to look into log shipping for SQL Server 2000 (yes, 2000): something in my memory tells me that I looked at this years ago and there were question marks over it's reliability. I'm trying to google stuff, but given the age of 2000 now I've put pulled up anything to confirm this -- most seem to say they're using it without problem, so just want confirm whether I'm just being delusional, or whether there were problems, but with a fully patched SP4 box these don't exist any more.   Exactly the opposite of http://superuser.com/questions/101482/global-scroll-acceleration-in-windows, is there a way to disable scroll-accelartion on windows (touchpad -- maybe from lenovo drivers). It's heck of annoying -- using no accelartion but high sensitivity like on linux is so much more precise. ( With this silly acceleration, I either have incredibly slow scrolling, or scrolling so fast it skips whole chunks of text at once. Speed control but not acceleration control. Could say the same for mouse cursor, though that's less annoying. )

  We have just setup squid as our proxy, and i was going to use Sarg to analyze the log files. I had initially set the Squid logs to rotate everyday so they dont get huge. The problem is i cant see an option in the squid config to read a folder full of squid log files (say *.log).   Lets say I have a website named xyz.co, I also have other domain names with the same prefix like xyz.com, xyz.it, xyz.co.it Right now nginx works fine with server_name xyz.co in nginx.conf in port 80 I would want all the other domains to redirect to xyz.co also I would want www.* versions of the above to redirect to xyz.co. How can I get this? Is this nginx webserver level changes? or I need to make this changes in DNS?
