  • Using UIScreen to drive a VGA display - doesn't seem to show the UIWindow?

    - by Peter Hajas
    HI there, I'm trying to use UIScreen to drive a separate screen with the VGA dongle on my iPad. Here's what I've got in my root view controller's viewDidLoad: //Code to detect if an external display is connected to the iPad. NSLog(@"Number of screens: %d", [[UIScreen screens]count]); //Now, if there's an external screen, we need to find its modes, itereate through them and find the highest one. Once we have that mode, break out, and set the UIWindow. if([[UIScreen screens]count] > 1) //if there are more than 1 screens connected to the device { CGSize max; UIScreenMode *maxScreenMode; for(int i = 0; i < [[[[UIScreen screens] objectAtIndex:1] availableModes]count]; i++) { UIScreenMode *current = [[[[UIScreen screens]objectAtIndex:1]availableModes]objectAtIndex:i]; if(current.size.width > max.width); { max = current.size; maxScreenMode = current; } } //Now we have the highest mode. Turn the external display to use that mode. UIScreen *external = [[UIScreen screens] objectAtIndex:1]; external.currentMode = maxScreenMode; //Boom! Now the external display is set to the proper mode. We need to now set the screen of a new UIWindow to the external screen external_disp = [externalDisplay alloc]; external_disp.drawImage = drawViewController.drawImage; UIWindow *newwindow = [UIWindow alloc]; [newwindow addSubview:external_disp.view]; newwindow.screen = external; }

  • Translate Basic Config.groovy log4j DSL to external log4j.properties

    - by Stephen Swensen
The following is a basic log4j configuration inside Config.groovy using the log4j DSL with Grails 1.2, it works as expected (log all errors to the given file): log4j = { appenders { file name:'file', file:"c:/error.log" } error 'grails.app' root { error 'file' } } How would one translate this into a properties style log4j configuration file? The following does not work: log4j.rootLogger=ERROR, FA log4j.appender.FA=org.apache.log4j.FileAppender log4j.appender.FA.File=C:/error.log log4j.logger.grails.app=ERROR, FA I suspect it has something to do with the translation of error 'grails.app' but I really don't know. If it makes any difference, the properties file is configured externally: grails.config.locations = ["file:${basedir}/extconf/log4j.properties"] All I really want is an external log4j properties file which logs all application exceptions to a file.

  • Unable to set cookie in response header (newcookie doesn't show in external browser) : Jersey jax-rs

    - by Pankhuri
I am trying to set a session cookie from server side : import javax.ws.rs.core.NewCookie; import javax.ws.rs.core.Response; public class Login { @POST @Produces("application/json") @Consumes("application/json") public Response login (String RequestPacket){ NewCookie cookie=null; CacheControl cc=new CacheControl(); cookie = LoginBO.validUser(RequestPacket); cc.setNoCache(true); if(cookie.getValue()!=null) return Response.ok("welcome "+cookie.getValue()).cookie(cookie).cacheControl(cc).build(); else return Response.status(404).entity("Invalid User").build(); } } In eclipse browser: on the client side (using gxt for that) when I print header i get the Set-Cookie field. which is expected. But the browser is not storing the cookie. in external browser: the header doesn't have any set-cookie field. Should I use HTTPServletResponse? But shouldn't the javax.ws.rs.core.Response work as well?

  • Using SimpleModal (jQuery plugin) to display a popup iFrame without unnecessary scrollbars

    - by Alex Black
I'm using SimpleModal: http://www.ericmmartin.com/projects/simplemodal/ And displaying an iframe, as per the example: // Display an external page using an iframe var src = "http://365.ericmmartin.com/"; $.modal('<iframe src="' + src + '" height="450" width="830" style="border:0">', { closeHTML:"", containerCss:{ backgroundColor:"#fff", borderColor:"#fff", height:450, padding:0, width:830 }, overlayClose:true }); And the popup has two sets of scrollbars, one perhaps for the HTML element representing the popup, and one for the iFrame. Try the demo to see. Ideally I'd like no scrollbars if the content fits, otherwise a single vertical scrollbar. Any ideas? Thanks! Alex

  • Python Tkinter - Edit external object within event handler?

    - by M3RPHY
Hey all, As the title says, I'm grabbing the cursor location within a motion triggered event handler in Tkinter. I'd like to update an existing label widget with the location, however I cannot for the life of me figure out how to edit the label's text field (or any external object for that matter) within the event handler. From what I understand, event is the only argument passed to the handler, which means I can't pass the label object. How do I access objects outside of the handler? Apologize for the noobish question as I'm a C programmer new to Python. Thanks!

  • Should External Routine Be Declared Always in Fortran?

    - by Ngu Soon Hui
In my fortran code I made the following call to dnrm2 routine d = dnrm2(n, ax, 1) Just a simple call that would return me a double precision result. The problem is whether I should declare the function at the start of my script. I found that if I don't declare it, and when I compile the code in 32 bit Windows, then the result is correct. But if I compile the code in 64 bit Windows, then the result won't be correct. Why this is so? Is external routine must always be declared?

  • External Reference to Richfaces modal

    - by John
Hi, I need to get a <rich:modalPanel id="mod1" .../> component to load an external page on "show" action, defined as: <a4j:commandButton value="link" id="l1" reRender="mod1" oncomplete="Richfaces.showModalPanel('mod1')"> <f:setPropertyActionListener target="#{mybean.someParam}" value="#{myOtherbean.someOtherparam}" /> </a4j:commandButton> . My first try was with <rich:modalPanel id="mod1"> <ui:include src="#{mybean.generateURL()"/> </rich:modalPanel> but it just throws me a 404 page not found error, typing the generated URL directly into the address bar works perfectly fine. Does anyone know what's causing the problem , or what's the correct way to do this? The system is running on seam/richfaces. Thanks!

  • Subsume external library into source tree with Autotools.

    - by troutwine
I am developing a new project, using Autotools for my build infrastructure. I would like to subsume external dependencies into my source tree. These dependencies are using Autotools, as well. How can I configure my project's build scripts to build and link against subsumed dependencies? Though Duret-Lutz's tutorial is excellent, this situation is only briefly addressed in a few slides. I found his explanation deeply confusing. By adding the directory name of subsumed dependencies to the toplevel Makefile.am's SUBDIRS the dependency is being configured and built. It is possible to manually set include paths through CFLAGS, but how do I link against libtool .la files?

  • Unresolved External symbol

Hello, I am getting a linking error, and I'm not sure what its referring to. • Execution of "mvn sonar:sonar" with no external access

    - by romaintaz
Hello, I try to execute the mvn sonar:sonar command on a machine where Maven is configured to have no access to external repositories (in reality, this is not exactly the case, but it helps me to explain my problem). So currently, if I run this command, I get the following error: [ERROR] BUILD ERROR [INFO] ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [INFO] The plugin 'org.codehaus.mojo:sonar-maven-plugin' does not exist or no valid version could be found I think it means that I have some incorrect metadata in my local repository, as I have a [local repo]\org\codehaus\mojo\sonar-maven-plugin\1.0-beta-1 directory (with the JAR inside, of course). Have you any idea why my command is failing? tech infos: Maven 2.2.1, Java 1.6, Sonar 2.1.2

  • Best practices for TDD BDD with code that uses external services / api

    - by adam
I'm using a twitter gem which basically accesses twitter and lets me grab tweets, timeline etc. Its really good but I have a lot of my code that uses the stuff it returns and I need to test it. The things the gem returns aren't exactly simple strings, there pretty complex objects (scary as well) so im left scratching my head. So basically I'm looking for an answer, book, blog, open-source project that can show me the rights and wrongs of testing around external services. answers that are either not language centric or ruby/rails centric would most greatly be appreciated.

  • How to prevent a globally overridden "new" operator from being linked in from external library

    - by mprudhom
In our iPhone XCode 3.2.1 project, we're linking in 2 external static C++ libraries, libBlue.a and libGreen.a. libBlue.a globally overrides the "new" operator for it's own memory management. However, when we build our project, libGreen.a winds up using libBlue's new operator, which results in a crash (presumably because libBlue.a is making assumptions about the kinds of structures being allocated). Both libBlue.a and libGreen.a are provided by 3rd parties, so we can't change any of their source code or build options. When we remove libBlue.a from the project, libGreen.a doesn't have any issues. However, no amount of shuffling the linking order of the libraries seems to fix the problem, nor does any experimentation with the various linking flags. Is there some way to tell XCode to tell the linker to "have libGreen's use of the new operator use the standard C++ new operator rather than the one redefined by libBlue"?

  • unresolved external symbol __penter referenced in function _WspiapiStrdup@4

    - by John Weldon
I started getting this compile error after upgrading to Visual Studio 2010. Not sure if it's related, but I can't figure out what library to reference to satisfy this dependency? • Setting the colour scheme for a Silverlight app from an external resource

    - by Alex Angas
I have a Silverlight 3 application containing six custom user controls. I'd like to load the colour scheme for these controls from an external resource. The code and XAML containing a default colour scheme would be built in the XAP. Then a parameter on the object tag would contain a URL from where alternate colours can be dynamically loaded. By the way, the Silverlight 3 application theme feature could be used if that's possible but is really overkill. Only colours need to be changed. Is this possible and how would you recommend to do it?

  • Avoiding display of Visual Studio Debugger when starting a new process from within java.exe

    - by Matt Sheppard
How can I, from within a java program on windows, prevent a debugger window being displayed if a program I invoke crashes, and how can I detect the fact that it has crashed? Background I have a problem with a java application running on Windows which is launching an unreliable third party program by way of ProcessBuilder.start(). Specifically, if the external program crashes, the 'Visual Studio Just-In-time Debugger' window pops up asking if the user wants to debug the program. From the java application side, I'm happy to deal with the fact that under some circumstances, the third party program will crash, but I'd like to be able to detect and silently handle that situation from within the Java code without requiring any user interaction.

  • jQuery Tabs - Following External Links

    - by Ricky
    I have jQuery Tabs setup, but am trying to get a Tab to follow an external link. I have tried to use the code from jQuery, but the URL still loads via Ajax instead of redirecting the browser to the url: http://jqueryui.com/demos/tabs/#...follow_a_tab.27s_URL_instead_of_loading_its_content_via_ajax Current code: $(function() { $('#rotate > ul').tabs({ select: function(event, ui) { var url = $.data(ui.tab, 'load.tabs'); if( url ) { location.href = url; return false; } return true; } }); });

  • [java] Trying to use ResourceBundle to fetch messages from external file

    - by bumperbox
Essentially I would like to have a messages.properties files external to the jar files in my application. So that users can add languages and edit the files easily if my translations are wrong at the moment i use ResourceBundle.getBundle("package.MessageBundle"); But i would like to do something like this ResourceBundle.getBundle("lang/MessageBundle"); Where lang is a folder under my application installation directory. is this a good idea (if not, why not)? can someone point me in the right direction, or some sample code that does this thanks Alex

  • How to build a distributable jar with Ant for a java project having external jar dependencies

    - by Nikunj Chauhan
I have a Java project in Eclipse with class MainClass having main method in package : com.nik.mypackage. The project also references two external libraries, which I copied in the lib folder in Eclipse and then added to build path using ADD JAR function. The libraries being one.jar and two.jar This library is in lib folder in eclipse and added to the build path. I want to create a executable JAR of the application using ant script. So that user can access my application using command: c:>java -jar MyProject-20111126.jar I know about the Eclipse plugin which directly exports a java application as runnable JAR. But I want to learn ant and the build process so manually want to create the build.xm.

  • Mac dashboard widgets not loading external images

    - by andrhamm
I set out to make a quick Mac OS X dashboard widget. I read the documentation and was pleased to find out they use simple HTML, JS, and CSS. I created my widget and it works when I open the .html file in Firefox, but it does not work when I install the widget to the dashboard. The widget is simple: it displays the most recent image from a weather web cam stream. The image URLs look like this: http://webcam.com/stream.jpg?1274213999617. The timestamp is appended to the URL and the server automatically responds with the latest image for that time. I did not write the server script. The widget appears to be loading correctly, but the web cam image will not load. Notice the blue question mark in the upper left. The image should appear over the square background image. Is there any special procedure for loading external images into a widget?

  • include external jar when running java -jar

    - by prmatta
From my readings, when you execute a command as follows: java -jar foo.jar Then the main classpath is ignored and the classpath is taken from the manifest file. Further, the classpath declared on the command line is also ignored. So in: java -classpath /usr/local/jar/foobar.jar -jar foo.jar /usr/local/jar/foobar.jar is ignored. Lastly, I have read that the manifest file can only only contain relative paths, within the jar file. So, how do you include absolute paths to external jars, that are present on the system, but not in the jar file being executed?
